gidgiddy: Residents of Anambra State, particularly in Onitsha and Nnewi, have continued to observe the Monday weekly sit-at-home despite the conviction and imprisonment of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
Thanks for this sir, being trying to remember what I call his "comeback song" since I heard he passed.
If you have a minute and are looking for topics to do, it would be great if you did a post on comeback songs, by which I mean musicians from the 60's avd 70's suddenly turning up in the 80's with synthesisers(?!) in their music in the music video era.
Jimmy Cliff, Eddy Grant, Aretha Franklin (with George Michael) , Whispers, Gladys knight (without the Pips) and many more.
emkz: It is only someone with an incredibly low self esteem who'd talk down on his origin and heritage.
They abound. Some talk down on Nigeria to be acceptable to their adopted countries.
Some come on twitter daily to harvest negativity and sew them in aimless twitter rants and want to lead this great country.
Some even call the country a disgraced country in their twitter rants. There was a thread yesterday where he asked if the country is cursed or if we are cursed. He ended up telling lies and proved that he was the curse.
Nigeria is great. We are rising to become a global force. Our citizens are doing the country proud with their exploits. Very soon, tourism would be booming, economy would become on a path of sustainable growth, our youth shall be employed and live happy lives.
We are the powerhouse of Africa. The sleeping giant is waking up and with that comes scare-mongering for weapons fashioned against Nigeria.
Bukayo Saka, we are proud of you.
Ngozi-Okonjo-Iweala, we are proud of you.
Akinwumi Adesina, we are proud of you.
Yemi Cardoso, we are proud of you.
Bola Tinubu, we are proud of you.
All the Nigerians in diaspora making exploits in their chosen fields, we are proud of you.
Those who talk down on the country daily to benefit from negativity, you can be proud of yourselves, but this great country will NEVER fall under the weight of your curses.
Well said.
To add on to that, the NFL in the US have had a policy of putting the flag of players ancestry on their helmets alongside the US one.
Guess which country has the most, Nigeria. Green white green flags adorn helmets of players from different tribes.
Yet some will not let us rest with their negativity.
Looking at that second picture, my first thought was "I can't believe how close the church is to the expanse of water", thankfully someone pointed out that there had been a reclamation type project.
I used to enjoy buying UK comics around that area.
Biodun556: Bokoharam, banditry, herdsmen killings are all cultural failure of Northern Nigeria. Their politicians and elites are not ready for the solutions. Nigerian army failure on bokoharam and banditory are due high level collaborations between the terrorists and the leaders in the North. As long as the attack is limited to the North, let them face till they are ready to solve it.
In Nnamdi Kanu's case, he trespassed by calling his members to attack a South West governor and burt down the state properties. Over 1 trillion naira worth of properties were destroyed in Lagos due to Nnamdi Kanu's incitement to its followers. Till today, ShopRite has not recovered, and it is shutting down nation wide.
If Nnamdi Kanu had limited it's terrorism to the East, he would have been tried their and recieved lesser punishment.
Psiyohos: Nnamdi kanu should take his case to the Hague since he is not a member of the state the state has no right to imprison him. Since a firstly Colonial government like Nigeria couldn't indoctrinate her legitimacy on the geographical location that hitherto existed to him, Justice should be a mere clown with a wig, he has no right respecting The Nigerian Court nor shouldn't be be judged by it The entire government is a sham, a pack of thieves and have no pontification whatsoever to exert adjudication to a case of secession.
Worst case scenario, let him plead insanity and just apply for medical asylum outside Nigeria and leave that place
what was he thinking ??
He's first and foremost a British citizen the worst that should happen is that he be extradited to the United kingdom where he is not a threat to their national security and can be put under house arrest or at least be with ankle monitor Julian Assange did worse than that and today he's a free man.
it is only shameful to be imprisoning a mad man who pleads a just cause he is in a moral desert, modern day John baptist like Nigel Farage who pleads for nationalism can be serious until he is linked with the physical evidence of threats to the government in question every other utterance are mere brag and indoctrination of which can run most fervid opppobriums not particular to him alone as he has like the Gumi and Zakzaky as counterparts
so a life imprisonment is rather preposterous and bear inklings of a more seated hatred and bigotry
simple
Get him out of there and take him to the United kingdom he has a family to return to
Your British Subject, not Citizen, card wouldn't work for Ohamdike.
