Yes with a balance less than 300k, she should.

Lol, the whole city smells? as if i most times sat in my hotel rooms?

When you say the whole city smells, have you been to some part in London, Frankfurt, Berlin, New york, etc?

"With a balance less than 300k"

Sometimes it's like people don't think how much do you think two years' rent and house furnishing costs in Lagos? Do you think that's something I could have paid for along with a multi-city flight ticket and other normal expenses if 300k is what's normally in my bank account, or that the embassy is stupid to have approved a two month trip based on 300k alone?

All I will say is don't drag finances with who you don't know.

As to your other comment, yes people like you take these cities as the pinnacle of travel achievement as if air pollution, congestion and landmarks that have been thoroughly cheapened by mass media are what everyone is looking for on vacation. Abi is it buildings and trains we've never seen before? Anyway you're welcome to continue to do so grin but I hope for your own sake that one day you step out of that bubble and go somewhere that will actually wow you. A single day of snorkelling in Tulum was a greater experience than all the cities I've ever stepped in put together.

Hello,

You planned to use 60 days, i hope your visa has a 90 days stay?

Because the three months you were granted is just the visa validity period.

Regards,

oh yeah I forgot to mention that part, the stamp says 70 days stay

Lol. Nothing again o. Once you see the Eiffel tower, Louvre musuem, notre dam (closed) and champs elyse, e don finish

I don't understand people that travel to France for tourism and stay in Paris. If you do even a little research you'll see that that city is highly overrated as a travel destination

Not even only France, in most countries the capital and most big cities will be oriented towards government, business, industry, finance, etc (as they should) not holiday-goers. There will still be tourist attractions and entertainment but if you don't know somebody who lives there that can show you around properly, you won't have the best time

If you're travelling solo and you really want to enjoy yourself, look for where the country's own citizens go to for vacation if they can. In this case that would be the south/the French Riviera. Beautiful towns and villages, fresh air, plenty plenty beaches, and the people are friendlier

u need to wait within 2 days oo they always ask for address maybe u forget i wish you best of luck

Thank you, it was delivered yesterday. Issued a multiple-entry visa valid for three months.

The funny thing is that I didn't even have proof of funds grin the total money in my accounts as at the time I submitted wasn't even up to 300k. Though I'm a frequent traveller (to the US, first time EU) and I explained in my cover letter that last month I paid two years' rent hence the temporary shortage of funds. I also had my ticket fully paid for already.

Good afternoon all,

I submitted my application and biometrics on the 15th and got an email today saying my passport has been sent back to the VAC and is ready for collection. Then I got another email few minutes later saying my passport has been dispatched to UPS

My question is, I can't remember if I asked for my passport to be returned by courier or not. In my appointment letter it doesn't include courier in the list of services I paid for.

Should I wait for UPS to deliver to my address or should I go back to VFS? Thank you

Any thoughts on this please? Thank you

Hello all, please I have a question

How long can I expect the evaluation process to last after submitting my application and biometrics at VFS? I am asking because I have a trip planned that departs to the US on the night of June 30 and (ideally) from there to France the following week. I filled in the visa forms and all but the earliest available appointment date I'm seeing is June 22. If I take that date can I reasonably expect to get my passport back before my travel date?

Thanks.

This is all a myth that seems to be regurgitated over and over. There’s no obligation on the part of an applicant to use their visa. I read a comment on here maybe a few pages back about someone who hadn’t used their last 2 visas and had no problems renewing. I can also say the same thing for my aunt who just renewed recently. Meanwhile folks who have used their visas religiously and staying no more than 2 weeks at a time still get denied. There are all sorts of reasons for denial but being denied for lack of visa use makes little sense. Anyway just my opinion.

Hmmm, I know it's not exactly the same thing but take for instance this B1/B2 visa I just renewed, it was the company I was working for at the time that sponsored the original visa so that I could attend some meetings at their headquarters. After I left that company (before the expiration of the visa) I was shocked to get a call from the US embassy asking me to come in for an interview. They were fully ready to revoke the visa as per I no longer have the need or ability to use it. I was just lucky that I'd already made travel plans to attend a business conference and visit family in the following few months and my former HR advised me that I should take evidence of that with me as well as plenty proof of financial support. A few other people who entered the embassy with me had their visas revoked.

Again I know it's not the same thing and I don't expect it to be one-size-fits-all but it wouldn't surprise me if a VO was biased against an application because they feel the applicant will not use the visa. Especially since it's not like it was a flat out rejection, they may just want the person to come in and defend their travel plans.

You can track it to know if it was issued. You will get a mail telling you to go pick. Since you are picking up from Lagos, give a few days and go check.

Thank you, I figured out how to track the application and it has been issued!!! grin grin grin I'm so so happy, I haven't seen my nephew since he was born, now I will get the chance to carry him

A very big thank you to everybody who has posted advice, available dates and even just humour to keep the mood up, may all your stories also end in joy

I will give it until Thursday next week and then check with DHL for my passport

Hello house,

I did my IW dropoff for a B1/B2 visa in Abuja (to be picked up in Lagos) on the 19th of April and received an email at 6:30pm today stating that my passport has been collected from the US embassy.

