mubarak89: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" That's a famous quote, widely attributed to Albert Einstein.
Same can be used in the situation of Nigeria. Over the years we have had the same crop of politicians. Each election year we regurgitate the same class of people while expecting different results.
If 'Albert Einstein' were to judge the situation of Nigeria, he'd most likely label us "insane".
But alas! We need to move this country forward. We need to stop electing the same crop of people while expecting different results.
But then... who amongst the polical class is differrent? Simple answer: Peter Obi.
Like it or not. Obi is a deviant and abnormal when put side by side with others.
#1: Peter Obi Rejects Oil Block #2: He was impeached for refusing to inflate Anambra budget #3: He rejected a house of 120M #4: Anambra GDP grew by 40% while he was governor
These are not what a normal Nigerian politician does. These are verifiable facts!
Obi is not normal. Pandora papers, hiding money in tax havens because you don't want to pay tax. No saint anywhere. |

If they send you to your village. What will u tell them to vote SW president that has affected thr life's directly in any positive way. What has u village people enjoyed since SW president was made possible by inec I won't tell them in my village to vote anyone in this political class. May your life and your children's be just as credible as Nigeria's elections.. Say a big Amen.
By the way!;
The old man lost his election in his own state of Lagos, lost in Abuja, Edo, Plateau and many other places and you're saying it's Obidients.
By the way are Obidients not Nigerians,? Abi they are not humans? Abi they are aliens. If elections are not credible, why do you encourage Peter Obí to take part, or are they only credible if he wins? Obidients are Nigerians, a very noisy, abusive and insultive minority. |

Not really about Obi, even a cow contesting against Tinubu, free and fair, Tinubu cannot win. I repeat, even a cow!!
If Peter Obi was the one in office between May 2023 and today, and all that has happened happened, I would not in my right senses expect him to win. As we 'speak' hundreds of Nigerians are being flogged and dehumanized daily in the forests by bandits.
Anyone who says Tinubu can win a free election needs urgent psychiatric evaluation. So how are APC winning elections all over the place, even in Aligbo, during President Tinubu's tenure? Whilst I understand that Obidients hate him, it appears other Nigerians don't. |

This man needs to keep a low profile or defend himself sensibly because he is going to be the poster boy for Anti Ndigbo politician feelings in Lagos state.
Come next elections, his name will be front and centre as to why Yoruba liberalism in Lagos needs to end.
Did he really think his skewed list would not be released for public consumption or maybe he didn't care sha? Shame, now all his good works would have been erased because of that act of lack of tact. |

I am genuinely interested in your opinion, as I myself haven't seen it, as to why you think Peter Obí would do better than 3rd place. What exactly has happened in the past week or whatever to make NDC a cornerstone of anything? I understand that Obidients are cock-a-hoop because NDC zoned their Presidential candidacy to the South so Peter Obi would get it but that hasn't, in my opinion anyway, caused a seismic shift in Nigerian politics. He has always had his South East and with Kwankwaso has added Kano, where else? |

lawani: A place that is not a government reserved area for Igbos in Lagos can never become an Igbo dominated area. Is it possible for over fifty percent of the real estate on that land to belong to Igbos? It is not possible. So how do you define Igbo dominated area? I am not going to argue with that poster, let them continue to believe that Ndigbo dominate anywhere in Oshodi Isọlọ. Because they have a lot of shops and people call South south people Ọmọ igbo might cause some delusion. The only valid point he made was that there was voting lethargy there by Yorùbá's before now. Sadly, the Presidential results from the SE in 2023 has now shaken Ndi Yoruba from their stupour. Maybe there is another Isọlọ sha. |

keemsleek: Igbo dominant there. Na my area most yoruba there don't come out to vote they are busy staying in door or shop. Apc lost during presidential election at there. It was then the yorubavlearnt they messed up and they came out heavily during governorship election and the population of igbo doubled during the election. I love the igbo for that.... Oshodi Isọlọ has never been dominated by Ndigbo. Also, don't lump in South South people with Ndigbo in trying to make absurd claims. I moved there when Isọlọ was under Mushin LG. The strongest Ndigbo place in that LG will be Ajao estate and even at that, Igbos are not dominant over there. Like you said, a lot of Ndigbo turned up before 2023 to vote in Lagos, as part of a calculated transfer, and Oshodi Isọlọ was one of the places affected. I believe INEC have sensibly closed that loophole. |

There are lots of men, in this generation and previous ones, that cannot tell you the name of their children's class teacher or the name of two of their children's best friends. I had a friend growing up, the mum knew all our names and when you see her outside she will say "hello" and add your name even if her son is not with us. franchasofficia: They played part back then because no prominent and formidable Igbo man emerged to challenge any of the Southwest political demigod like Bola Tinubu, please understand this.
They are not happy that Peter Obi a Southeasterner is trying to change the status quo of becoming President, to them its a taboo. Igbos can support other tribes to emerge President no problem, they dont have a problem with that, but an Igbo man coming out to challenge their own person in a Presidential election and then Igbos massively support him, for what na? That is crossing their wishful redline The text in my post gave a wrong impression of things and I have corrected it. A lot of Yorùbá's voted for Peter Obí, in fact a lot of Nigerians want an Ndigbo president but it won't happen with the atrocious bullying behaviour of Obidients, never. FSBoperator: Who were the most vocal champions of Giringori if not the Yoruba-Buts who gave LP a false National appeal even though it had at its core an Ibo agenda?
Some one is even justifying that the area is home to 90% Ibos so thats why Ibos are rushing to fill the excos which translates that Ibos see NDC as an Ibo party.
Also we saw how LP in the last election was giving their slots in Lagos to mostly Ibos.
Every House of Rep, state rep and senatorial position went to Ibos.
Are Ibos also dominating every local govt and subhurb in Lagos stae? I believe being a member of a party is not the same as ordinary voting for them or even seeking elective or principle office. I can see your point, it looks bad but flip the coin and see that, maybe for the first time ever, the Obidient franchasofficia might have a point. The LP Lagos state exco situation last time was a forceful takeover because Chinedu Gbadebo brought "his people" (some would say on more ways than one) in. If I remember rightly, they had two factions that fought for control and the existing Yoruba one lost. That was pure and reckless straight up tribalistic banditry, riding high on a need to give President Tinubu a bloody nose in Lagos state, and might be a different scenario to this. Anyway I should never be in a position where I am defending Obidients so I think I would just stop now. |
