And the same to you, you yellow-bellied goat. Beat a woman? Why don"t you pick on someone your own size? Tell your dumb-f uck friend to eat crap and die. She's better off without his LovePeddler-mongering behind. You? Get a god-dam ned life.
Celebrities › Re: Frank Edoho Separates From Wife by Arielle: 12:10am On Jul 30, 2011
Seems to me like the guy is protesting too much. Why rush to twitter to tell all your business? To get a word in first? Horsecrap! He's a cheating, wife-beating s.o.b. and no amount of postulating will change that. Catherine has been suffering beatings for years from this arrogant Arrow.
If your wife is sharp-tongued, or temperamental, or too assertive and independent for your tender male ego, or whatever excuse some numb-nuts come up with for physical abuse, then walk. You have no right to beat her.
By the way, don't assume he dumped her, even if he says so. Catherine probably left his sorry behind.

@ OP, who gives a flaming sh it what turned them radical? You think other people don't have problems? Do you think other Nigerians are not also going through the immense hardship caused by our leaders, majority of whom have been of the very same tribe and religion as these scum of the earth. Are the rest of us bearing arms and killing all and sundry? What gives them the right to take the lives of other Nigerians? Don't you dare come to this board and spout such dispicable rot. People like you are the reason why a lot of people the world over hate muslims and your religion. You, sir, and the rest of your ilk, are hypocritical charlatans. You hide behind religion, yet perpertrate such inhumanity to your fellow man. You condemn others for the way they chose to live, yet daily you reap the benefits of the freedoms, achievements and progress their way of life affords you. Get the he ll off this board if you have nothing intelligent to contribute. Oh i forgot, intelligent thought escapes you.
Politics › Re: ‘ex-service Men, Undergrads Are Members Of Boko Haram Strike Force’ by Arielle: 12:12am On Jul 13, 2011
You say Islam can never support terrorism. But people are maiming and killing all over the world in the name of your religion. Rightly or wrongly, Islam/muslims have become hated, feared and mistrusted the world over, not just in Nigeria. What is being done by muslims who have a voice, influence and the financial means to redress these misconceptions and call to order the 'few' misguided muslims who continue to take the lives of those who do not belive the same as they do? Is there any concerted effort to re-educate or re-direct? Are your imams and emirs or sultans in the whole of the muslim world taking clear definitive steps to halt these wanton killings in the name of the religion they hold so dear? I haven't seen it or perhaps i"ve been sleeping or just returned from Mars!
Politics › Re: New Lawmakers To Receive One Billion Naira For Accommodation by Arielle: 7:25pm On Jun 30, 2011
When the National Assembly qtrs were proposed and there was a hue and cry over the amount to be spent, the justification then was that these would be permanent residences for serving lawmakers, and would help the government save millions it pays to lawmakers to rent private accomodation at the begining of their tenures. Where, may I ask, did all these 'good intentions' go? And some clowns have the nerve to come up here talking about how expensive living in the FCT is. These fat asses do nothing, pay for nothing, rob us blind and still get paid millions, to add insult to injury. Whatever next? Will we buy their groceries because Abuja supermarkets cost more than shops in other parts of the country? Or pay for their extra-curricular activities because Abuja hookers are more expensive?
Travel › Re: Most Romanticized City In Nigeria by Arielle: 11:22am On Jun 19, 2011
Nestled at the top of the mountain, the Obudu Mountain Resort is situated on a plateau at 1576 meters above sea level on the Oshie Ridge of the Sankwala Mountains. The 20 u-turns on the road that takes you there (one aptly called the "the devil's elbow" ) are scarily exciting. Each u-turn takes you higher up the mountain and steadily reveals the most beautiful sights ever. The temperate climate offers a total contrast and welcome respite from Africa’s tropical heat. Idyllic tranquility, beautiful scenery and breathtaking views make it ideal for the lone adventurer, families on reunion, young couple/honeymooners or holiday group.

Obudu Mountain Resort is in Cross River State and is situated close to the border of Cameroon. The Resort provides accommodation in the form of African round huts and chalets on stilts maximizing the breathtaking views, as well as contained suites varying in size from the 2-bedroomed Governor’s Lodge with its own lounge/dining room and kitchenette to the 20 Mountain Villas, each with three bedrooms, lounge, dining room, kitchenette and balcony.

The food and beverage offering is found in the Terrace Restaurant and Bar with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere made complete by the blazing log fire. National and international cuisine is guaranteed to suit all tastes and the healthy appetites from a day’s nature walk or round of golf. There is a fully equipped gym, two floodlit tennis courts, a squash court and a natural swimming pool. Keen golfers can show their prowess on the hotel’s 9-hole golf course. The tours to view the magnificent scenery and spectacular birdlife are a must for the visitor to this part of the world and these tours can be taken on foot or on bicycle. For those who forgot to pack binoculars, the Canopy Walkway which is situated in the trees allows visitors thrilling close-ups of the birds in their natural habitat high above the ground.

A major attraction for guests is the Africa’s longest cable car system. At 4 kilometers, Obudu Mountain Resort's cable car gently transfers guests (and their bags) from the tropical climate at the base of the mountain right to the hotel’s reception area on the mountainside which is often in the clouds and is accompanied by an invigorating drop in temperature
There are no pictures to do justice to the awesome sight of the mountains. They can make a believer out of an atheist. The sight can make you feel small and insignificant but yet so powerful to be a part of something so magnificent. Can't explain it. Trying to upload a few pictures. So far unsuccessful. Will keep trying.

