muafrika: @ArtanK, I once came across one politically incorrect blog trying to prove the book of Genesis with anthropology. Any who, she writes about a prehistoric kingdom of Kush, split in two, one in northern Africa and the other in the middle East. They were founded by two brothers. The Dinka/Nuer ascertain themselves as descendants of the kingdom of Kush, which leaves you, Somalis-and I suspect, other cushitic people as you share the same spirit(the charcteristic cross eye of most cushites that would allude to an East Asian mix, in addition to neighbouring peoples) having back migrated into Africa in recent history as the most likely other half of the Kingdom.
That's absurd man come on.
Keywords: incorrect and blog.
Anyone can jot something down on a blog and claim that it's scientific research.

Genetics prove that Somalis and other Cushtic groups in the Horn are closer to the Berbers of North Africa despite living just next door to Nilotic people.

muafrika: @ArtanK, And long limbs, slender bone structure, and for some of you, an exeptionally dark chocolate colour, like the Orma who keep fighting with the Pokomo Bantu farmers.
Our elongated body shapes doesn't prove that we are half Nilotic and half Arab though

muafrika: @ArtanK, its history and your genetics puts you with the sudanese.
If you're talking about the Cushtic Beja in Sudan, you're correct but if you're insinuating that many Somalis are mixed thus makes them similar to the mixed Sudanese Arabs then you are incorrect mate. The only thing we have in common is Islam.

muafrika: Fulaman198: Of course like other cushites, you intermarried with nilotes, plus, west African is not an identity. Tutsies of Rwanda are related to you, and I suspect the Somali and few other East African tribes masquerading as bantu. This seems to be the history of subsaharan Africa. The Bantu subded the pygmy and hottentots, and were in turn overun by Arabic/Cushitic nomadic invaders who usurped their estabished systems and language, after which European colonialists subdued them all, and on our fake indepence, they instituted puppet governments of the previously subdued. Only Ethiopia escaped colonialism.

The reason I refer to Fulani as Arabs is that they treated their subdued people as their Arabic fathers before them, in culture and slave trade. Your origin is among African Arabs. You Fulani are also related to the more Arabic Tuareg. Its your blood more than it is about your skin colour. Somalis have embraced their half Arab side, though similarly, some may be in doubt of their nilotic half.
What kind of tomfoolery is this? Somalis are not half Arab and half Nilotic.
CultureRe: Somali Proverbs by ArtanK(m): 4:56pm On Oct 01, 2014
Laya: Their genetics put them right in east Africa, going by their genetics unless they migrated to Madagascar
and back to east Africa. The Somalis genetics also put them in east Africa for thousands of years.
The Oromo and Somalis are predominantly E1B1B with a lot of other similarities, such as language, preIslamic
name for "God", looks and so on.
I'm not disputing that, just stating their version of their history.
It is no secret that they are a confederacy though, there are many Somali & Afar clans who are classed as Oromo in Ethiopia.

CAMNEWTON4PRES: So it's no longer Mozambique ? it's now northern Kenya LFMao

You conquered that desert par from who? What institution was there? What kingdom? What empire ? What ethnicity?

Will b waiting bring me evidences of how you conquered it which means how u removed the Bantu occupants ...keep exposing your lies
You knucklehead, I know you're francophone but wtf, can your tiny brain compute simple English or nah?

Somalis were raiding and conquering so much land from bantus that they had complained to their British Massa and if your British Massa hadn't stopped us, you would have been crying from Mozambique today.
That's what I said. I never said we took Mozambique. If you can't understand that then there is no point of debating with you.

And tell me what lies you've caught me out on?

1. You said Somalis lived in present day Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and etc around 1000 BC and the Bantu migrants took their land. That's a lie. At that time Somalis lived in the Northern part of Ethiopia.

2. You said that the Bantu taught the cushites how to farm and so on. That's a lie. It was the southern Cushites who taught the Bantu about crop cultivation, irrigation, livestock husbandry and many other things... Basically how to farm properly.

