This bloody nonentity should shut his stinking trap. No- good, incompetent, corrupt and dishonest turd. The girl was neglected and the animals dragged their feet before sending her to a hospital. The stupid NYSC should be scrapped. Buhari is looking for how to save money, ba? But it won't be because some arseholes are growing rich off the scheme. Useless country. APC, PDP anyone who has been in power, may they all burn in hell. Rest in peace sweet girl.
Celebrities › Re: "You Do Abortions": Sophie Momodu To Ladies Bashing Her Over Being A Baby Mama by Arielle: 12:20am On Nov 30, 2016
EWAagoyin:
I see some fools above me saying she doesn't have shame and not focusing on her message isn't better for u to be called baby mama , isn't it better for people to say she got baby for her younger brother than get abortion and in the process spoil her womb and also kill an innocent soul..... well the message wasn't expected to go down well with ladies who has had abortions or men who has once or more paid for abortion. to me she as the moral right to talk because she's not a killer in the surgery room like many others.
Thank you. Country of hypocrites

Don't know why y'all are acting so surprised. A lot of Nigerian males in the public eye are on the Down Low. Some are even married but they have secret lives. Even a lot of non - celebs. Including some huffing and puffing with indignation on Nairaland! grin
As for politicians - our money is going on gigolos!
Celebrities › Re: Anita Solomon, The Other Woman Toke Makinwa Talked About In Her Book by Arielle: 5:50pm On Nov 29, 2016
chineloSA:
Good to know her background, though nothing screams biracial when i look at her. I guess her genes have been diluted.
There are so many light skinned girls out there. Anita is honestly an ordinary Jane to me. Nothing spectacular, even after hearing her biracial background.

₩How do you know her by the way?
True. She's just a regular girl. Quiet. I grew up knowing her family, her Dad and his siblings, because I'm from Calabar. Men seem to get away with everything don't they? STD and they still 'let him in'?!! Suffice it to say, Toke will make a killing with her book. I'm definitely buying it. Anita has her baby and Maje looks like the cad he is. grin

chineloSA:
Is this the light skin Toke bleached for?
Truly i dont see anything light that will make person go bleach their skin. So many stunning, light skinned girls.

This Anita is just ordinary cry cry cry
She's much better looking in real life and nowhere near 'light skinned'. She's not even half Lebanese but a quarter. Her grandfather Patrick Solomon moved to Nigeria from Lebanon as a young man and established PATSOL, one of the first cinema houses in the area. He married an Efik lady and had Anita ' s late Dad, amongst other children. So her Dad was biracial. Her mum might be Ibibio, not sure. She's brown skinned. Not light, as in 'yellow'. Toke just wanted to lighten her skin. No excuses. Na her own body, after all.

Crime › Re: Man Says Thief Burnt In Lagos "Deserves To Die" by Arielle: 4:41pm On Nov 17, 2016
Nigeria, one of the most 'religious' countries in the world. Filled with sanctimonious, judgemental and preachy people. Where are our Christian beliefs? It's amazing how quickly they're cast aside when the real tests of humanity come calling. A life for a life? A life for a laptop? A life for a phone? What a joke. With you lot for examples, it's no wonder people are leaving the faith in droves. Only until we can learn to live like civilised people, can we be expected to be treated likewise. These gruesome pictures will go around the world. And when we are called names that reflect these kinds of behaviour, we claim racism.

Yet on Sundays you bloody hypocrites fill churches, speaking in tongues, wallowing in your own sanctimonious egotism. Never a sentence is completed without God or Jesus. Yet you come here and try to justify this abhorrent practice against another human being. Shame!

