ferderick: As the poster Walelavender reminded bigots like yourself, religion did not play a part when Abiola and Kingibe who were both Muslims, vied for presidency in '94. Did you ibos stick chewing gum over your eyes to this fact then? Keep bigotry to your region. The Southwest isn't buying your bad market. 3 Likes |

Spare us the jargon and let your character be the judge. Your bias and high handedness though you thought was done behind closed doors are open secrets. Any discerning mind will see you for who you truly are so save us the sales pitch. |

wirinet: Amaechi will not get 10% votes from SS because the region is a PDP stronghold and the SS people are falling for the religious division hook, line and sinker. While the Yorubas might have a soft spot for Amaechi due to his victimisation by Jonny and his wife, he does not and can never enjoy the magnitude of goodwill that Fashola enjoys in the whole of the west and the North and even SS. If truly APC is ready to send Jonny into an indefinite coma and is serious to get the reins of power, Fashola is the only guaranteed hope. Field any other southerner and you give Jonny the absolute impetus to rig and rug massively he will. Fashola is the only candidate that will make it impossible for PDP to rig the southwest. Anything short of that and we should be congratulating Jonathan on his win in advance. 1 Like |

4Play: We know that. However in a heterogenous nation like Nigeria, a unity promoting government will practise a government of representation and inclusion, exhibiting federal character and not one being practised by this divisive one. Yoruba is too important in Nigeria's politics to be relegated and Jonathan did this only to humiliate us. However, he forgot that when it comes to politics, we produce masterstrokes and always checkmate the opponent. |

But Adeboye and his likes are part of the problem of not just Yorubs politically but Nigeria as a whole. These religious charlatans will not want a government that will start placing tax on their dubious earnings. They need the status quo to remain so they are die hard supporters of this corrupt government. They will be unyielding towards any idea to free the masses from mind control because this is what gives them their daily bread. Forget about persuading any religious leader, it will get us nowhere. Yorubas either open their eyes now or forever languish under Jonathan as a result of subscribing to religious myopia. If Yoruba were wise, it will not pander to any religious blackmail because we are religiously heterogeneous. SamAfrik: 4 Likes |

Obiagelli: Osi who? I'm Yoruba and don't even know him. Why not just hand the key of Aso Rock to the drunken fisherman and not even bother about contesting, then? This is not so hard, people. Th east that uses the religious mantra as a caveat and blackmail tool will not be voting Buhari so really all that should concern APC is to sensitising the Yorubas to this enemy's plan to divide our votes using religion as a bait. Yoruba is the group to persuade here and not any other. All Buhari needs are block votes from the North and the SW. Jona can hold on to his SE/SS block. Stop pandering to this religious bullsh1t! I am a Christian but if I know that fielding. Christian would mean automatic loss for APC because it has no popular Christian candidate in the mold of Fashola or Aregbe. I will vote five Muslim candidate whom I know have been tried and tested and are more than capable of doing a much better job than a Christian. Yoruba cannot afford to get this wrong. Not now, not ever! 3 Likes |

The only foreseeable spanner in the works for Buhari is if Yoruba Christians allow themselves to be persuaded by Ibo Christians and their corrupt so called men of God a'la Adeboye, Oyedepo et al who benefit from this corrupt government. We know that these so called MOG indirectly endorse and campaign for Jonathan through public laying of hands on his (Jonathan's head) or attending functions organised by the corrupt government or even accepting the corrupt man's birthday congratulatory message. It is time Yoruba Christians exhibit their sophistication by not buying into the myopia of some divisive ethnic group who are bent on using religion as their last straw to realise their vendetta against the Yoruba state. Yorubas cannot afford to sit on the wall on this matter. Nigeria is divided and acting as one through the opium of religion and religious leaders' trickery will only leave us at the losing end. Shun religion and vote for the future of your children. That you attend the same church with other ethnic groups does not mean that they are not envious of your enclave and want to run it over. This live and let live ideology can only take us so far. It is all about survival of the fittest so play this political game wisely and secure the best for your region. Shun religious blackmail!!! 1 Like |

Chiwude: Religion should not be a criteria if Buhari is seeking to secure majority of his votes from the North and the SW. The north will vote Buhari (guaranteed) and the west will vote Fashola at the drop of a hat based on his antecedents. I don't think foreign religions matter to the Yorubas as their cultural identity does. You will find all religion in the Yoruba family so they tend to base their decisions more on merit than anything else. Of course Fashola being a Yoruba man is an added advantage. 7 Likes |

Choosing Okorocha will be political suicide. The only foreseeable chance of victory for Buhari is to pick Fashola. Aregbesola is another option but anything short and Buhari might as well kiss his chances adios. 2 Likes |
