MAN ABANDONS WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN IN POS SHOP AS COLLATERAL AFTER COLLECTING MONEY IN BENIN |
Intolerant set of people. That's why they are far behind. They can never tolerate or stand someone criticising them or their decisions. You can't see development in that way. That's just the pure truth. |
My name is ThankGod Okuk, I left for Abuja on Thursday 17th December 2020 in order to attend a friend's wedding on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday 20th I boarded Big Joe bus to Benin city, getting to Ekpoma, the driver told us that he won't be going to Benin because it was already past 7pm, so some of us took our belongings and took a Sienna bus going to Benin, after Ehor we were attacked by a gang of Fulani herdsmen who shot sporadically into the air, after taking all our money and phones from us, the leader of the team then asked us to match into the bush, it was at this time that I knew that it was not just robbery but kidnapping. After few minuite into the bush, the leader of the gang asked who was the driver of the vehicle, the driver identified himself, he was given a thorough beating after which he was allowed to go. In the process of matching us into the bush with gun shots, one of us who is a pregnant woman fell down and could not move anymore, while they were trying to revive her, one other man escaped into the bush, this made the kidnappers very angry so they left the pregnant woman to die while we were matched into the forest . We trekked for about three hours into the bush, crossed a river and ascended the hills which was about twenty minutes to climb and after which we descended into the ditch and then the thick forest. I observed that the kidnappers had a sign of communication and direction inside the forest . I discovered that some rags were tied on some trees in the forest with a sign, once we approach the tree, they will point the torch to identify the point that the rag turn to, this happens to be the way and so we moved on and on using same strategy to find the way. In another instance, once they heard any noise inside the forest we will be asked to stop while the kidnappers make a sound like that of a herdman to cows, if there is a similar response it means that it is their colleagues but if no response then they will start shooting into the bush before commanding us to move on. There were lots of dead bodies inside the forest with their hands tied to their back . We trekked for another two hours before getting to their camp which is located inside the heart of the forest. On our arrival, there was jubilation, the place was filled with dead bodies and then one of them came and started tieing our hands to our back but they never spoke any word to us until the morning. On Monday morning the leader of the gang who was being referred to as Alhaji came to us after he had made some calls to their boss and then commanded that we been beaten, we were beaten like animals without mercy . After the beating, we were then asked to call our families for negotiation, anyone whose family did not give positive answer to the ransome will be beaten seriously after series of gunshots in the air to put fear in their minds. When it was my turn, the negotiator picked me up and began flogging me, then I began to beg him in Hausa language, I was shocked that he stopped and their boss then asked him to remove me among the others, then he asked me if I was from the north since I was bearded but I told him no but that I was born in the north, because of that, the kidnapper loose the blindfold that was on my eyes and asked me to sit in the ground while others lay on their stomach. I then called my elder brother, at first I was scared that my brother will not respond positively and fear of being beaten again, but my brother in his wisdom even though fear could be felt in his voice, he told the kidnappers that firstly he has to talk to me and I was given the phone to speak to him, then he told the negotiator that things are hard but he was going to get them the money and that they should call him back by midday same day. This conversation made them happy and I wasn't beaten anymore but the others were seriously dealt with. After series of negotiation with my brother who was always given them hope. Finally, the ransome was settled and yet to be paid. I was in the kidnappers den for four days without food nor water, once in a day the kidnappers fetch river water then add tramadol inside the cup and give us to drink or else we will die of hunger, we poo and urinate on our body in the days we spent there. They kidnap passengers twice daily, both women and children, sometimes when the encounter any police escort, they kill the police and make away with his gun and cap and whenever this happens, the person that shot the policeman will be promoted. Within the den of the kidnappers there is an amourer who services their guns. They have bags of bullets, different types of guns including two SMGs. Arms and ammunitions litter the ground as they always change guns in each operation, which means that the