Funnicator:
Canada not a republic? WTF! I'm so surprised to know this. Ignorant me! I thought their Prime Minister Trudeux was really indpeendent of the British throne.
But Canada is so well governed, don't think I'd want them become Republic. They're beautiful, developed, calm, organized and peaceful already, I wouldn't want more.
I think there was a referendum some years ago, asking Canadians if they wanted out, that is become a Republic and no longer have the Queen as head of state. Canadians liked it just fine. Go figure. I guess it works for them. And why is this thread not on the front pagehuh angry

See these ignorant ones commenting nonsense up there ^^^^^... So because they are actresses, they shouldn't play around or have fun? Someone said JJC, Unkul wee u keep kwayiet! These people spend more time abroad than in Nigeria. The funny part is that it's those ones that haven't entered local flights that will be busy typing rubbish. For the fact that they play in d snow doesn't make them JJC or haven't seen snow befoe. I remember when Mercy Johnson, Genevieve, Omotola etc played in d snow and posted the pictures, maybe they are also JJC. Worry about Ur life and let people have fun how they wish. "Beefers" are liable to die poor!!
Don't mind the villagers. Plenty of Americans have never seen snow. They think it snows everywhere in 'yankee'. undecided Dummies

This is what I'd want you to do afterwards;

1. Read your post again at 11am.
2. Re-read at 1:00pm, this time, rationally.
3. Then finally, repeat the step at number 2 by 4pm and ask yourself if you made any sense

Technically correcthuh You think God is a man that can be reasoned out? Abeg, give me an instance of a prophecy in the Bible that did not come to pass but was TECHNICALLY CORRECT.
I guess what he means is that technically Hillary won, by winning the popular vote. That is the votes of people who queued us to cast their vote, she got the majority. But the almighty electoral college votes for the president and vice president and they voted Trump.

nairaland should be called gutter land how do people use tribalistic slurs like afonja with no provocation whatsoever and get no ban? This platform is a huge failure as long as people cannot state an opinion that comes without any ethnic rationale receiving such vitrol and hate and yet no real concerted effort to halt such idiotic behavior.
All the "Ipob" chanters are no better although a certain group seems to have taken hate, vitriol and self - pity to a whole new level. But you're right, Nairaland has descended to a whole new low and Seun is doing nothing about it. I think after 11 years here its time I left. To find another nigerian forum with news and entertainment, even gossip that won't leave me feeling besmirched, sad and hopeless.

I am not in support of this lying idea either, but don't forget our brothers up north too do similar thing in principle when they use mosque to propagate untrue hate messages for political gains.
Can you show us or mention an example that matches this unconscionable slander against another? How can people be so totally without a conscience? Reading the abuses that followed from barely literate people who just want to attack. What is worth this descent into this kind of mindless hatred against another human, irrespective of tribe or political leaning? I really think it's time for a referendum. To be in the same country with such hatefulness, makes my skin crawl.

I like that she didn't come across as preachy and moralistic. She's a writer, not your pastor. And she gave a realistic view of life in nigeria, at that time and even presently. Impressionable young people should look to their parents as role models, not a narrator of modern fiction. This is getting to be the norm where parents are abdicating their roles and responsibility to train and set good examples for their children to follow and are instead looking to pop culture figures as role models. Please train your children and allow me to have a good read, I beg. However salacious it may be!

Politics › Re: How Did The Corrupt Millitary govts Managed To Build These National Assets? by Arielle: 7:44am On Nov 03, 2016
Thank you! A whole lot of the infrastructure we have, including those crumbling, shut down or moribund for lack of maintenance or sheer incompetence by successive democratic governments, were built by the military governments. Democracy has bequeathed little but ridiculously expensive governments, waste, profligacy and incompetence. When are we ever going to get things right? The military ' s human rights abuses still leave a sour taste in the mouth. But they got a whole lot more done than these clowns in government, PDP and APC, who are too busy playing the game of politics to actually get much work done.

See Dolapo Osinbajo looking young, fresh and pretty. Looking so much younger than the madams standing next to her. When will we Nigerian women learn that less is more? So loud and busy...too much make up, plenty jaga-jaga in our clothing in the name of fashion, dripping jewellery, most times over - weight and over-exposed. Simplicity is key to looking young and fresh.