3. You said that we (Somalis) never took land from the Bantu. That's a lie. I've shown you a credible source that clearly states that the Garre Somali pushed Bantu people from the river Juba to deep inside Kenya.

I'll be back soon though, I'll show you multiple sources describing exactly how we conquered the land and which Somali clans that did it. grin

CAMNEWTON4PRES: Kenya 1974? right lmfa you are a joke this is a doctored picture

I constantly check Bantu census in east Africa kenya is considered Bantu territory the largest group being also a Bantu clan, now you show me a map let's say somalians even occupies such a large portion of Kenya ,you are still under bantu administration you are indeed the definition of conquered land, no needmto say that most of the somalians living in that region are refugees coming from Somali the zone is full of refugee camps and other soamlians who settled there , just like bakassi (Nigeria vs Cameroon ) there are more Nigerians living there still it is a Cameroonian territory under Cameroon administration

Let's use words that you understand , a chip on my shoulder over what? You are the ones who started talking about Cushitic now that we have proved beyond any doubt that we shagged, dominated, conquered and civilized Cushitic u are attempting a gymnastic to remove somalians , are u guys no longer Cushitic ? Imas a Bantu from Cameroon can say the somalians never raided my land ? So ? We are talking in general Cushitic vs Bantu regardless the clan

And if indeed the Somalians escaped the Bantu domination it explains why they still remain the uncivilized in eastern Africa
There are almost 3 million Somalis in that region and less than half a million are refugees. They are going back to good old Jubbaland now that Alshabab is gone.

You were the one who started talking about Somalis first mate then when I proved that we came from the North you switched it to Cushites. I'm a proud Cushite and if Bantus had displaced a few of us thousands of years ago, it was only because the Somalis weren't present. We were too busy fighting with the Habesha in Ethiopia and Eritrea.

You mention Italians colonising Somalis LOL every Tom, Dick and Harry knows that certain Somali clans sought for help from the Italians so they could defend themselves from other powerful clans. The Dervish warriors fought against the British, Ethiopians and Italians and all three enemies had Somalis soldiers and generals working for them because it wasn't in their best interest.

You can also keep on repeating that Somalis are uncivilised but the fact is we were a monumental part of the greatest civilisations to ever grace the African continent.

The land between Somalia's main rivers Shabelle and Jubba is arable land.

CAMNEWTON4PRES: I will b waiting for you tomorrow or another day , be sure that I will answer ...I will pat more recent news about somalians begging Bantu for food and Somalian women trying to put their bastards children on Bantu soldiers
LOL! Are we talking about women now? Weak guy lmao. The one woman who married a Ugandan soldier doesn't represent all Somali women. If you wanna talk about women, I suggest you have a word with Axum/Ajuran.

But anyways you can read here how the Oromo + Garre, Darod and other Somali clans pushed the Bantus from the Jubba river(some 200 km) inside Somalia to past the river Tana in Kenya.

It is suggested that Garre or proto-Garre Somali gained control of the area between the Juba and the Tana rivers before the Galla arrived in this area, and that in the process the Garre were responsible for pushing Bantu-speaking peoples back to the river Tana. However, it is also argued that the area initially controlled by Bantu-speaking peoples in the Horn of Africa was much more limited than is generally assumed. It is then suggested that around the sixteenth century the Orma Galla migrated to the coast from southern Ethiopia via the Lorian Swamp and the river Tana and not by the river Juba as is generally argued. The arrival of the Orma led to a further retreat of Bantu-speaking peoples towards the Sabaki river, and then to a retreat of the Somali northwards in the direction of the Juba river. In this way the nineteenth-century Somali drive southwards can be seen to some extent as a reconquest of land occupied earlier by them.
Source: The Journal of African History (1975) by E. R Turton.