Celebrities › Re: Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria Contest Holds June 25 by Arielle: 6:53pm On Jun 17, 2011
This is disgraceful and the reason why we remain backward in everything. These girls were not assisted to let their beauty shine through. They may not be heart-breakingly beautiful but i bet beauty contest veterans like Venezuela will never allow their contestants be presented in such a shoddy manner, even if its only a national contest. Bad hair, frightful make-up, bad skin, utterly horrendous photography. I mean, how dare MBGN organisers present this to us as representative of Nigerian beauty. A lot of these girls have good features. but who can see them beneath 'willie-willie' weaves and drag-queen make-up! Don't they get some sort of intervention from the organisers before they take publicity photos?
The last girl is naturally pretty, but oh, those elbows! We need to step up our game because participating in a beauty contest is not something one gets up suddenly and undertakes. The Venezuelans and Brazilians have perfected the art of pre-contest preparation and it takes years.
I feel you on the natural hair thing.

Politics › Re: Nigeria At 50: Is It Worth Celebrating? by Arielle: 10:52am On Sep 29, 2010
Our profligate spending, wastefulness, misplaced priorities and self-importance are factors that have brought us to the sad state we are in now. I don't think most Nigerians know the half of the truly evil and nasty things that go on in this country. What makes it really frightening is that these acts are carried out with the knowledge or even complicity of the very people supposed to protect us, and who hold our future and those of our children in their greedy grasps.
Sure, we can celebrate our continued existence as a country, even though we're hanging on with bloody finger nails. But such lavish spending, in the face of such incredible want and the monumental failure of the basic structures that could make the lives of ordinary Nigerians just a little bit more bearable, is monstrous, to say the least.

And how about when the women abuse themselves by drinking excessively and constituting a damned nuisance. I don't watch Big Brother as I find it boring, but the few times I've watched the highlights, I though Lerato was the most offensive female in the house. No excusing violence but she can push anyone, man or woman to the wall.

Politics › Re: Police Arrests Donald Duke- Must They Arrest Like This? by Arielle: 6:23pm On Jun 01, 2010
Tinapa is an absolute failure. The only thing that works there apart from the water parks,is T-Mart, Donald's store. Right now, there is still no electricity in Tinapa.
Donald Duke totally impoverished this state. The financial situation in Cross River State is dire. A huge chunk of the state allocation is channeled towards paying off Donald's debts. The pineapple project was a total scam.
Chib4u was spot on in everything he said. What that man has done to our state is really criminal and I shudder to think of him let loose on Nigeria as a whole.
I hope Nigerians can look beyond a handsome face, charm and eloquence.

Politics › Re: Pay-for-play: Senators Want N16 Million (each), For Each New Minister by Arielle: 10:17am On Mar 18, 2010
Don't dismiss this story out of hand. I believe there's an element of truth to it. Money has been exchanging hands for confirmation of ministerial appointments, it is not news in Nigeria. Remember Ibrahim Mantu and El Rufai's allegations? That is the least of the sh.t these people get up to!
Maybe they're getting desperate and trying to amass as much as possible. The dire prospect of Nigeria splitting will mean the end of 'free money and ghana bags' for some fat cats!

TV/Movies › Re: My 15 Most Disturbing Movies. by Arielle: 9:55pm On Mar 02, 2010
'The Ghost and the Darkness'
I hated that movie. It disturbed me. That's the correct word. I can't explain how I felt - fear (at what, I don't know), depression, disgust, hatred.
I understand it was a true story. There was something really evil and demonic about those lions. Lions don't kill for sport. They kill for food. Those animals killed for the fun of it - in the cruelest way imaginable. They almost had a sixth sense about when a trap was laid to catch them.
And get this - they kept the skulls of their victims as trophies!
What I really don't get is my reaction to that movie. I couldn't sleep a wink and clung to my husband all night.

Celebrities › Re: Angelina Jolie Slept With Her Mom's Boyfriend At 16 by Arielle: 4:29pm On Oct 30, 2009
Don't know if one experience makes you bi-sexual, but Angie did have a lesbian affair with an asian-american model named Jenni, years and years ago, before she became a star and before her first marriage ( Billy Bob was her second marriage). She never hid it then, and apparently she said if she could marry Jenni, she would have. I saw it on E! channel.
I still think she's the hottest woman in Hollywod. Enough to make a girl consider crossing over!! Just the one time!
Education › Re: Online Post Graduate Studies (m.sc Or Pgd) by Arielle: 9:16pm On Jul 08, 2009
University of London has a prestigious external programe. Quite pricey, though. They've had talks and seminars in Nigeria a few times so I think a lot of employers are familiar with their degrees. Also good is University of Liverpool. A friend is enrolled in that and I know a lot of Nigerian corporate executives are also enrolled. It is really rigorous, though. At least 2 or 3 assignments a week. And my friend says they have a soft-ware activated immediately assignments are submitted, that detects plagiarism or any form of copy-copy! So there must be total intellectual commitment.
Foreign Affairs › Re: The Vp Debate On In A Matter Of Time! by Arielle: 1:01pm On Oct 03, 2008
What I would have given to see Hillary v Sarah Palin! Hil would have wiped the floor with her. Biden showed remarkable restraint and I could feel his frustration. His shooting down of the whole maverick nonsense was classic!
But pulling his punches just dampened what would have been a really interesting debate. Whose fault is it she's a dim-wit?
Why should female candidates expect to be treated as equals but still expect softer, less aggressive handling because of their sex? Isn't that pandering and condescension right there?
