Last Saturday's presidential election is generating stern controversies in the rank of the progressives as the Congress for Progressive Change presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) has blamed former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu for selling South-West to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/buhari-how-tinubu-gave-s-west-votes-to-jonathan/89907/ Buhari is confused and should accept his loss rather than blaming and accusing up&down. |
No we do not!! Rather, we need to pray for people like you to start thinking more with your heads. Buhari has actually posted on his facebook page that stands against the violence, but hours later, the violence continues, what does that tell you?? How can you expect to put this burden on a mere civilian who happened to run for election? He is not even a Northern leader, nor does he have power in the north other than during election period when he calls for votes form the disenfranchised who listen.just look at what an educated black |
still no word from any media.Come are u sure ur in Nigeria? or some suburb? u have posted this here b4 and som1 advised you to subscribe to radio if u dnt receive TV signals where u r and here u r again asking a question that has been said over and over on the media. Ok, go and climb on top of that mountain near your village river, I believe the radio signal will be good there. |
Gen Buhari should please appeal to the real Buhari to thread softly!GenBuhari on Nl is destitute of human compassion so its like praying through the Devil. so my dear don't waste your time. I pray he begs for his life someday so that he will know what death is like so when he hears violence, he will pick race rather than come on NL to be typing rubbish, pledging support to a loser through violence. |
This rioting is not surprising. You are not yet dead?!!! They should have gotten to your house by now. |
Buhari of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) told Al Jazeera that the poll had been systemically rigged. Is this Buhari not a helpless old fool? somebody tell me he's not. |
The elections were rigged.I tire for your reasoning this Genbuhari, you are using an online opinion poll conducted on NL to justify that the election was rigged. when did Nairaland turn into National assembly with representatives from all around Nigeria? Better still, why don't you take your online result to INEC for justification or present it in court as evidence when ur master finally decides to go to court since u r so dumb!!! |
We all need to stand up and protest for our rights. So that justifies the slaying of innocent souls in the north. Thank God that His choice of a leader prevailed and will always prevail so that these Bigots and their likes will always be put to shame |
@mobinga Pls can u take away that picture, its too sordid. |
Construction of 50 Pit latrines across schools in the state (who says this is not an achievement). Trust me, for schools, the pits are better than the water systems.Puleaase!! Don't even come here here to remind us of how much we have suffered in the hands of this & about the Imo website, are u talking about the photo shopped version? or the reality that we all can see?!! Imo people are not wicked to think of throwing out a performing governor, the point is, He aint performing and the annoying part is that he is busy stealing and exploiting people in the name of schemes like the 1000 jobs u mentioned above. & for 6 kia picanto&show, am sure the guy is going to sell tickets. You see, u can't take it away from this guy, its in his blood, 419! |
Buhari should be arrested immediately and charged for Treason because he Instigated and masterminded this. |
I'm so proud of you Beaf!Who are the other two please? and what are the criteria s of becoming Odunnu's favorite NLnders ? |
Congrats Beaf! Am sure many people on NL voted GEJ cos of ur ability to stand firm by your belief and the courage to lead GEJ support on NL. Kudos! |

From Geoffrey Anyanwu, Awka Friday, April 15, 2011 The Anambra Central Senatorial election drama took a worrisome dimension on Tuesday as unknown gunmen invaded Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, allegedly in search the Returning Officer in the election, Mr. Alex Anene. Anene had on Monday announced the result of the election he collated and declared the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate, Dr. Chris Ngige winner of the election, against an earlier announcement by one Prof Charles Esimole whom, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukaogu introduced as the new Returning Officer, that the election was inconclusive. The gunmen numbering two, Daily Sun stormed the university at about 11am Tuesday claiming to be men of the State Security Service (SSS). Without the permission of the school authorities, the gunmen ransacked various offices in search of Anene. The action of the gunmen caused tension in the university as people became apprehensive of the mission of the fearful looking men. Reacting to the development yesterday, the university’s Director, Information and Communications, Mr. Emma Ojukwu said the university is an institution with its own authority and must not be invaded by any security operatives without the permission of the authorities. He said, “What we are saying is that if security agents want to carry out any operation in the university, they must contact the Vice Chancellor who will direct the Chief Security Officer to cooperate with them. “But in this case nothing like that happened which is capable of causing breach of peace in the university, and we say no to that”. Meanwhile, the State Director of SSS, Mr. Joshua Yakubu has said that he did not believe that the said gunmen that invaded the university were his men. |