Not only did we take land from the Bantu but also from the Galla who outnumber Somalis immensely. The Somali expansion in the south began in 1805. grin

You keep repeating that Ethiopia and Somalia is a dry and barren land. Have you forgotten that it was the Bantu slaves that worked on the Somali farms in South Somalia? And you must be put of your mind if you think that Ethiopia is barren. Less than 20% of the land is a desert, the rest is covered with green and lush valleys.

That's if such thing ever existed
Furthermore you talking about british shows again that you are in a very recent timeline , we had already settled there for millenniums

Now if we see it form a different angle why the obsession with Mozambique ? Probably because it was your homeland and you were displaced by the powerful Bantu . Thats a guess don't tremble yet
Just because you don't understand English, I will repeat it in simple English. Somalis were raiding and conquering so much land from bantus that they had complained to their British Massa and the British Massa hadn't stopped us, you would have been crying from Mozambique today. But don't worry we are not like the southern cushites, Somalis only conquer land and we don't lose.

For the millionth time Somalis are newcomers to South Somalia and Kenya so of course I'm talking about recent history.

For you to absorb any Khoisan groups it means you lived in southern Africa and present , now there are no more cushitic anywhere in southern Africa so what does that tell ...your guess is good as mine knowing well that the Bantu are 99% of southern Africa
Ok I may have been wrong on one occasion but hey you were the one who claimed that you brought civilisation to the 'wild Somalis'. When I proved to you that we came from up north you changed it to we taught Cushites how to farm and build irrigation systems. You were wrong on both occasions.
The fact is Bantu's have never conquered any land from Somalis, history proves that we conquered thousands of miles with a few good horsemen, swords and spears. Furthermore Bantus would have been complaining to the British from Mozambique if they hadn't stopped our expansion.

Laya: Some Oromo said the name "Galla" was given to them by the Amharas, which the Oromos view as derogatory, and that
Oromo is their correct name. What I am wondering is - is there a connection between the ancient Egyptian(Kemet) name
"rm, or "rom" which means "men, the people, men above men" and the name "Oromo" especially in the sense where it means
people (the Oromos) like the term Bantu which also means the people. If that's the case not only would "Oromo" means the same thing as
the ancient Egyptian (Kemet) "rm, or "rom" but also basically the same word.

Also the fact that the ancient Egyptian (Kemet) didn't use vowels therefore they would write the word
"Oromo" as "rm"
The Oromo themselves claim they were originally from Madagascar and they migrated to Ethiopia and Kenya gradually. The name Oromo was first used by historians a couple of centuries ago despite the Oromo being older than the Somalis, they were called Galla or Gaallo/Gaalmadow (btw we gave them that name) while famous historians wrote about Somalis as far back as the 11th century.

again, there were already khoisan people in southern africa before the bantu migration, those in south east africa were replaced ( same cushites), but there're still few remaining in the region.
Although it is not a viable reference, I've done some research myself and it turns out that the Iraqw and other groups are cushtic. I always thought they were Khoisan, they could be one of those khoisan groups that was absorbed by the southern cushites before the Bantu migration but that's just a speculation.

You might have just blown your trolling "white" racists pretending to be Somali cover with that statement.
HA HA, "Amahara and Tigrey" is not "Cushitic" they are Semitic, HA HA.

Moreover: many "Amahara, Tigrey" and "Cushitic" overlap with Bantus in their looks, and don't all look the same way,
and don't look like "white people" but look like African Blacks and predominantly think of them selves as such.

The real cave man is your masters. If you are a Somali(indigenous) you are retarded and slave minded to the point
that you reverence the "white" man your master and what he do, and say to the point you even think you

So far only Ethiopian
Somali people too, but because most clans had their own kingdom/sultanate/geradship we had multiple scripts. The Latin orthography was only adopted in 1972. There is hope of bringing back those lost scripts, I hope that happens sometime soon.

This is called Osmanya and it was used by my clan in the north east.
