A moral police on social media has called out Herbert Wigwe's oldest daughter for not standing to greet the Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima.
The user shared a photo of Tochi Wigwe sitting while accepting a handshake from Shettima during one of the events organised to mourn Herbert Wigwe, his wife Chizoba Wigwe, and their son Chizzy Wigwe who died in a helicopter crash. He then shared photos of former VP Yemi Osinbajo and businessman Aliko Dangote standing to shake hands with Shettima.
He wrote: “Same Man, different regard. Whoever that girl is,she lacks proper home training. You don't shake a person old enough to be your father while seating down.”
A couple of other social media users from the North also berated the grieving daughter.
However, many defended her.
Meanwhile we're the most badly behaved people. Home training indeed. Envious, bitter, poor people. She's wealthy. Deal with it.
anyways this problem is a global thing. Turkey, Argentina even USA is experiencing inflation. But it will hit Nigeria harder since we don’t produce most of the things we consume. and the locally produced things needs foreign raw materials like fertilizer etc
To survive make dollar or start producing something locally and sell/export
What Nigeria is experiencing is hardly inflation as we know it. That is the import of the article. To coin a much detested phrase, they should look for home-grown solutions to our very Nigerian problem. I suspect Cardoso is being leaned on to soft-pedal, because I believe he knows the economy is being sabotaged. I think he is very capable. He just needs to turn a blind eye to politics and ethnicity and take the bull by the horns, no matter what or who. Very tough call in a peculiar country like Nigeria.
TunezTV: The lady has come out to caution against bestie who are hungry for your properties.
The Port Harcourt based Lady was in a coma when her friend who she trusted above all others made plans for her wake keeping and snatched her husband during her time of need.
oglalasioux: Relax. There won't be any coup. The planning will leak even at the conceiving stage. I trust my Igbo military men to not get involved in that nonsense.
Nigeria will reset itself in due course. The West will recolonize Black Africa. We are beyond redemption.
And black africans will fall even lower in the world totem pole. We are the cause of our own problems.
FreeStuffsNG: Thank you Tolu. May God bless you for setting the records straight. I particularly love your reference to his mediocre record of public service as Anambra state Governor. That's a recurring lesson to anyone who is today a political office holder that once you have a plan in the future for a higher office, serve the people excellently so that you will not be labouring in vain on the social media in the future.
May God bless Nigeria for ever!,Check my signature for free stuffs!
You and your like are totally shameless. Mediocre record? Where are the sterling qualities of your god? You've got the power you were so desperate to have. What have you done with it? The country is falling apart such that people like you resort to defending the indefensible. Admit that you're simply a disgusting tribal bigot and own it with your full chest instead of talking about public record and performance. You don't know the meaning of the words.
emkz: A Nigerian based in Canada, Kayode Stephen, has been accused of defrauding several people of millions of naira under the pretext of getting them certificates of sponsorship for care jobs in the United Kingdom.
Darlingme: There's a lady cleaner in my office, who recently lost his eldest brother. They live in the same city, where she has no meaningful job, no accomodations, but his big brother is a multi millionaire. Who can fix her up in a jiffy, but according to the story, he wouldn't because they're step siblings and past record from her mom towards his mom, wouldn't let him help any of his step siblings. My questions are: Why is there too much hatred among step siblings? Isn't your father the root cause of your hurt? Why do you easily forgive your father, but can't do the same to his children? Why do we inherit enemies from our parents and don't want to let go? Why do men still choose to have children from different women knowing that their children might not love each other and might even give him much trauma in old age due to bitterness and hatred for each other? Is it same in other part of the world? What is your general opinion on a polygamous family?
Half siblings are different from step siblings. I guess you meant half siblings, sharing a father, but different mothers.
Sctests: So now we agree that Gowon started the civil war. Not Ojukwu. He finally came clean..
Anyway, the population of his tribe has continue to reduce with mass fulani killings, while those he sought to extinguish keep growing in leaps and bounds. He remains alive to witness it. That's my greatest satisfaction.
ironheart: I pray for more hunger so that the people can demand accountability from these men. If Nigerians are not talking, they will all be sleeping in the hollow chamber. Revolution is coming
There can never be any accountability from these people, so let's stop going round in circles and wasting time. Are Nigerians afraid to call a spade by its name? Politicians have never done us any good and they never will. We should collectively start to consider viable alternatives. The system is completely flawed and cannot work. Check out the background of most of our politicians. Crooks, scammers, never-do-wells. Most did not have the discipline to finish school and resort to parading fake credentials. Politics has only ever been their source of income. Then you put these kind of people to run a flawed structure and we expect something good? Come on.
