CultureRe: A Brief Historical Origin Of Ibillo Community In Edo State by Arosam(m): 1:50am On May 21, 2024
Deadlytruth:
You are obviously a typical uneducated Yoruba bigot on an expansionism mission that has already failed. The guy schooled you. Live with that.

Much as you don't have to be Edo before you can know about Edo, you however can't know Edo more than the Edos themselves. I may have a lot of literature about Yorubas at my disposal online but that will and can never make me more knowledgeable about Yorubas than a Yoruba person born and bred in Yoruba land. So when an Edo person born and bred in Edo State speaks you listen and learn from his first hand knowledge rather than insist on the incomplete and inaccurate knowledge you gleaned from online articles and books written by non-native scholars like you. You don't claim you know me more than I know myself. That is absurd and moronic.

So you went all that length to resist the Izoduwa story which appears to you as a Binis' attempt to impose their own version of your identity on you yet you are here at the same time trying to impose your own concocted idea of Akoko-Edo people's Identify and history on them even when an Akoko-Edo person is here refuting it all and telling you the fact as a native? Is that not hypocritic? See your life?

Sorry for you. I am an Akoko-Edo person born and brought up there and still live there. You are hallucinating. Almost all Akoko-Edo towns and villages are inhabited by ancient Bini Migrants. Most of their languages and dialects share a lot of words with Bini Language. Ibillo people are part of the ethnic group called Okpameri which is the largest in Akoko-Edo. Other Okpameri towns are Lampese, Bekuma, Imoga, Kakumo, Somorika, Ekor, Ilepi, Ugboshi Afe, Ugboshi Ele, Makeke, Anyauza, Ogbe, etc. None of them was founded by any Yoruba historical figure. They all migrated from Benin at different times.
The next largest tribe is the Uneme tribe which has towns and villages like Uneme-Nekhua, Uneme Erhurhu, Uneme-Akpama, Uneme-Osu, Ekpedo, etc. None of them was founded by any Yoruba. Unemes are metal smiths till today - a skill they carried from their ancestral Benin home. Their language is almost purely Benin.
Igarra is just the largest town but not the largest tribe. In fact Igarra is the third largest tribe in Akoko-Edo. So your assumption that the largest size of Igarra automatically translates to largest tribe status for them showcases your stark ignorance about Akoko-Edo and further proves that you are on an expansionism mission which will surely fail.
Other Akoko-Edo settlements are Okpe, Ijaja, Enwan, Akuku, Ososo, Egbigere, Sasaro, Ushi, Anyaran, Ojirami, Ojah, Atteh, Ikpeshi, etc. They are all together fifty six in number. None of them has any history of being founded by Yorubas.
Akoko-Edo is in Edo State while Akoko-Ondo is in Ondo State. So I am left wondering what you mean by your claim that they are together. Akoko-Edo was cut into Midwest along with other Edoid tribes because they were clearly not Yorubas and had nothing in common with them otherwise they would have been left in the Western Region during the creation of Midwest.
As for the Yoruba factor about which you exposed immense ignorance, here is the truth, kiss it for once:

The geographical area currently known as Akoko-Edo was initially known as and called Igarra-Edo by the colonial authorities which observed that nearly all the inhabitants are Edoid in language and traditions. The inclusion of Igarra root in the name was on account of the level of primacy which Igarra exhibited among the other settlements even though Igarra was not the largest tribe nor the second largest. However with time and more enlightenment the other tribes began to agitate that the name Igarra-Edo was not truly representative of the actual diversity of the area. But neither did any other single tribe have a simple majority to confer on it the status of overwhelming majority. This led to a logjam which in an attempt to resolve the different tribes, including the Igarrans themselves, had to agree to pick a neutral name to replace Igarra in the name. Owing to historical familiarity with their Akoko neighbors through trade interactions over centuries coupled with the fact that they were already placed in the newly created Western Region, they thought it strategic to adopt the Akoko root and moreso to gain political relevance within the Western Region given the fact that qualification for entitlement from the Regional government was not much by merit as was by real or apparent majority membership.
That was how the people came to use Akoko and not that they we're Yorubas.
However with the creation of Midwest, the Yoruba factor became unnecessary and began to die a natural death. For the teaching of Local Language, schools reverted to teaching the mother tongues of the villages in which they were located and the use of Yoruba language in communication became progressively discouraged and resented. In the end the only Yoruboid village that ever existed in Akoko-Edo and was actually founded by Yorubas was encouraged to get themselves carved into Ondo State. And this was done in IBB's 1991 States creation and boundary adjustment as the village in question called Imeri located on the Northwestern end of Akoko-Edo was carved into Ondo State.
Thereafter Akoko-Edo has become devoid of all traces of Yoruba.
Thank you for the re-education. I am from Ugboshi-Afe. People often see my adopted Yoruba surname and assume I'm Yoruba, even though I speak Okpameri fluently since I was born and raised at home. Some Afojas and those who aspire to be Yoruba mistakenly believe that our native Okpameri language(Edoid), which has never been lost or extinct, originated from Ile-Ife.

An imposter.

Egune and Ebade are Yoruba names. Ame is a Yoruba word.

Anyways, The Yoruba in Bini know themselves and bear Yoruba names. Of course I know all Bini aren't Yoruba but most are, especially the Usen, Uhe, Akoko etc who are Yoruba. Meanwhile, Have you checked Esan DNA? They've got closest DNA with the Yoruba. Esan came out of Bini palace which is Oranmiyan (a Yoruba) palace to establish Esan, a Yoruba name too. So, you can imagine that. If Esan have got closest Yoruba match, there's nothing any useless imposter in Bini can say. It's the imposters who should get out.
You are so petty grin, it's not by force to be Yoruba, We are Okpameri tribe. A stranger want to lecture me about my own people.

I'm a Native of Ugboshi-Afe, we trace our acestory to Benin, we speak Okpameri language (Edoid languages) my Ground father and his kindred adopted Yoruba names during the old Western region. Their native name was "Uri memi". The Yoruba name my ground father adopted was Arowoshegbe, and was later changed to Arowolo by my Dad and his siblings, his native name is Ebhade and my Native name is Egune (Means Self or being aware). We love doing business and associating with Yoruba people in other things but we are not Yoruba.

Health8 Common Eye Care Misconceptions. by Arosam(op):
EIGHT COMMON EYE CARE MISCONCEPTIONS

Has anyone ever told you that reading in dim lighting damages your eyesight? Or, that your eyes can get weaker if you wear prescription lenses? These are just two examples of common eye care misconceptions that are still prevalent today.

Curious about other myths you may have heard about your eyesight? Read on to learn about eight misconceptions—and why these beliefs aren’t actually true!

1. Reading in dim lighting weakens our eyes.

You’ve probably heard at some point in your life that reading in dim lighting can damage your eyesight. However, this isn’t necessarily the case.

Just like every other part of your body, your eyes naturally grow weaker as you get older—especially when you hit your 30s. So, if you once were able to read in the dark and now find it difficult, it probably has more to do with age and less to do with damaged eyesight. In any case, reading is always good for your eye health, so don’t let this misconception keep you from your page-turner!

2. Eating carrots can improve eyesight.

Carrots are loaded with vitamins that are essential for eye health, including Vitamin A and beta-carotene. While these vitamins help protect your eyes and can support overall eye health, eating carrots will not directly improve your eyesight.

Like carrots, dark leafy greens and other fruits and vegetables promote healthy eyesight, but no diet can reverse or correct basic vision problems such as nearsightedness or farsightedness.

3. There’s no way to avoid vision loss with age.

Maybe you’ve heard it’s inevitable that you’ll have to wear glasses when you get older. While it’s extremely common for individuals to develop a need for prescription lenses as they age, it is possible to avoid age-related vision loss.

