Mali, Faso, and Niger; three of some the poorest countries on Earth with some of the worst militaries on Earth who are landlocked and dependent on the coastal ECOWAS nations for virtually all of there trade, energy, and food have absolutely NO LEVERAGE OR BARGAINING CHIP whatsoever.

The current coup leader in Niger is a general that seized the opportunity exploiting the legitimate grievance of the populace in order to establish a new dynasty made up of his family and friends. He’s already made it clear he has no attention of ever converting to civilian rule. Just another forever dictator ready to pocket most of what little he’s nation has. Civilians that don’t agree with him are already being targeted.

Nobody not even the rest of the West outside of France would have cared if his junta just agreed to convert to civilian rule eventually but no he’s the new prez for life.

Niger similar to Mali is just turning into another hotbed basket case of various Juntas factions, islamist, French muppets, and now foreign mercenaries in the form of Wagner who are run by Russia another Neo-colonialistic nation. A breeding ground from Hell. Nobody sane wants that at there borders.

If they dont like bad governance,why are they governing poorly once they take over from the so said bad leadership? For example, All these coup leaders have not yet transformed these economies.But when you go in Asia you will see some military leaders who did very well eeconomically.

But in africa,a coup after a coup,nothing much have done economically.That tells us the motives for these coups were never about removing bad government.

Most military regimes in Asia lead to significant development outside of the military related institutions. The successful ones are in the extreme minority. Current China was founded upon a civil war which is virtually not to different from a coup.

I already answered your question; but you seem to be having trouble comprehending it. I’ll clarify further.

West Africans don’t like bad governance or foreign domination like all sane socio-groups on Earth while your region have long historically been groomed and complacent towards it to the point it’s the natural way of life.

Just because because Uganda, Burundi, Mozambicans, Malawi, and others from your neck of the woods are fine living in terrible governments, puppet states, and(or) in general neo-colonialic conditions because they historically & culturally don’t no any better alternative so they don’t bother with coups doesn’t me we share the cultural complacency or political situation.

When ECOWAS intervenes in English speaking and Portugese speaking West Africa like Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia, SaoTome, and more recently Guinea Bissau (whose President is currently being protected by ECOWAS military with 172 soilders Buhari sent from Nigeria in 2022 at the request of Guinea Bissau president), why do people not accuse ECOWAS of doing the bidding of the West or France?

Nigerian soilders have been in Liberia and Gambia till this day and trains the Liberian airforce. It's so less complicated but when it comes to French colonies, it's always complex why?

Because it doesn’t fit the current black & white narrative being chest beat by the wannabe Hebrew pyramid internet warrior types.

They’ve already set the scenario in their heads and they don’t want to hear or accept any other viewpoint. Nothing else matters.

The Francophones & others shouldn’t be trusted outside of maybe Senegal and Benin to a degree. These days there hotbed basket cases split between Juntas, Islamist, Neo-Colonial France, and an opportunistic Russia.

But I’d argue the opposite in that they should be within Nigeria’s AORs. You can never maximize potential while the neighborhood is on fire. Nigeria shouldn’t let them fall to France, Russia, Juntas, or fanatics. As long as they’re volatile Nigeria will be as well. It should instead incorporate them into its own region centric sphere completely “politically” independent from the rest.

I support whatever it realistically takes to clean up this Sahelian situation I just hope when the dust clears Nigeria is able to install the regimes.

I almost didn’t mind these coups. Many of there grievances are legitimate. The problem is the military regimes never transfer towards civilian rule. If they did that very few outside of France would care. These are just opportunistic generals trying to establish their Dynasties.

The opposite actually. Nigeria has been practicing some of the best foreign policy in Africa regarding the Russia-Ukraine War and regional coups.

Giving a vague condemnation of the wars and coups.

This has allowed it to stay uninvolved and out of the spotlight of either side. Which means it still gets to benefit from both sides without coming under fire like South Africa & others the past few months.😂

It’s also been expanding its oil & gas industry on its on terms to exploit the short falls of Russian gas in Europe while still practicing the usual trade with the ruskies. Which is important for the country’s military & agricultural needs.

The parasitic French backed regimes in the region have been long overdue for a fall. Wether they can make a turn around like Rwanda is up to them.

One thing is for sure it gets France out of Nigeria’s neighborhood allowing for true regional hegemony.
