Please house, I'm a graduate of biochemistry and did my IT at chemical pathology lab, UCH. I want to apply to work in a chemical pathology lab of a private hospital, do I have a chance to be employed?
It Depends on the Hospital.
You are not a MLSt so you are not meant to be there.IT in chem path Lab doesn't Make you an Authority in it.you need a Licence to work as a MLS(Which you don't have).
Just try your Luck. But i know big Private Hospitals would reject you.

As a biochemistry graduate who did his IT in chemical pathology lab, UCH, can he be employed in a private hospital to work in their chemical pathology lab
It depends on the private Hospital.
Normally,You are not meant to be there.
A biochemist cannot work in the capacity of a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
There is More to Laboratory Medicine than what you think you know in the Lab because you did IT in Chem path Lab.
Just try your Luck sha.

Greatest Scientists

i want to ask, are science lab technicians, microbiologists and other related personnels who are not Medical Laboratory Scientist be able to open a laboratory? I mean laboratory for conducting tests such as malaria, typhoid, blood test, widal, etc or is it restricted to just mls graduates?

Thank you!
Only MLS has the licence and the required knowledge to conduct Laboratory investigation for diagnosis purposes.
You can float/own a Laboratory as a technician,MCB etal. But the Running and operation of the Laboratory Must be Manned by a Certified and licenced Medical Laboratory Scientist.

You, you don't even have sense let me not bother replying you.

These days they've just reduced a PhD to mean less. I remember the days of my father when you had to school and school and read to have a master's degree, PhD meant you were a very notable academic.

But whats its worth today? Even Patience Jonathan has a PhD.
This one is Honorary na.. i don't think its equivalent to PhD.

Education / Re: Why Exactly Are State Universities On ASUU Strike? by arinzos(m): 10:41pm On Jan 18, 2019
Nwabundo38:

we pay 402,300 at Anambra state university for medicine while the rest of the students don't pay up to 200 thousand. I have been wondering why I will pay such amount and they still have the mind to keep me at home. it's just too painful. even with the 402,300 we still have problem with cadavas. faculty looking so unkempt.
Maybe the Money is not enough na.

You need to Re-read His Post and Re-Think.
All he is saying is,if Majority of parents would protest instead of Attending rallies,Maybe FG would yield to ASUU demands.

Parents Protest would be way Different from NANS or even Students.

Do you remember Eligibility 2015??....parents Protested and everything was Reversed.

JOHESU declared a strike last year, some of its members were still going to sign attendance registers that were opened by the management, mostly out of inferiority complex. Those names were taken to the minister of health and used to blackmail the labpur leaders and paralize the strike. No sanctions were meted out to such members who defied the directive of the union. It's about stamping your relevance. Do you think JOHESU members will heed the call by their leaders to proceed on another strike when the April and May salaries are still withheld?
That is ehhh, one of my Friend's Mum said they are not going on any Strike.Infact, they were not notified on any strike sef.

Don't try it. Aside government hospitals, Radiographers earn more than every other health professionals currently with doctors inclusive. And your chances of migrating abroad without any exam to practice is very high. Stay on that route and thank me later

I have a few questions...

*What is the best age to start working as a medical laboratory scientist?

*What is the best field for post-graduate studies for a MLS student i.e masters/Phd? or is there anything like masters is MLS?

*What is the average salary of a medical laboratory scientist in Nigeria?
There is no best age to Start working as MLSt.You can start anytime.

We have different specialty. After your 4th/in your final year, you will decide in which aspect you want to specialize and you can also Pursue same to MSc and PhD level.

And YES,we have Postgraduate School where you could pursue Masters and Doctorate Degrees in MLS.

Avaerage salary should be around 100-120k(increases with Experience and acquiring More skills in Laboratory Medicine).