I have two questions,

1. Since I didn't get any other email, I can safely assume the visa has been granted, right?
2. Does this mean that my passport is available for pickup in Lagos now or will I have to wait for communication from DHL to know when I can get it?

Thank you

His passport did not carry a different date of birth by magic. He voluntarily agreed to falsify his age on his passport. He should carry his own cross.

I tire o, why would somebody even need falsify his age for a visa application?

It happened to me also, I think its just too many people on at once. I chose a different date/time and was able to book

Ah, I also tried different times and got an error each time. That's alright then, I'll try again tomorrow or whenever dates are out again

Hello, first of all thanks to those who posted the availability of IW dates on this forum. Secondly though, I went to try and book an appointment and I kept getting a message saying an error occurred when scheduling and I should try again. Eventually I got blocked from viewing the appointments date page for today (until tomorrow).

I am not too concerned about that because I'm eligible for the waiver until May, but I'd like to know if anyone has had a similar experience with booking appointments. I'm concerned that there may be incorrectly entered info somewhere that's preventing me from scheduling an appointment.

Hello,

Has anyone else ever had strange misinformation in a visa rejection letter? Mine says that I claimed that I work in the Ministry of Health as a medical doctor and that the proof of employment I submitted does not support that. Wetin concern me with hospital? I cross-checked with my application form (which I saved) and my real employer and field of employment is correctly entered there. How software engineering turned to Ministry of Health, I don't know.

The other reason for the rejection was that my stated income was not supported by my documents and that one is actually true because looking at it now I mistakenly entered my annual income as my monthly income though my employment contract does state my annual salary. I feel like them sef should have understood because how can someone make £50k+ a month If in the future I apply again and fill my correct salary per period does that count as a change in circumstances? Actually not sure if I will bother applying again because the thing I wanted to attend has even passed

You want to ask them what again?
When they will include your 2024 date or a new set of dates?
Why do we like to they pour sand sand for garri and be doing begi begi

Since you don't seem to be able to understand simple English, I emailed both Lagos and Abuja embassies to ask if there are any plans to open separate interview waiver applications the way it works in other countries (and the way that dropbox apps used to work).

I'm sorry if the only way that you know how to communicate is begging, but don't project that on me please and thank you.

I don't understand your tone. What I want to ask them about is in the same sentence you're replying to.

This matter of interview waiver for persons with expired Visas is becoming confusing. I did get in touch with the US consulate in Abuja yesterday and below was there response:

Ah. At least they're aware of it, even if it seems they're only offering it to people that have close interview dates. I will reach out to them as well, also hopefully it expands to include more people in the coming months.

Thank you!

Hello,

I have a US visa (B1/B2) that expired May 2020 and I lapsed on renewing it because of pandemic wahala. I'm starting a fresh application to visit family this year ending (by God's grace) and a friend of mine told me that there's a new directive from the US government extending the period for granting interview waivers to up to 24 months after expiry. I saw some articles from late last year that mention that, however when I checked the USTravelDocs site for Nigeria it was still showing 12 months.

Please does anybody have any information about this?

Your new passport carries your old passport number that covers it. No need scanning it

Oh okay thank you, I did my biometrics today and I've been worried

Hello again,

This might be a silly question, but my current passport is very new (renewed less than a month ago) and so the only travel history in it is my end of year vacation. However in my application I filled in my earlier travel history as well. Should I have scanned my old passport and included it in my documents? sad

The one you generate from your ebanking is enough and that is all i usually use for my applications. If your statement is genuine you have no cause to be scared if it’s from the bank or generated via ebanking. In the end it’s your statement and that’s that matters.

Oh thank you, the account is genuine I just wanted to be sure of what I'm doing before I upload rubbish

Also consider applicants that are still waiting and had their biometrics way back in Oct in Abj TLC. And actually 22-6 (12 business days though).
You maybe better calling off the trip and look forward to it at a later time. However, go with your heart.
Best of luck

I know some are still waiting, it's hope I'm using to hope cry I decided to go forward with the application but informed the event organisers that it's a very very long shot. Going in to do my biometrics on Thursday morning, worst case scenario is that I lose less than N100k in fees.

A question about the self-service doc upload, is the bank statement that you can generate online okay or do I need one that has been signed/stamped by the bank?

Also I thought TLSContact was closed during public holidays, that's why I thought it was ten business days.

Hello people, please I need your advice. This week I was invited to an event that holds in the UK at the end of this month. It would be my first time visiting the UK, but I have attended a few conferences in the US (pre-pandemic) and I also went on vacation in the Maldives last year. I know visitor visas can be fast-tracked but when I checked TLSContact it seems the super priority visa service is temporarily not available. Now I'm not sure what to do. If I start a normal application now, is there any chance I can get the visa and my passport back before the 28th which is the latest I can fly out for the event? Should I wait a little and hope that the priority services will come back sometime in the next few days or should I just tell the organisers that I won't be able to make it? Thanks