Why would a British Subject spend all that time on Nigeria, he should have focused his energy on carving out Biafra out of Britain or any of the many issues affecting Britain.
UK didn't bat an eyelid, Israel that he was doing attache to, same.
You are right though that there is an element of madness in his being, maybe he can pursue that route.
Throwback: Is Igboland not free from the nuisance of IPOB today?
I must commend you for the splendid job you are doing against these rascally elements, trying to twist the narrative on this thread.
They are a noisy minority in Aligbo and at some point they must accept that their position on matters is childish and hypocritical.
Run for elections, they won't. Are they scared that the fact that most Ndigbo are not interested in their selfish and prone to disaster separatist agenda would be exposed if they do make the mistake of going down the peaceful elective and legislative route?
FarahAideed: The forced him to accept Shettima as his VP , forced him to make Fulanis head Defense and NSA and recently forced him to retire CG Musa
Did they force him to make Wike the FCT Minister or Umahi the minister of works or Bianca the Minister of state for foreign affairs, all very juicy positions?
CBN, Armed Forces and Customs, none headed by Fulani and all sensitive positions.
The cabal must either be very foolish or maybe you are not smart for making false accusations.
omoredia: U still dont get it. Biafra is a consequence of a failing Nigeria. Its like marriage. A divorce is a consequence of a failing marriage. As long as the marriage continues to fail divorce is inevitable. Its just a matter of time. If Nigeria becomes a nation of truth, justice and equity any agitation of Biafra will not exist let alone have support.
Why didn't Ohamdike or the other Biafran separatists put themselves up for elective office and when voted in, push for this separation in Abuja.
By now, you would have had your Biafra with Ohamdike as (life) president. No killings, no jailings, no abduction, no childish tantrums in court.
No being part of a failing Nigeria that is unfair of Ndigbo, what's there not to like?!
omoredia: Lastly, we have the South-South, South-East bloc. This bloc is very similar,... .
You dey ok so, what bloc is very similar to what? Even in the Anioma part of Delta state that they speak a variation of Igbo, you don't see Biafra agitation.
Nwanem, stop posting after levelling a bottle of kain kain wit ya friends, nutin similar between South East and South South bikonu
Very unfair, they are working hard behind the scenes despite Ohamdike giving them nothing, and I mean nothing to work with going by his rancid, immature behaviour in court.
I dont blame them . The injustice towards our neigbours is really what is making them stronger.
You cannot have two laws for different people. You hold "peace talks" to some, reintegrate them back into society and give them employment opportunities.
There is no injustice towards your neighbours, those that show a repentant attitude are treated differently to those that don't, that is only fair.
almarthins: You don't hate them, but you quick to tag a tribe "ipob" for their opinion and unapologetic statements. Any one who speaks against this administration is quickly labelled "obidient."
Let's be frank with the obvious, are they really free in North?
When they express opinions that defy logic like "stolen mandate", then they will get tagged appropriately. Same as when they claim Ohamdike is innocent of wrongdoing, they will be tagged appropriately as well.
If they are not free in the North, why do they stay there and start families there? Anyone with ancestral links elsewhere that seek to overstep their boundaries will never be free to do. This isn't even particular to the North, Nigeria or Africa.
helinues: If you are responsible you already have money, same as self confident and be sincere to be trusted. Those keys are applicable to other things
I can't agree with this sha based on my experience, not saying it's not true for you ó.
I won't trust a lot of people that have money as an example and some are definitely not responsible.
They are pretty confident, I grant you that, though with some, it's a hollow confidence solely based on their bank balance.
helinues: This is from personal experience, tested severally and worked.
1. Being sincere. Before a lady can open up to you , you must be trusted meaning you must have been sincere and consistent with your stories. The moment they start telling you things willingly, it will be hard for them to hide things from you
2. Being confidence. Ladies like someone that will tell them repeated assurance like don't worry everything will be alright. Someone who is ready to face challenges without breaking down. You don't have to be a super hero, just be confident in whatever situation.
3. Being responsible. This not necessary mean taking care of bills. Womanizing, alcoholic, gambling excess are what most ladies termed irresponsible.
Those 3 key things are important when getting to know each other, that's the stage of building trust and confidence
Baba, whilst you are right, in this our country, once you have money abd/or are good at sex, those three things you mention pale into significance.
