Every inordinate action has consequences, no matter how long it takes. Ijaws became the favourite tool of the Northern led FG after the war to cripple the Igbo influence in the Eastern region. They were handed control of the Old Rivers state where they did the bidding of the north, changing towns names in PH and rewriting the history of Opobo and Bonny calling them Ijaws.
While they were empowered to manifest their age-long expansionist and pugnacious tendencies, other minorities thought they were winning.
Today, it has gone out of control. They have come to claim the entire costal Niger Delta once placed in their control to helm Igbos in as a landlocked people.
They are claiming coastal Edo in gelegele, claiming coastal Rivers state, and claiming all coastal Akwa Ibom communities of Ibeno. Now, it's coastal Delta state. If the FG does anything, they'll start blowing up pipelines.
The people you all empowered to fight Igbos are now fighting you like Osama did to the US. |

NigeriaIsDoomed: it is an insult to compare Abakaliki with Uyo, you must be joking right? I can only compare Abakaliki with Ikot Ekpene. Uyo is too advanced to be compared with that red mud Abakaliki. you are still posting a single building surrounded by neighborhood living almost in squalor. Go to hotels in Anambra and Rivers and see your people working there and driving keke. They are making a honest living and that's fine. But, it clearly shows a lack of more gainful venture in a state with enormous oil wealth. |

All of them are better what you posted as Uyo, the age-long capital city of a major oil state. Invest in your people instead of cheap publicity.

NigeriaIsDoomed: Pained soul tell us your city. No one is saying that Uyo has arrived but it is glaring that the place is advancing. In the early 2000s Uyo was still a typical village, even Eket was more popular than her cuz of Mobil, however the tide has turned and that explains why you are tagging Uyo the most overhyped city in Nigeria. You have not seen anything yet, just wait until the Deep Seaport, BUA refinery, Morroccan fertilizer/petrochemical plant, the first indigineous floating NLG, Liberty Free Trade Zone, Ibom Industrial city etc all come onstreams, na went una go get heart attack pass. Akwa Ibom/ Uyo dey shock una😂😂😂 you a f**l. Kindly show me residential skyline in uyo. You're showing me useless building and an unproductive airport. |

Foolish people boku for Nigeria. So sky scrapper is now development. This was why awolowo went and built cocoa house in Ibadan. Did it stop Ibadan from becoming a slum? Nigeria doesn't even have a single sky scrapper even though some people are obsessed with it.
Imagine uyo that is still a village. Instead engaging your population in a productive venture, you are dreaming of sky scrapper. |

horsepower102: I know EEDC is a distributor but current laws allow them to also generate. what will propel energy sector growth and development in the south east is competition not monopoly. Favouring Geometric will bring monopoly. Same monopoly that made EEDC complacent. Igbo investors should get licenses, build power plants and EEDC will sit up and start their own. That's how to grow energy sector in a free market economy. |
Politics › Re: Igbos Need To Finance Geometric Power To Purchase EEDC From Emeka Offor by Armaggedon: 5:21pm On Feb 29, 2024 |
horsepower102: This is for igbos to think about. Since EEDC power distribution company was purchased by Emeka offor, the power situation in the south east has not improved.
The company frustrated and bankrupted geometric in court. If not Geometric would have started power supply to Aba years ago.
The owner of the company is not patriotic to Ndiigbo and not willing to make the needed investments needed to improve power supply to the south east.
This is why I propose that we should finance geometric to purchase EEDC.
If geometric purchases EEDC, they can build power plants and distribute locally to different municipalities in the south east.
Think about it. sometimes you guys enjoy talking off point. EEDC is a distribution company. We need and off grid generating company. If our investors can invest on power plant and south east can generate 10k megawatts at least, we should be able to improve the economy of the region. But in Nigeria, corruption is more lucrative than hardwork. |

Lol. Akpabio said the nine states in NDDC are in the Niger Delta region. These are the charlatans that make laws for the country.
Only Bayelsa state, warri areas of Delta state, and the small riverine areas of Rivers state, just below port Harcourt, are geographically Niger Delta. NDDC should be renamed to include all oil producing states, or oil exploitation from the none NDDC states should stop. |
