Good morning my people,
information reaching me from a reliable source this morning states that they are calling names batch by batch according to Geo-political zones and positions applied for.

The person also informed me that they have been asked to stop further calling of names because of this public holidays. They will commence again by second week of January; however, those that have been called should do well and go for their APL as stated and as well brief us on the outcome.
we are waiting to be briefed by those called already.

It seems that no one from either Enugu or Zaria zone has been called for his appointment letter. I congratulate those who got called already. As for those of us who have not been called yet, let's keep our fingers crossed, pray and hope that we would also be called anytime from now. I feel they may be doing it in batches

CrimeRe: Abubakar Tafewa University Student Commits Suicide, Corpse Hangs On Tree.Graphic by AtbuAbdul(m): 1:59am On Nov 25, 2017
This is our ATBU! My Alma mata. The frustration is too much. I am Graduate of Civil Engineering (2005 to 2011) from the University. The school is known for its high standards that impact negatively on the life of her students, both as an undergraduate and after graduation.
this is a school when admitted into, you can't exactly tell when you'll Graduate we used to refer to our expected date of graduation as (5yrs + X), X being unknown not as a result of the normal delay from ASUU strikes which affect every other uni but due to the fact that when you get into the University there are a lot factors that will frustrate you from graduating within the normal duration. Like myself, I spent 6yrs for a 5yr course and that's is even because I didn't have any personal problem to give me extra yrs in school.
this is a school where almost all your courses are requisite or prerequisite to other courses. That is, if you dare fail one you automatically get an extra yr some chain could span from 200l till 500l. e.g if one fail CE211 you can't register CE222 until you pass it. Failing CE222 would prevent you from registering CE311 and CE311 to CE321 and it goes on like that till 500l.
this is a uni that only few exceptional and lucky students get to raise their CGPAs it always seemed as if you are dragging something with your lecturers, from how mean they are in making assessments of you either in tests or exams. This is a school that withdraw students who can't get up to 0.25 GPA in their 1st semester or 1.00 in subsequent semesters and you still get to hear about 300-600 students being withdrawn every session. I remember vividly the NUC rating either of 2006 or 2007 which placed the school 5th overall best uni in Nigeria but with the best Engineering, a report that rightly advise parents to watch the kind of uni they send their wards to because of how bad the students' results they saw displayed in every department in ATBU were. I can't forget in a hurry how my 1st CGPA of 3.76/5.00 crumbled b4 my very eyes. From 3.76 to 3.66 to 3.58 to 3.36 to ...., It went on and on and on until I finally graduated with 3.13. It was really frustrating. It got to a point that all I wanted is just how I would graduate and not what I graduate with.
ATBU is the only uni that withdraw students on academic grounds and these students would go to other uni and graduate with 2.1 or 2.2 or some times with nearly 1st class
it's only in ATBU students get carry over in IT or even in final year project you will student doing IT twice or a student spilling because of project. You can count the no of 1st class graduating students every year -not more than 10 from the entire uni. My Dept, civil engineering has never produced any 1st class since the official inception of the school in 1980.
some lecturers would tell you 'A' is 4 God, 'B' is 4 him and the extraordinary students and 'C'... is for others they tell you they are training you for the future when in actuality they are ruining your future. Because how do you even compete favourably with graduates from other uni in the labour market when they are coming with CGPAs of at least 2.1 when you are presenting mostly 2.2 and 3rd class or even pass? So, all these and more are enough to get students frustrated and depressed which most times result to self-withdrawal from the school or even make them nurse suicide. It was only faith in God and His mercy that saw us through successfully.
We used to call the school ATomic Bomb University (ATBU). grin grin

So, something really need to be done raise the standard of the University in a way that would make but not mar the future of the students.

Instead of you to tell us a more a important thing that would benefit one during the interview, you are here talking about exam no that no one seems to know anything about! Who knows whether you even attended any interview at all because I can't remember any exam no being given on the aptitude test day. The only thing I know is that our answer scripts required us to fill in some personal information like your name, phone no, post applied... I can't remember any exam no. And of again, I know they can't possibly base a whole interview on mere exam no -that I am certain. God help us all!