Conversely, without money or bring good in the sack, these things again matter little, in this our country at least.
potent5: Nigerian-American naval officer, Captain Kelechi Ndukwe, has been appointed Commodore of Destroyer Squadron 60 and Task Force 65 of the United States Navy, headquartered in Rota, Spain.
DAILY POST reports that the development further cements his trailblazing rise in America’s naval command structure.
The U.S. Mission in Nigeria announced the appointment on Friday through a post on X, describing Ndukwe’s career as “pure inspiration” and a testament to “American excellence.”
Ndukwe had earlier made history as the first Nigerian-American to command a U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer, the USS Halsey (DDG-97). “Meet Commodore Kelechi Ndukwe, a Nigerian-American making history in the U.S. Navy,” the mission wrote. “From commanding the USS Halsey to now serving as Commodore of Destroyer Squadron 60 and Task Force 65 in Spain, his journey is a true example of #AmericanExcellence.”
Ndukwe was promoted to the rank of Navy Captain in August 2024. Over his two-decade career, he has held key operational and leadership roles, including fire control officer aboard the USS Normandy between 2004 and 2006 and auxiliaries officer on the USS Thorn from 2003 to 2004.
A 2002 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he has also served in the Office of the Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest military advisory position in the United States.
In 2021, Ndukwe took command of the USS Halsey after serving as its executive officer. He also previously commanded the USS Devastator (MCM 6), a minesweeper based in Bahrain, from 2013 to 2015.
Congratulations, not easy being a Nigerian and excelling abroad.
I hope he lives long enough to pass on words of wisdom to younger ones. Some of whom think living the black American life of a cycle of jail, arrest, release is anything to be proud of.
helinues: You see Ipob and Obidients as a group, they have been unfortunate with whatever they support or associate with. Their support, opinion, analysis always go to the opposite direction of the reality.
They have records of using their support to relegate others. If you want to progress in life, avoid the support of those 2 groups
They have the magic hand of acid. Whatever they touch always melt
Bianca Ojukwu, Peter Obi, Soludo, Hope Uzodinma, Mba and co.... selfish people thinking that one Nigeria will continue to benefit you and shield you from what is coming.... You have all failed as true Igbos have rejected you!
All these people you mentioned, did Ohamdike consult any of them before starting his style of agitation?
He put his own hand in fire and you are blaming others, why?
almarthins: That's the simplest and most direct direct truth. But yorubas will be pretending, and the north will be playing under the guise of one nigeria.
It's a lie, people don't hate Ndigbo.
If they are, why have Ndigbo lived freely in Ala Yoruba and Ala North giving birth to generations of people in those lands?
Despite all that, and great post by masterfactor by the way, a repentant Ohamdike could still have escaped prison with the background work that Bianca and others were doing.
Sadly, the Obidients (where are they sef by the way?) continued to hail him and waste all the good work bring done by others to see him set free.
LottiOk: Ipobs using reverse psychology to stop people from mocking them and their demented leader like they have not been mocking or won't miss the opportunity to mock others if their precieved enemies where undergoing half of what Kanu is going through. They are still using subtle threats and scaremongering to stop folks from shaming them for blindly following Kanu to ruin their chance of self determination.
Is this all you can do⁉️🤦🏿♂️ I thought you said he can't be arrested, presucted or jailed⁉️ We are still waiting for you ipobs to burn down the zoo, stop the silly scare tactics and do your worst ⁉️🤦🏿♂️ You ipobs think you are more igbo than other Igbos who knows that what you guys are doing is enimical to the peaceful coexistence of all Igbos in the West African region and beyond. Until you guys reap this Rwanda style pogrom you are directly and indirectly clamoring for through the silly, childish utterances of Kanu and other ipobs members here on nNL will Una eyes clear. You guys don't know when to stop pushing and instead start pulling, you think this Nzogbu Nzogbu, Okachamara, Onyeagwalam mentality will not sprout hatred and angst against you from other Okwia ⁉️
Oga eme unu voom nanya
Superb post encompassing a lot of things right minded people, of all tribes, are thinking. Thank you for this.
Per the bolded, this is the one that should hit home most to some. Sadly those that should read and take it in wouldn't, a real shame.