You can start protecting your eyesight when you’re younger by taking precautionary steps like:

Finding out what eye diseases you’re at a higher risk for
Having regular eye exams
Exercising frequently
Eating a well-balanced diet
Watching for changes in your eyesight
Protecting your eyes from UV rays

4. Sitting too close to the TV damages vision.

When you were little, did your parents ever tell you that sitting too close to the TV would cause you to go blind? While that’s obviously an exaggeration, many do believe that getting too close to the television and other screens can damage your vision. However, this is not backed by any concrete research. Rather, this belief began because the first TVs used to emit radiation—but, this hasn’t been the case for decades!

Children have a tendency to sit close to TV screens and hold books up to their face because their young eyes allow them to focus on close objects more easily than adults’ eyes do. This habit usually changes as they get older—however, if you have an older child who still sits close to screens, it may be a sign of myopia (nearsightedness). Therefore, regular eye exams are important, even for young children, to stay on top of their eye health.

5. Your eyes get weaker if you wear prescription lenses.

Have you ever heard that you should hold off on wearing prescription lenses because your eyes will become dependent on them, causing eyesight to become worse? Well, you may be relieved to know this is just another common misconception!

If you need the assistance of prescription lenses to see more clearly, using those lenses will never make your eyes weaker. As time passes, you may need a stronger prescription, but that has nothing to do with previously wearing glasses or contacts. Instead, it’s the result of your eye condition changing with age and time. Wearing prescription lenses doesn’t make your eyesight weaker; the lenses simply act as an aid to help you see better.

6. You only need to wear sunglasses in the summer or at the beach.

There’s a prevalent belief that you only need to wear sunglasses in the summertime. This, however, is a myth that can actually lead to significant eye damage. The sun’s ultraviolet rays are just as powerful in the winter months as they are in the summer, but UV rays actually reflect more frequently off of snow and cloud coverage.

Your eyes are just as much at risk of photokeratitis (eye sunburn) in the winter as in the summer, so it’s important to wear UV-blocking sunglasses year round, and not just on the beach.

7. A nightlight can contribute to nearsightedness in children.

Have you ever wondered if your childhood nightlight contributed to your nearsightedness? Maybe you have children of your own, and you’re concerned that putting a nightlight in their room might cause the same problem. While this belief stems from a previous research study performed in the 1990s, more recent research has disproved this common eye care misconception. In fact, it’s now believed that placing a nightlight in a baby’s room might actually help improve their eyesight, teaching them to focus on light and develop eye coordination from a young age.

8. You don’t need regular eye exams if you have good vision.

For many patients, annual eye exams seem a little excessive, especially if they don’t have any current eye problems. However, even individuals with 20/20 vision should have regular eye exams to ensure their vision stays in tip-top shape. Many eye diseases develop slowly over time—often without any real warning signs—but can lead to blindness, such as:

Glaucoma
Diabetic Retinopathy
Cataracts
Macular Degeneration

Because these eye diseases develop without overt symptoms, it’s important to have annual eye exams, regardless of your current vision. Only a trained professional will be able to catch these conditions in their early stages, greatly increasing your likeliness of stopping them in their tracks and protecting your eyes.
Many people still believe these common eye care misconceptions, which are often due to old research that experts have since disproved. However, you can protect your vision by learning more about eye care and adopting healthy.

This is really sad. I witnessed similar incident several years ago. It was a fresh accident involving a VW golf that skidded off the highway into the bush. Of course the driver was at top speed which isn't bad on a highway with speed limit of 120km/hr, but there was a big porthole in his lane, which is the bad part the government played.

Two corp members, a male and female, appeared not breathing. A third corp member had multiple lower limb open fractures, her right foot twisted around facing the rear.

I hate it when corp members have to be victims of this nonsense all because they MUST travel to and fro their states of posting. You can postpone or delay most other trips, but a trip to resume at the NYSC camp or PPA isn't what you can postpone.