guns used in the morning won't be used in the evening till two days time because their funder from the look of things is highly placed. They don't eat real food, what they eat is garri soaked in oil with onions and Maggi. They don't rape their victims but beat their victims to death. Guns don't penetrate them there in the forest. Before going out for any operation, they shot at each other randomly after which the leader brings out a white rag, spread it on the floor and all others will surround the rag and chant their incantations before leaving. After my elder brother paid the ransome for four of us that night, the leader of the team sent me a message to the Nigerian police, he asked me to tell the police that they have come for the police and that they will kill all policemen that come their way because they have taken over Edo state and will soon start a war that will lead to the taking over of the whole state. I promised him I will personally deliver the message to the Commissioner of Police, Edo state. Four of them walked us into the bush until we got to a village, then they told us to walk into the village and from there find our way since my brother was already waiting to receive us . Finally it was freedom at last . PLEASE DONT EVEN ENCOURAGE YOUR ENEMIES TO TRAVEL OUT OF BENIN NOT TO TALK OF YOUR FRIENDS. Thanks for a the love and care shown to me during my abduction in the kidnappers' den. ThankGod Okuk Copied. |

1. Auto repair shops will disappear. 2. A petrol/diesel engine has 20,000 individual parts. An electrical motor has 20. Electric cars are sold with lifetime guarantees and are only repaired by dealers. It takes only 10 minutes to remove and replace an electric motor. 3. Faulty electric motors are not repaired in the dealership but are sent to a regional repair shop that repairs them with robots. 4. Your electric motor malfunction light goes on, so you drive up to what looks like a car wash, and your car is towed through while you have a cup of coffee and out comes your car with a new electric motor! 5. Petrol pumps will go away. 6. Street corners will have meters that dispense electricity. Companies will install electrical recharging stations; in fact, they’ve already started in the developed world. 7. Smart major auto manufacturers have already designated money to start building new plants that only build electric cars. 8. Coal industries will go away. Gasoline/oil companies will go away. Drilling for oil will stop. So say goodbye to OPEC! The middle-east is in trouble. 9. Homes will produce and store more electrical energy during the day and then they use and will sell it back to the grid. The grid stores it and dispenses it to industries that are high electricity users. Has anybody seen the Tesla roof? 10. A baby of today will only see personal cars in museums. The FUTURE is approaching faster than most of us can handle. 11. In 1998, Kodak had 170,000 employees and sold 85% of all photo paper worldwide. Within just a few years, their business model disappeared and they went bankrupt. Who would have thought of that ever happening? 12. What happened to Kodak and Polaroid will happen in a lot of industries in the next 5-10 years … and most people don't see it coming. 13. Did you think in 1998 that 3 years later, you would never take pictures on film again? With today’s smart phones, who even has a camera these days? 14. Yet digital cameras were invented in 1975. The first ones only had 10,000 pixels, but followed Moore's law. So as with all exponential technologies, it was a disappointment for a time, before it became way superior and became mainstream in only a few short years. 15. It will now happen again (but much faster) with Artificial Intelligence, health, autonomous and electric cars, education, 3D printing, agriculture and jobs. 16. Forget the book, “Future Shock”, welcome to the 4th Industrial Revolution. 17. Software has disrupted and will continue to disrupt most traditional industries in the next 5-10 years. 18. UBER is just a software tool, they don't own any cars, and are now the biggest taxi company in the world! Ask any taxi driver if they saw that coming. 19. Airbnb is now the biggest hotel company in the world, although they don't own any properties. Ask Hilton Hotels if they saw that coming. 20. Artificial Intelligence: Computers become exponentially better in understanding the world. This year, a computer beat the best Go-player in the world, 10 years earlier than expected. 21. In the USA, young lawyers already don't get jobs. Because of IBM's Watson, you can get legal advice (so far for right now, the basic stuff) within seconds, with 90% accuracy compared with 70% accuracy when done by humans. So, if you study law, stop immediately. There will be 90% fewer lawyers in the future, (what a thought!) only omniscient specialists will remain. 22. Watson already helps nurses diagnosing cancer, its 4 times more accurate than human nurses. 23. Facebook now has a pattern recognition software that can recognize faces better than humans. In 2030, computers will become more intelligent than humans. 