RX480: The military are trained in the art of war not the art of governance, all a coup does is create a failed state.
Is that right? So who are the experts in governance? Our politicians? Except you've been living under a rock for the last 9 years, your 'governance-trained' politicians have completely wrecked the country. I find it hard to believe Nigerians are looking to the same scammers and criminals who put us here in the first place, to get us out of this mess. And that old chestnut of "the worst civilian government is better than the best military government" is utter crap. Does it even make sense?
And how does it concern any of you if some people choose to celebrate Valentine's day? Its their choice. Leave them to it. You do your own. If they celebrate it, its okay. If you don't, its okay too. Some nut said its unbiblical. Okay. But most of what you all do is unbiblical. Enough with this judgemental, bible-quoting hypocrisy. Most of you are the meanest, most uncharitable lot ever.
Righteousness2: Terrorists sympathizers what do you Have to say? Journalist by day! Terrorists by Nite. When ISRAEL STRIKES them, you begin to scream " INNOCENT CIVILIANS".
These are people giving you figures of innocent civilians killed.
One thing I Love about " the Apple of God's eyes" , is that they are Focused on their assignment and hitting the targets.
They are not carried away by noise and propagandas here and there
Victory upon Victory upon Victory to ISRAEL. GOD BLESS ISRAEL.
You are a certified i.diot, a usele.ss religious bigot and a quite daft person. "Apple of God's eyes" indeed. People like you make me sick.
happney65: In 2015. We told them in simple and basic English.
You do not remove a nagging wife which was GEJ and replace her with a road side prostitute. It was the analogy I gave them.
I told my friends voting for these people then that you do not on no occasion vote for a Buhari.
A Buhari is the road side prostitute who will sleep with your neighbors and friends.
Either you replace GEJ with someone better or you leave him there. The ones coming will make things worst for us. His antecedents are glaring.
But with stupid emotions, they didn't listen so some of us stayed away from the polls in 2015. I wasn't ready to vote for GEJ again, but it would be over my dead body I would vote for Buhari because I know who exactly he was.
Coming down to 2023, The one taking over from him was even worst than him. All he said was Emilokan. He never promised us anything whatsoever.
It was just about him and his EGO. While a candidate was telling you and telling us we have to move from consumption to production. Mr Emilokan proudly said " shey na statistics we go chop"
How a presidential candidate can say that and so callee educated people still voted and campaigned for him is one of the wonders of the 21st century
24hours before his inaguration. I said it in black and white on my status that he will be worst than Buhari. Apart from the fact that he said he would continue from where Buhari stopped, Himself and Buhari are nothing but birds of the same feather
The Economy that was the fastest growing in Africa when they got power, has turned to the poverty capital of the world and our people are now poorer than they have ever been since 1960
See,This is just the beginning. We haven't started and we haven't seen anything yet at all
PrinceofSarcasm: You want to marry her because she is a citizen. That's the main motivation for you ...
So just know it won't be a marriage because this is purely transactional so don't go in there with warped expectations.
Don't go there looking for love because she is just desperate to have a family while you want documents
So don't call this what it is not. This is an arrangement
Even if it is an arrangement, they can still be happy together. They both come with something the other needs, and they can form a good, strong partnership. They are obviously friends who respect each other. Love can grow and that is the most lasting kind of love. OP, go for it and best of luck to both of you.
Printme: The movie was cool. A Nollywood movie I actually enjoyed in a long while.
At the same time, I think it reflects on a very key aspect of life that most people never give much thoughts to.
That is, a male child will always need their father.
Regardless of how much a woman will love the male child, they will always need their father to be good influences in the society.
She gave birth to five children and all their fathers were absent. It's a lesson for women. Once you spoil your life, men will continue to chop and go.
No man will ever want to settle and train another man's child.
It doesn't matter how much you try to manipulate them with the "it's a mistake" or "a real man ought to take care of another man's child"
It won't work. They will just chop you and go and probably add their own seeds since you want to be unfortunate that way.
Also, statistics shows that male children raised by single mothers tends to be the "bad eggs" in the society.
And we all saw that in the movie. Not even one of the children turned out fine for the society. Instead, they were filled with that selfish love that put only their needs into consideration and never the needs of others.
