PoliticsRe: Buhari Has Announced Professor Yemi Osinbajo As Running Mate [Confirmed] by arsetalks(m): 12:33pm On Dec 17, 2014
chrisbaba1:
iGBO KE, Iro o. i dont care about Tinubu, i care for real change, APC has to use every legal strategy in the book to win. Osibanwo is a yoruba, so who appeals to the igbos or Southerners? Remember the distrust by igbos of a hausa and yoruba leader, we have to represent their interests to gather their votes, yorubas are less sentimental about the tribe of the leaders, as long as he is a performer, the south on the other hand has been sidelined for long they dont trust yoruba and hausa, we could have allowed amaechi. This decision by APC leadership is very very faulty as far as im concerned.
You are wrong there. There is no how you can convince those in the SS and SE to vote against GEJ enmass. No bigotry but the electorate in those regions have their minds made up. They see GEJ as one of their own even if he is not doing anything for them.

Like I said before, I mean no bigotry, in fact, some of my best friends are from the SE/SS but let's call a spade a spade, they won't vote for an hausa man even if you make the vice from their region.

The most important thing is to ensure the SW is secured. If APC can get even 20% from the SE/SS and ensure PDP do not get more than 20% in the SW then they will win the election ( my thought).

You're correct but I still believe that sticking in the SW is the best option.

SS/SE is locked down for PDP/GEJ. Even if the VP slot is given to them, APC is not guaranteed 30% of the votes. This is incontrovertible.
Add that to the NC and the chance that they can make an incursion into the SW who will not be too keen to vote Buhar/SS and you have them winning another landslide so to say.

As things are now, with vigorous campaign in the SS, 20% of the votes is enough once North and SW are in the kitty.
I agree with you totally. Who is SS between?
PoliticsRe: Buhari Has Announced Professor Yemi Osinbajo As Running Mate [Confirmed] by arsetalks(m): 11:28am On Dec 17, 2014
It is a good thing that he has picked someone from the SW however, I do not think the election will be won in the SW. I strongly believe the election will be LOST in the NE. The sincere truth is that the shoeless man knows Buhari has a good chance of swaying all the votes in the SW and NE hence he has allowed the unrest in the NE to linger on.

How on earth will you expect people to come out and vote in the NE with so much unrest in that region? People will not come out for the fear of the loss of their lives and rightly so.

I just hope a miracle happens and those in the NE behave like a wounded lion/a fallen man who fears no fall and come out enmass to exercise their franchise.

PassingShot:
Be it Osinbajo, Oshiomole or Amaechi, it's a sure success.

Congrats to you GMB for sticking with someone from the SW where the election will be decided.

In 2011, Buhari did not have the support of Tinubu, Fashola and all other APC politicians which he now enjoys. I am very sure that Osinbajo was nominated by Tinubu after Buhari rejected him for the slot. So, Tinubu and the rest APC governors will surely deliver the votes.

Going SS would have been much more difficult to sell to the Yorubas because the ticket does not guarantee them the presidency even in the next eight years especially when they have been marginalized by GEJ for the past six years. So, how do you convince them to troop out on election day?

All in all, I see this choice as the best option to defeat PDP.

PDP/GEJ now be like " ... shitting in their pants"
PoliticsRe: Failure To Pick Tinubu As The VP Candidate Will Tear APC Apart. by arsetalks(m): 8:20am On Dec 17, 2014
Tinubu the right man for the job? Says who? If there must be a muslim muslim ticket then it should go to Fashola

Tinubu has been around for a while hence people think he is so popular. Fashola will not only lockdown SW votes. He will also get a good amount of votes in the SE and SS. Fashola's wonderful performance in Lagos is still fresh in the minds of Nigerians.

You advocating for Tinubu should ask yourselves what he did in Lagos. Yes he brought in Fashola, yes he is APC but do the electorates really understand this?

APC will be making a mistake if they field Tinubu as vice. Not just tenable.

Nobody will vote for osibanjo because Osibanjo was part of tinubu boys who stole all of the money of lagos. We are talking of nearly a budget $20 billion... and they had little to nothing to show for it.

Tinubu and obasanjo most have had the same father... they don't give a shiit about the people. they are only interested in wak and die. osibanjo will not win in his local government, not to talk of his church

Some of the rubbish comments on this thread is a further proof that the problem in this nation is far deeper than GEJ ( even though you can't change my mind about the shoeless one).

Falanna out of all the Barristers we have in this nation, has taken it upon himself to save us all but all what you people can say is some bullcrap.

Disgusting. Have any of you ever sat down and think of what effect the nonsense Coca-Cola is doing will have on the country?

This is NOT so much about any cabal.
No, it is NOT!

It is about our clueless rejection of the subsidy removal & DEREGULATION of the petroleum sector. We would have suffered higher prices initially as with mobile phones & cement but with-

- new investors
- increased supply
- increased COMPETITION

price will start REDUCING after a while.

A clueless fool who does not sacrifice today will be a SLAVE to his neighbour who did, tomorrow.
No short-cut in life really except the one that will cut you short shocked
QED!!!
Some of your points are good globally but when you bring them to Nigeria's level, you will know they are not tendable here.

1. Why is it that diesel which has been deregulated for a while now has its price still extremely high. What makes you think same will not happen to PMS when deregulated?

2. We shout of scam in fuel subsidy, whose fault is it? Is it the fault of the citizenry or that of the government? Why is it that not a single person has been jailed over this fuel subsidy scam thing we all shout about? Is it the citizenry that will prosecute and recover money from the fraudsters?

3. What exactly has the government done with the extra 32 naira accrued to the government from the pump price?

4. Why has the amounts paid by FG as fuel subsidy gone up by x2 even when we have experienced a 32 naira increment in price?

5. Why are our refineries not working? We were told they will become functional this year with the extra from the increase in pump prices but just 16 days to the end of the year, nothing has been done?

6 why do you honestly think if the above raised points have happened, why should government be trusted? We gave them 32 naira extra from our pockets, they did f*ck all with it, why should we give them more?

7. Do you and the government think we are so dumb? You were importing Oil at a particular rate and sell at another rate ( to make profit) now the price you purchase has decreased and you all of a sudden want to continue to sell at the old price? How does that work especially as billions are still being paid as subsidy?

Educate us if you can.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Is Our Candidate-north by arsetalks(m): 7:21pm On Dec 12, 2014
I wonder how people expect a man who can not honour his own promise of not contesting for a second term to govern the country rightly.

A man who can not tame his loose wife shouldn't rule this nation.

A man who when he was a kid, his parents bought him shoes, he out of careless lost the shoes thereby bringing shame and ridicule to his family should not be made the president.

They call him goodluck, I challenge anyone. To check his life, he brings misfortune to people to fulfil his own ambition.

Former Bayesa governor had to go to jail so he can become president, Yaradua had to die now he has brought so much misfortune to the country as well. The earlier we both him out the better. We have had enough badluckm

You don't know your money won't buy you peace, the peace of the nation that GEJ through his political selfishness has taken away.