24. Autonomous cars: In 2018 the first self-driving cars are already here. In the next 2 years, the entire industry will start to be disrupted. You won't want to own a car anymore as you will call a car with your phone, it will show up at your location and drive you to your destination. 25. You will not need to park it you will only pay for the driven distance and you can be productive while driving. The very young children of today will never get a driver's license and will never own a car. 26. This will change our cities, because we will need 90-95% fewer cars. We can transform former parking spaces into green parks. 27. About 1.2 million people die each year in car accidents worldwide including distracted or drunk driving. We now have one accident every 60,000 miles; with autonomous driving that will drop to 1 accident in 6 million miles. That will save a million lives plus worldwide each year. 28. Most traditional car companies will doubtless become bankrupt. They will try the evolutionary approach and just build a better car, while tech companies (Tesla, Apple, Google) will do the revolutionary approach and build a computer on wheels. 29. Look at what Volvo is doing right now; no more internal combustion engines in their vehicles starting this year with the 2019 models, using all electric or hybrid only, with the intent of phasing out hybrid models. 30. Many engineers from Volkswagen and Audi; are completely terrified of Tesla and they should be. Look at all the companies offering all electric vehicles. That was unheard of, only a few years ago. 31. Insurance companies will have massive trouble because, without accidents, the costs will become cheaper. Their car insurance business model will disappear. 32. Real estate will change. Because if you can work while you commute, people will abandon their towers to move far away to more beautiful affordable neighborhoods. 33. Electric cars will become mainstream about 2030. Cities will be less noisy because all new cars will run on electricity. 34. Cities will have much cleaner air as well. 35. Electricity will become incredibly cheap and clean. 36. Solar production has been on an exponential curve for 30 years, but you can now see the burgeoning impact. And it’s just getting ramped up. 37. Fossil energy companies are desperately trying to limit access to the grid to prevent competition from home solar installations, but that simply cannot continue - technology will take care of that strategy. 38. Health: The Tricorder X price will be announced this year. There are companies who will build a medical device (called the "Tricorder" from Star Trek) that works with your phone, which takes your retina scan, your blood sample and you breath into it. It then analyses 54 bio-markers that will identify nearly any Disease. There are dozens of phone apps out there right now for health purposes. WELCOME TO TOMORROW – it actually arrived a few years ago. Let us wake up to the 21st century challenges. |

Two victims have been rescued from kidnappers by local vigilante group at Obagie community in Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State. Narrating the story to newsmen, one of the local vigilante members said they got a distress call from the community people and swung into action immediately to rescue the victims. He further explained that when they discovered their hide outs, the vigilante group attempted to free the kidnapped victims but ended up in gun exchange with the kidnappers as they attempted to escape but luck ran out of one of the kidnappers as he was caught by the vigilante group. He said the kidnappers were seven but two had been caught and five are still at large. As at the time of filling this report, the vigilante group had already handed the kidnapper to Egba Divisional Police Station for onward investigation. Recall that Obagie is under Uhunmwonde Local Government Area which is part of Benin-Auchi road that kidnapping had become the order of the day. |
Dear Nigerians, Someone should please help us at Benin Auchi Road. Is now a cave of robbers and Kidnappers. They entered road at will, operates without hindrance for hours. Kill people easily and walked away. People should please help. Regards, NEWS UPDATE! Report just coming in says there is a serious stalemate at the ever busy Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi road by Obagie following a blockade by some supected kidnappers on that route moment ago. Crime Correspondent Festus Alenkhe who has been monitoring development on that route revealed that the alleged heavily armed kidnappers had first attacked occupants of a commerical vehicle and ordered the driver to use it to barricade the road. An on-coming trailer driver sensing danger refused to stop. He eventually rammed into the bus killing some persons. Some travellers were kidnapped into the Bush in the process while a member of a vigilante group who was trying to resist the kidnappers was shot dead. The body of the slained vigilante man was still on the floor as at the time of this report. The situation led to a heavy traffic congestion flowing from the multiple accidents as the vehicles involved were still on the middle of the road when this report was filed. Obaseki should never make attempt to go back to APC, if he does that it will amount to political miscalculations and suicidal. He might end up his political career there. |