Fresh facts have emerged on why the renewed alliance talks between the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) collapsed. Addressing journalists in Abuja yesterday, the presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu laid the failure of the deal squarely on the Congress of Progressive Change (CPC) standard bearer, General Muhammadu Buhari. According to the ACN presidential candidate, General Buhari’s refusal to yield ground and personal ego botched the deal which would have seen the two parties presenting a common candidate for tomorrow’s presidential election by the two opposition parties. Indeed, the erstwhile boss of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was more revealing than the national chairman of the ACN, Chief Bisi Akande who had told journalists on Wednesday that the CPC leaders were prevaricating on the alliance deal. Ribadu disclosed that the ACN saw itself as the senior partner in the agreement having performed exceedingly well at last Saturday’s National Assembly polls and had expected the CPC to be more considerate in its demands. “This isn’t blame game moment; we tried honestly. We attempted to come out with a strong opposition to the PDP. On our own part, that is the ACN, we made every necessary sacrifice, including the offer of stepping down of our presidential candidate in consideration of this alliance, because we saw that Nigerians wanted it and we also believe that it is the right thing to do. “But the other party didn’t fulfill its own part and it wasn’t a bigger sacrifice as our own, but sadly they didn’t just meet up with what was agreed. Originally, we agreed that we are the senior partner in this alliance attempt, because we have bigger electoral number, we have more votes across the country, we have more in terms of number of National Assembly elected. But we still considered it necessary and we did everything, including offer of sacrifice of allowing the candidate of the CPC to lead and we will get the vice-president, eventually but they refused. They agreed and then they turned it down again. Sadly, that was the fundamental problem that really led to the collapse. Of course, you know there were several attempts in the past to bring the parties together, but it failed.’’ Mallam Ribadu, however, expressed confidence that the ACN would win tomorrow’s election, even at the first ballot. “PDP isn’t a popular party today; in a free and fair election, PDP would not win. No doubt about it. If you are going to have free and fair election, transparent election, believable election, you are going to get a new government come Saturday. No doubt. Any of the opposition party could defeat PDP and we pray that it is going to happen. God will give us the chance to be able to open a new chapter for our country.’’ However, General Buhari, in a statement signed by his spokesman, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, denied he was responsible for the inability of his party and the ACN to reach an arrangement. While stressing that the decisive moment Nigeria enters this weekend requires sobriety on the part of leaders who care about the fate of the suffering people of Nigeria, General Buhari explained that he embraced the renewed talks between the two parties in the best interest of millions of Nigerians yearning for change with great enthusiasm. “The talks, however, ran into difficulties when the ACN insisted the only condition for agreement was that they must produce the vice president. By the electoral laws, this was virtually impossible before this election. We suggested that they should let us jointly go into the elections and jointly form the government after our victory. But our friends were not ready to take us on our honour and went to the media.” While regretting the inability to get the parties to agree to harness their electoral fortunes before Saturday, General Buhari said the task at hand was to get rid of the PDP at the polls through voters mass turnout and eternal vigilance from accreditation to the final announcement of results. He called on millions of his supporters across Nigeria to troop out en-masse tomorrow and vote him in as the President “This is our finest hour to get the PDP out and we must not miss it. The rigging machine must be smashed on Saturday,” he declared. |
^^^chatap!!! there!! Blakk mmoron, who are u to come here and insult people because of your biased mind and affiliations with your Dora and the rest.I can see the critical thinking brain that you have with your analysis. Dora was leading indeed and all of sudden ngige was announced winner; all these happening in your privately owned TV station. Nincompo*p!! |
Dora in her own words on media said that Anene was arrested by the police on his way to the polling unit with fake ID and credentials and was later released to go and conduct the election. my people are these not the words of a drowning woman? I can't even stitch up the sentence to make sense out of it. |
well, for now, and for where I stay, among all the inefficient ISP's, starcomms rocks! I have both MTN |
The President Not to be must have looked into the faces of the young generation to see a future that he might not be there to see. crying old man, na tears u wan rule this nation? |

I weep for dose who behave as if dey were born dis year & so cant remember d past 12yrs of agonymayb u were born within those 12 yrs bt we remember it more than 28yrs ago like it was yesterday when democracy was truncated by this Man and people's rights abused. |
This is just the apotheosis of deceit! crying on stage to deceive who? deceive me? nah nah General, wrong move. Nigeria is not in a grave situation. We need performers not mourners. people who are optimistic, people who believe that Nigeria will be better not people who will mount the stage and cry over our sorry state, making it look worse than it is. We are moving forward, believe it or not |