Our roads are bad, transport system archaic at best and worse, unitrained and non-chalant drivers all over the place.

At last, someone pointed this out. I know they'll be coming for you anyways.

In Nigeria, medical lab scientists are now called medical doctors brandishing stethoscopes, ditto optometrists, radiographers and physiotherapists. Stronger point is, when a lie is repeatedly told, it tends to eventually sound like the truth. Funny though is that you rarely see the medical doctors who are the original repository of the stetoscope going around the whole place brandishing one.

At the risk of being tagged a tribalist, universities in the East shell them out in droves which is not bad in itself, but they are presented to the public as Medical Doctors, especially lab scientists. Sadly it's the general public that are always swayed by this and consult them for comprehensive examination and management. When shit now goes south, referrals will then be to the proper doctor.

Here in the US and I believe in several other western nations, your patient deserves to know everything, so before you even get to business with them, you simply introduce yourself this way: "Please I am an optometrist and not a medical doctor. But I will be seeing you regarding some of the complaints you have"

I hope this little exposé will help someone to properly differentiate when faced with such situation.
You claimed to be exposed, but you lack knowledge concerning the subject matter. But let me enlighten you, Oh no!!, you do the enlightening yourself. https://www.webmd.com/eye-health/eye-doctors-optometrists-ophthalmologists

So sorry for your declining distance vision,
Looks like you are shortsighted (progressive myopia). But note that glasses do not cure, People often misunderstood the use of glasses. Your vision gets corrected when you puts them on and goes back to how it was when you take them off. Unless maybe the purpose of the glasses is for vision training.

Your Spectacle or contact lenses prescription will change as you age. So from time to time you will require new pairs of lenses to see clearer.

Also note that there are other ocular conditions that can lead to reduced vision, so it is very important that you check into an Eye Center or Clinic for an intensive Eye Exam

My dear you are not alone.

Wrong.

It is not COVID-19 destroying cells,

It is cells becoming Covid-19ed. The cells are reconfigured by the radiation to vibrate on a destructive resonance frequency.

Are scientists becoming less intelligent or more stupid to not see it?

It is caused by a signal from the cell environment.
You clearly didn't research the Spectrum of radiation that causes the effect you are trying very hard to explain.

HealthRe: Is Glaucoma Hereditary? Can It Be Cured? by Arosam(m): 8:46am On Feb 09, 2020
Glaucoma AKA the silent thief of sight!, it can be hereditary or acquired. Its a group of eye disease that leads to Optic nerve damage usually characterized by ocular hypertension (increased eye pressure). There are of two types: Open angle glaucoma and closed angle glaucoma (acute).

Now why is it called "the silent thief of sight"? The disease do not affect your central vision initially thereby giving you the false believe that nothing is wrong with your eyes. Nerves cells damage usually starts from the periphery, the ones responsible for side Vision. Note also that these peripheral nerve cells are populated by cells called (Rod Cell) this cells only sees black and white, so since we are in a colourful world we barely notice that something that may lead to Reduced Vision or possibly total blindness is happening to us.

However, the good news is that the disease can be detected at an early stage. The reason why people are scared of this condition is because of Nigeria factor i.e we don't go for medical checkup unless we are in pain or something abnormal is discovered. So most patients usually become aware they have it at moderate to severe stage.
The only way to avoid stories that touches the heart is to have a regular eye checkup.

On a foot note, if you have already be diagnosed of glaucoma, fear not for there are remedies even though cure hasn't be discovered yet. The current treatment regimen involves the use of Antiglaucoma eyedrops, Special Formulations( Anti-oxidants), Surgery. Scientists are currently working on a lasting solution.

Advice: We eat everyday because being alive depends on it. So the daily use of medication shouldn't be a problem. For those on medication, Think of it as your eyes will go hungry if you don't use them.

Treatment might be a little expensive but not as expensive as Blindness