So you didn't think of this before when they were begging you. To the extent that Obaseki and Saibu did a big bill board at Jattu juction with inscription. 'Baba let your boys go" that alone is a sign of respect. |

I have been watching BABAJIDE OTITOJU and other journalists hangout on TVCN for some time now and I always enjoyed their analysis. But I noticed Babajide should learn not to put himself in position of God that sees tomorrow. In his predictions on Friday he said Ize Iyamu will win Obaseki. I agree you are very good but always remember you are human too. |
Six lessons to learn from Oshomole down fall I feel sorry for Oshiomhole that despite his outstanding works as a governor, he may now go down in history as a villain instead of the hero status he deserved. Where did it all go wrong for him? We can learn some lessons from his mistakes. 1. Do not take God's grace for granted Oshiomhole is no doubt a product of grace. For an ordinary Tailor without even a primary school cert to rise through the ranks to become NLC president, a state Governor and the national chairman of the ruling party could only be grace at work but when he got to the top, he forgot the hand that lifted and held him, he elevated himself to the position of a god and started bragging: "no man born of a woman can remove me...", "I will give Obaseki Ambode treatment... He became high handed and started stepping on people's toes. He went into overdrive, wielding the axe on anyone who dared to confront him, masterminding electoral irregularities with full blown violence and daring anyone to challenge him... He abused the grace that lifted him. 2. Do not underrate anybody One of our proverbs says: "if you wake up in the morning and sees a fowl pursuing you, you'd better run because you don't know if it had grown teeth overnight". When he was suspended by his ward Chairman, he called him a local politician, a village champion, an 'ordinary' ward chairman and refused to appeal the suspension within the window provided by the constitution until a federal high court in Abuja affirmed it, then he started running helter skelter, looking for a last ditch intervention to save his head until the appeal court gave him reprieve. He also serially underrated the power of a sitting governor. 3. Pride goes before a fall After the Abuja high court judgement, he did something admirable; he humbled himself, called a meeting of the NWC and apologized to everyone with the words "I have realized my mistakes'. However, realizing your mistakes is not enough, he obviously did not learn from his mistakes as evidenced by his prolonged war with Obaseki and Oshawo. It was overhead pride to think "how can I a whole chairman call these neophytes for settlement"? A true father does that, sometimes you are at loggerheads with your own children and because you don't want to burn down the house, you call them to yourself, air your grievances and settle the quarrel. 4. Learn to retreat sometimes There is a time to be brave and a time to be conscious. Only cowards keep advancing in battles without retreating, sometimes we need to learn the art of "winning by losing", sometimes you need to learn to retreat and re-evaluate the battle, your enemy and your potential gains and losses. Always fight with your sense not your muscles. One of our proverbs says: "if you are too sharp, you may cut yourself in the end", this is what has happened to him. 5. Beware of praise singers Oshiomhole's supporters did not help matters either, they elevated him to the position of a god, they called him head-swelling names; Oshiothunder, OshioLion, Oshiobuldozer, Oshiowinner, Oshioquake, Oshiofire, the man who has never lost and can never loss a battle and so many annoying names and in a bid to justify the names, he shut his ears to good advise. The great Oduma of Afemai music had advised him in his album titled "last tenure" that there shall come a time you will look back and see no one behind you but they don't listen to good music, he preferred to dance to "is a goal" and listen to those fair weather Afemai musicians who campaigned for his adversaries at the beginning but turned back to dedicate a track in every of their albums to him after he had won the election. Sometimes learn how to listen and you could benefit even from those who talk badly. 6. What goes around comes around He did this to a lot of people; Saraki, Oyegun,... just to name a few. He has simply gotten a taste of his own pie. |
Samsimple:You are the most funniest human being on this planet |
I too like this man boldness. |
What kind of Edo do I want ; Edo where a poor man or woman with a poor background can come out and request for people's support to become counsellor, Chairman, Honourable senator and Governor or the one that u must get endorsement from ONE person? |
