The more reason why she should leave.
If your friend were that important to her in the first place, it'd have shown in her actions right from time
From what you're saying here, that is not the case here
Nobody treats someone who's important and dear to them like that
She knows your friend is softhearted and she's trying to take advantage
I repeat, she should leave that house
She's 28 for God's sake, not 16 or 17

Thank you I will try and knock sense into her head

Tell her to leave that house ASAP
That aunty is a big time manipulator.
By the time the senior kid finishes up with whatever he/she's up to, this once in a lifetime opportunity would be long gone
And who's to say that she won't come up with some new excuse as to why she shouldn't leave when the kid finally comes back?
It's not as if she's even treating her well in the first place
May God not let us come across people who wants to hold us back for their own selfish reasons
That's what I told her but the said Aunty is always complaining of sickness most of the time and the Aunty is making it seems she is wicked for trying to leave the house
Romance / What Do You Think About This by Athena6(f): 7:36pm On Dec 06, 2023
I have a friend who is 28 years old, she lost her parents 7 years ago and have been staying with her Aunty, during those 7 years she has face emotional abuse upon abuse, her Aunty is the type that likes to control, you have to obey her or she will abuse and abuse you and even threatened to drive her out of her house many times.
My friend endured for years, last month, a friend of ours told her about a job opening and want her to come for the job, she went and got the job, mind you the job is in another state and she will start in a week time.
Now this my friend have told her aunty about the job and how she will be going to another state because of the job.
This is now bringing an issue because she and the Aunty are the only ones living in the house, the Aunty 2 children are all in the university and the Aunty is telling her that she shouldn't go for the job, the Aunty start telling her how she is abandoning her that she should wait for her senior child which is in 300 to finish before leaving the house.
I personally told my friend to go for the job and don't reason anything but she has a soft heart and she thinks maybe she should stay until her Aunty senior child finish school.
If you were in her shoes what will you do

grin cheesy madness

Craze people everywhere......

Very funny set of people, like this is a clearance thread like things are supposed to be cheaper, I saw someone selling a used iPhone 12 pro for 630k the prize of the new one like why will I buy that used phone here when I can just go and buy a brand new one in the store.

One was selling normal cover shoe that is 5k or lesser normal, she posted it that it is 10k.

Despite all the proofs of him/her being a scammer given?

That dude is the scammer, everything he is doing is called "bluffing" him acting rich and always the first to tell you how important and rich he is because he want to create an illusion about himself so you won't suspect him.

That guy he called and say he transact up to 3M business with, let him come and say something or he is doing all this knowing the likelihood of the person coming here is zero.

Or is it him randomly calling someone of owing him 50$ to try create another scenario of him been rich and can't be the scammer.

Everything he has been doing is bluffing, that dude don't have any chi chi.

How did he contacted you?
I don't see your number on your page and why out of everyone, you are the one he contacted.

BronzeTiger be careful, the scam syndicate will use their other accounts to try and whitewash this accusations, they will likely pretend to be on your side while whitewashed the OP.

I don't know think we asked for NIN, what was asked was for the OP should provide traditional bank bearing the same details with her palmpay, that is all

Where is it?

That is the question, you will notice how she/he avoids that question and start talking about other things to divert from the main point.

That dude doesn't have a account bearing that name which means she is probably a guy pretending to be a female.

Exactly very straight forward thing, drop your dormant account as long as it's bearing the same name with your palmpay then your identity have been cleared.

Everything can be solved with her dropping her GT bank account but her saying different excuses shows she is obviously a scam and that Wujio account is probably the one behind the account.

He was the one that First ask her to drop her account details in the first thread she created and look at him defending Her and even trying to gaslight everyone that we are enemies of progress because we want to verify her identity

Oga stop with the gaslighting, nobody is an idiot here, the OP can provide her traditional account details and everybody will rest.

And I don't know you from anywhere, so stop trying to create a familiarity because you are looking for support.

We must kill defamation in this forum and the quickness to label people as scammer. It is wrong

At this point in time, you and the OP are probably the same person trying to scamm good nairalanders of their money because I don't see the big deal of telling someone to provide their traditional bank account.

You are just trying to gaslight people here, people work for your money, if some want to give me his or her hard earned money and ask my to drop my traditional account number to check my identity, I won't even waste time in dropping it.

All you do is attack people calling her out as if you Live under a stone and don't see how many people uses sob stories to scam in nairaland.

Any money gotten from scam will never make you prosper.

You are wrong. I will explain why many you users use palmpay and the likes. Many young ones do not command the cash flow older ones do. As a result they create these palmpay and opay accounts since they assume its for frequent use. Until a time like this they need good inflow. Lets not be too quick to judge otherwise we fall prey of judging wrongly.

If anyone feels concerned to assist an individual let them do so with an open mind. Otherwise shun the idea without making false accusations. Defamation does a lot of damage and we must never encourage it

Sir I have been in nairaland for years and let me tell you, I have seen many scammers been caught, yes many young people uses palmpay, even I uses it but like anything good, it is also use for bad.

Since tier one account can use any name, many scammers tend to use it because a guy can claim to be a woman by registering with a lady name.

This isn't even complicated, I am not accusing the OP of been a fraud, I am only asking her to drop her traditional account number, this isn't supposed to be a big deal, all she has to do it drop the number and everybody can rest.

That is all

Sir, I'm in the market now, you will have to give me time to get to GTB and see if I could receive money into the account.
Once I'm able to get it done I will send you the account sir.
I don't have the number for alert.

There is no need to go to the bank, just drop the Gtb account details here, money won't be paid to the account, the Gtb account is more like an identity to show you are genuine and your palmpay details also match with your other bank account.

Many people uses palmpay to scam because you can create a tier one account with it, meaning you can Register with any name or gender that is not your own and still receive funds.

You trying to dodge the questions and not providing your traditional bank details is making it seems like you are not genuine.

My two cents

The traditional name on my Palmpay is Olayiwola Abisola Emilola....
That's my legal name on Palmpay

I would like to send you something but you should do what BronzeTiger tell you to do, provide a traditional bank bearing the same name with your palmpay, even if the account is dormant, just provide it.

This way you will look genuine, BronzeTiger can send money to the palmpay if he likes as long as you can provide your bank with your details matching your palmpay .

I will also send a token too

I'm one of those people who advised that you buy dollar. I took out 8m out of my savings and bought USDT (Crypto) and now I'm currently losing about 1.4m. So madam, don't sell yet. It's going back up next week. It will first rebound back to where it's coming from and then even go a little higher before crashing back again. Just hold on a little. I promise to give you back your money if you lose. Trust me.

By the way, be careful of broke Nairaland guys who might want to take advantage of you by sending you DMs. They will look for ways to chop the remaining 2.4m

Thanks for the input but I sold it yesterday, I don't want to be feeling stressed out wondering whether it will go up or down.
Honestly I take risks but I promise myself that, that money will be use for something tangible in my life and wasting it on risky investments is something I will really feel bad about.

Thanks tho and wish you luck on your dollars

It's funny how people who have no direct business dealings with dollars, end up going to buy dollar to keep as a way of making money, or salvaging their savings, and still complain that the naira is losing value. It's either you guys are outrightly stupid, or suffer from gross ignorance. If every Nigerian decides to save their naira in dollar, how much do you guys think the naira will be worth? Yes, the government has its own faults but average Nigerians too are a problem to the country. Everyone is now trying to price their goods to the dollar even when they don't have a reason to. Only people who are trading with the dollar regularly, should have a business with it. You are earning naira as a person, you are not doing any imports, yet you want to buy dollar to keep as a way of defending your naira, aren't you part of the problem? There's a fictitious/unnecessary demand for the dollar which in turn, drives the value of the naira down.

@op: sorry you listened to the advice of most people here. You would be shocked to know majority of them are kids in real life, or people who get their information from beer parlor and market women cos I don't know why any sensible person would advise you to buy dollar to store, knowing fully well that it's already around 1300. That's a very risky and bad advice. Even if you want to trade forex, you don't buy when the price is that high, knowing fully well that the government is looking for ways to crash price down cos if they don't, they would be forced to deal with an army of hungry jobless Nigerians, as a lot of businesses would crash if the slide is not arrested. The only people who should buy it at that price, are people who need it urgently. Yesterday, I asked aboki for dollar and he said 1150. I told him I wanted as much as 10k and he offered to do it 1100 even without me pricing. By evening, price had crashed to about 1000 or 950 as it was reported elsewhere. He's going to be very desperate to sell now before it crashes further and this is what would happen to most speculators. The ripple effect of this is that more dollars would be available for sale and drive price further down. My advice is to not hold it further if you still have it.

Thanks for the advice, I have sold it this morning, I lost about 500k but it's better to have peace of mind than always checking whether the dollar will increase or not.
Anything investments, I am not doing again

A woman at your stage seeks financial independence. This path is marked with losses and heart breaks. Your scars are proof of your pursuit. As you become more confidence in your approach and learn to master your emotions over value, you will make better moves.

Example, Rule Two, never invest more than 25% of your income as a novice investor.

Rule one : Never lose money, try as much as possible to looose only minimmal.money. Thus mentality guides you to prudence and tames greed replacing greed with risk assesstment. I have stopped losing money for almost three years straight. I hardly lose money unless third parties impact in ways beyond my control. When you stop losing money. You then enter the next stage of money that is management. If you stabilize your money with little loses and consistent profit however little, you can begin to begin to get ahead in the money game

Thanks for the advice

Last week I created a thread talking about how my japa plans have been crushed due to the increase in dollar.

Many adviced me to invest in dollar, this was the advice they gave me months ago but I did follow through because I wasn't sure.
My last thread hit front page and 90% of the comments were advising me to invest in dollars, one even quoted that in the past 10 years, the dollar haven't fallen but it increases every year.

One even called me a weak minded person and I am scared to take risks.
After everything I thought to myself, since so many people felt this dollar will keep on rising, maybe I should invest afterall life is all about risks.

Well guess what, dollar have decreased, I invested 3M in buying dollars and now in today exchange rate. I have 2.6M now and I either cash out now or hope it will increase.

Right now, I am very angry.
Those giving me advice should come and contribute the 400k for me o

Another thing, do you think the dollar will increase or should I just cut my loses.
I am so tired 😫

Don't buy dollar immediately. Government announced some policies in the last few days that are supposed to stabilize the forex market and eventually bring down the dollar again naira. Watch the market for a week or two. If these policies do not reverse the downward slide of the naira with this period and the dollar continues to rise, please quickly buy dollar with money. It means the government has no real solution to the fall of naira. Note one dollar is about 1290 to 1310 today