Why do you chose to insult people's parents as a way of correcting them? Pls change from such acts because an insult to people's parents is, indirectly, an insult on your parents. You know why? If they reply by insulting your parents too, then you brought your parents to the public to be insulted.

IslamRe: Ruling In Jungle Justice by AtbuAbdul(m): 9:26am On Jul 14, 2017
Lukgaf:
Honor Killing, Jungle Justice …NOT ISLAMIC!

Honor killing is the traditional practice in some countries of killing a family member who is believed to have brought shame on the family. Equally, jungle justice can be defined as the capital punishment meted out by individuals without any legal authority on a suspected individual. There are many cases or killing or and other capital punishments that are done on the basis of accusations and speculation, without proving whether the immoral action even took place. Some were killed for the reason that they confessed that: “I killed him/her”, whereas the truth is that they are possessed by Jinn(s). Some have killed their parents in this regards, Subhanallah!

Self-defense is allowed in Islam but it should not be misunderstood for jungle justice. Protecting oneself and one’s honor (like in the case of rape), mind, wealth and religion is a well-established basic principle in Islam. If a person or a vicious animal etc. attacks him, he has to defend himself, or his family or his property, and if he is killed he is counted as a martyr, and the killer will be in Hell - Narrated by Muslim (140).

It was narrated that Sa’eed ibn Zayd sallallahu ‘alayhi wasalam said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The one who is killed defending his wealth is a martyr, the one who is killed defending his family is a martyr, the one who is killed defending his religion is a martyr, and the one who is killed defending his life is a martyr.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi (1421), al-Nasaa’i (4095), Abu Dawood (4772); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Irwa’ al-Ghaleel (708) al-Nasaa’i (4081) and classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Nasaa’I, Majmoo’ al-Fataawa (28/540, 541), al-Rawd al-Murabbi’ (p. 677), Al-Mulakhkhas al-Fiqhi (2/443), Majmoo’ Fataawa Ibn Ibraaheem (11/255, 256).

In Islam, to slap someone’s face and beaten one more that 10 lashes are not allowed except in the case of hadd (capital punishment) approved by the authority (al-Bukhari, al-Fatih, 5/215, Qadaaya al-Lahw wa’l-Tarfeeh p.373, al-Bukhari 6456 and Muslim 3222). Hence, what is harsher cannot be allowed. Ibn Muflih al-Hanbali (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in al-Furoo’ (6/53): It is haraam for anyone to carry out a hadd punishment except the ruler or his deputy. This is something on which the fuqaha’ of Islam are unanimously agreed, as was stated in al-Mawsoo’ah al-Fiqhiyyah (5/280): The fuqaha’ are unanimously agreed that the one who should carry out hadd punishments is the ruler or his deputy, whether the punishment is transgressing one of the limits of Allah, may He be exalted, such as zina, or a transgression against another person, such as slander.

The scholars of the Standing Committee said: The one whose job it is to establish proof of witchcraft and carry out those punishments is the ruler who is in charge of the Muslims’ affairs, so as to ward off evil and to close the door to chaos. Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah (1/552). Shaykh Sulaymaan al-‘Alwaan: Once it is proven that a person is guilty of practicing magic, then he must be killed. This was proven from a group of the Sahaabah, but it is not for individuals to carry out this hadd punishment without the command of the ruler or his deputy, because carrying out the hadd punishments without the authority of the ruler may lead to mischief, and destroy any sense of security in the society, and undermine the position of the ruler. And other related scholarly views reference includes: Tafseer al-Qurtubi, 2/245, 246, Bidaayat al-Mujtahid, 2/233, Nayl al-Awtaar, 7/295, 296, Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 34/177-178.

My brethren! Refer cases to the relevant authorities, don’t participate in jungle justice act(s) and guide against it.

May Allah grant us understanding of His religion.