And that's the kind of love women can give their children. Only a father's disciplinary love tells the child that other's needs are important.
It is the father that seeks to make sure the male child, no matter how strong he is, he never used that strength for his own benefits alone.
If she had thought the children to protect others and not just herself, they probably would have turned out fine.
Overall, I think the movie was entertaining but the lessons were still there except you choose to ignore it.
This half-a.rsed twit is one of the reasons why a lot of people have left this forum. No one disputes the importance of a father in the children's lives. God took mine away and left me to raise my children myself. For this clown to come here and make sweeping statements like this, rubbishing the efforts of single mothers, struggling to be mother and father to their children, pay bills and make sound decisions by herself, is extremely low. I know a lot of children of single mothers who are upstanding and responsible members of society. They've been raised to higher standards and greater expectations because they had no dads. Conversely, some of the worst, most indulgent children and adults I know were raised in 2 parent homes. To come here and make such assertions shows how poorly you have been raised, by both father and mother. You're a poor example of a 2 parent home. Run away.
Klass99: I've never been married but the divorce stories below are the ones that resonate with me till date;
1. Anita divorced because her husband turned her into a punching bag and she was constantly lying to co-workers about her bruises. She didn't leave until her 4 or 5 year old son said to her one day, I will slap you ooo, I will slap you and beat you the way daddy used to beat you, when she tried to correct him for some misbehaviour.
2. Katherine left because her husband was becoming pushy and demanding about anal sex and she doesn't roll that way. I am glad she walked because the health issues associated with anal sex are not nice and he most likely would have dumped her down the road, if or when she developed such issues, because she was trying to please him.
3. Juliet left because her husband was a serial and unrepentant cheat. He started bringing women home whenever she was away on an official trip. Their two girls were seeing this, the older one asked Juliet, why do you allow or put up with what daddy does? It's like you are accepting his behaviour and saying to us that it's okay.
Let me just add this one, the day I have to treat myself for an STD and I know I didn't cheat, that marriage must end and it may not end well for that man either
Modified to add; Why are these logical gender people quoting me with their nonsense and stupidity na? You people think you have the monopoly of divorce in Nigerian marriages, abi?
I thought you also said marriage is a scam that doesn't benefit men. Why do you get so triggered when women are bold and courageous enough, to end horrible marriages with your gender? Shouldn't you be celebrating that one of your own has been liberated from the scam?
Wailing wailers, una never see something. If you like don't change your shitty behaviours and lifestyles in marriage, your own divorce may just be waiting for you down the road or when you reach UK, US, or Canada.
Very well said. I wonder what kind of half-baked 'men' populate this site.
To the dummies asking "who pay", there are young women in Nigeria who earn a living and pay their own way through life. Don't judge every girl by the non-existent standards of the low company you keep. You read that she and her friends took their leave at the same time so they could travel together and you're here asking silly questions.
TimeMachine2: Leadership mess according to ipob election losers. Peter Gringory Obi or any ibo man can never rule Nigeria till 2073. Even if military is going to take over, it has to be a Yoruba man or Fulani/Hausa man, you remain the slaves that you are until restitution is fully paid on behalf of your greedy forefathers.
Your unmitigated idiocy is breathtaking. Just read the rubbish you wrote up there.
BetterHeadline: This guy always have an opinion on every issue, even on issues he clearly knows nothing about.
The Arabic translation of Jesus is Yasu, not Isa. Isa was merely a quranic character different from Biblical Jesus. Even Arabic Christians use Yasu, not Isa, to refer to Jesus.
And islamic Maryam is also a different character, different from the biblical Mary.
That is not true. A muslim explained it to me. At least as far as Mary the mother of Jesus is concerned, she is the same as Maryam in the Quran where she is mentioned several times. An entire chapter is dedicated to her.
Wickedfacts: That woman's matter has serious K leg.
Police, Efcc, CCB and ICPC are investigating her.
Falsification of documents, Fraudulent misrepresentation of qualification to hold Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN's) statutory position, Corrupt practice, Monumental fraud Misappropriation.
Yet she speaks in tongues! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nigerian style Christianity!
Its no one's fault that you hang with the dregs of society. Even those ones are not greeing your matter. Hence the bitterness. Take heart. There are some wrinkled white pvssies who may look your way. But you'll have to seek them out here in Nigeria. Cos no one is going to dash your broke arse a visa.
