I think you flunked on the Phd v Masters part, but you were lucky she did not hold you to that. You could have said since bachelor's is not research-based, Master's partially is, you need a smooth transition to doctorate which is wholly research-based.

Any prospective graduate student that writes and gets a good GRE score has increased their chance of success. Even if it is waived for you, go ahead and write it. Why?

1) It costs about 40K naira. This shows that you have extra money.
2) Getting good scores in the exam proves that you are, at least 60%, a genuine student.

By the way, GRE was also waived for me. Why did you remove your interview post?

If you are 21yrs old, finished secondary education at the of 15 with 8 A1s in your WAEC, graduated with a 1st Class in a Nigerian University at 21, scored 1570 in GRE, got admitted to one of US ivy leagues for a Masters, and confidently able to break down Theory of Computations to the VO in 1minute, I doubt if any right thinking VO will want you to leave the US after your education.

They can understand that your certificate can not yet be ready. Go to your interview with a color print-out of your result and a WAEC scratch card. At the same time, you might want to do a confirmation of results. You do this by going to the WAEC head office in Yaba, Lagos, and paying some certain amount-about 10k. WAEC will then send an official statement of your results directly to the embassy.

What are you presently doing in terms of academic? Are you sure all your details match in all your documents? Have you done your medicals?

Since you have very good results in your Olevel, the consular officer might want to verify that you can defend your results. If you wrote the exam yourself, then you have nothing to fear: you will get your visa.

I would advise that you do a thorough revision on all those subjects, especially those that you have A & B grades.

If the last four digits of your case number is less than 7000, that means your interview is in Oct. Nigeria is 5hrs ahead of Kentucky and KCC is open between 8-5pm, Kentucky time, Mon to Friday. Find a CDMA phone (Multilinks, Starcomm, Visafone, etc.) to call them because they are cheaper (about 10Naira per minute). You might have to wait for about 10-20mins before a human attends to you.
You can get the police certificate in a day.

Always research very well and think before you talk or post. No University will offer an Electrical Engineering graduate a direct admission to study for a Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering. That is common sense. There is no way that the prerequisites could have been satisfied. Being a present graduate student, you should have told him that straightaway. You should not have come here for an answer.

The solution: applications for MS Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering stand better chances of positive considerations.

And I said NO, he should be very careful of what he says, that every place has its own problems and it is a matter of time before he realises that in the USA. For example,

1) You live in California, you stand a very good chance of getting killed in an earthquake. If it were Oklahoma, Missouri, etc., you can easily die from tornado. Texas, Lousiana, etc., hurricane can easily kill you. You ever heard of those in Nigeria?
