maestro09: I just got an admission to Trent University for a masters degree for Fall 2021. I applied to Ryerson university but I’m yet to get an admission decision. Being that Ryerson university is more ranked than Trent, should I wait for Ryerson? Or I should proceed with Trent.
I have previously begun document gathering for Visa Application. good evening. I also applied to Trent university but around the deadline. What program were you given admission for at Trent university? Also when did you apply for admission? |

kelvine95: I was denied Visa for;
1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence. 2. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.
And I got my gcms notes just now. Please note that I got a funding of 26,100 cad per year for 2 years. My tuition is 18,300 cad for first year and around 12,000 cad for 2nd year. I totally understand the comments from the visa officer aside for the *unreasonable cost*, since my tuition us fully covered, why is that still a problem?
I also noticed that the VO probably did not read my application correctly, since I applied to Dalhousie University and not University of Regina. sorry bro. I wish u had money to sue this people. Why would they make a mistake of write Regina instead of Dalhousie? Let's what for the gurus to contribute. Be strong, u would get the visa |

Rootiab: Good day everyone. Please permit me to share my story. I started this Canada talk since 2012/2013 when I graduated from secondary school then I later went to one university in ghana. Fast forward to 2018 when I was serving and I still wanted to travel then 2020 came and j started my process, I was miraculously able to raise 1m cause when I suggested Canada to my parents they said no. So before I started, a friend gave me an agents number which I called and he said I can't get admission for masters with my 2.2 and that even if I apply for pgd I have 20% chance of getting visa, I later went home and prayed and I applied and I got admission into 2 schools in Canada and chose Memorial and I paid part of my tuition which was also above the initial deposit and I wrote my ielts, which I just prepared for 3 days and I passed. So after all this I started thinking of where will I get statements since my parents are refusing to sponsor or help in anyway, then I spoke with ese and she told me to pray and have faith, although I contacted some people who were telling me to pay 500k, 400k for statements of just 10m. So I finally decided to go back and ask my parents with the help of my sister and Glory be to God my parents agreed and gave me statements of 15m which was more than what other were offering for 500k. Luckily for me I was able to submit my application this morning by 3am. I Just want to Say Thank you so much y'all for encouraging everyone and also advising everyone. I'm grateful, for those yet to apply and still in process, commit everything to God and he will do it. Peace congratulations in advance. Please can u break down your IELTS score for me? What did u score in each sections |

Me: Yes VO: Biology PhD, right? Me: Yes VO: Why xxxx University? Me: A key factor in my decision to pursue a PhD in this university is the overlap between my research interest and that of professors in the department like Prof. Bleep and Prof. xxxxx. In addition to that, the fact the the admission came with full funding made it an easy decision VO: Are you married Me: No VO: Do you have a winter jacket? Me: I’ll get one if you approve my visa VO: I’ll be approving your visa, go and pay your reciprocity fee over there.
In other news. Has anyone used Royal Air maroc? I'm considering them. why hiding your university? Cos I don't understand. Will someone call the university to withdraw your admission? |

Mideyo234: My experience is in IT support and not specifically Network security. I am still doing NYSC Yes I have a certification in Cybersecurity that was referenced in my SOP I gave my best reasons for why I wanted to study the course, probably wasn’t enough. My home ties were also mentioned in the SOP.
What changes and additions can be made to address these concerns in my next application? nice. Why not spread your wings to the UK? |

englois: Some Nairalanders have been enquiring via mail as of how I got admission offer for MASC.
So, I'd like to explain what I did.
Being a thesis based program, I had to secure a supervisor. I sent several mails, some unresponded till date. The mail comprise of a cover letter where i speak about myself, my B.Sc research project, my skills. Also, I tend to skim through the supervisors profile so I can include 2 - 3 sentences about their work and how it relates to mine. All this to no avail as some will say no funding, no space, inadequate GPA, etc.
So I changed tactics. After finding a prospective professor, I'll look for one of his/her numerous journals and read. Sometimes, It would take like 2-3 days to understand the journal and how it relates to mine. I'll then write my cover letter praising his research work and suggesting likely recommendations. I'll use like 65% of the cover letter to speak about the prof and his work and use the remaining space to speak about myself and how my work will benefit him. Afterwards, I'll attach my transcripts, CV and Bsc research project.
In no time, this worked and I got a supervisor who accepted me. He felt elated that I read and understood his project. I sent him another mail to give me a chance. He said he was not promising but he will try to defend me before graduate admission committee.
With God on my side, I received my offer of admission. I give all glory to God.
I apologise for the long post. thanks. Did your admission come with full scholarship? |
