According to this Facebook video, this incident happened somewhere in the South East. Armed masked men arrived at a residential building, banged on the gate and demanded to be let into the compound. They claimed to be Nigerian Police. The occupants demanded that they take off their masks and show them ID For that, one of the alleged Police opened fire, making to occupants to run into the building and lock the doors. One of the armed men now scaled the fence, and opened the gates for the others. The video stops running, nobody is sure what happened next Lawyers in the house, if this was my house and I have a licencd gun, do I have the right to shoot this armed masked man climbing my fence? https://www.facebook.com/EmekaGiftOfficial/videos/534436992954137/?app=fbl

A foremost civil rights group, International Society for Civil Rights and Rule of Law (Intersociety), has alleged that security forces and local vigilance groups killed over 32,300 unarmed civilians across the South-east within the past nine years. The group, while presenting a special report, also claimed that security forces extorted about N3trillion at road blocks within the same period of time. The report titled: “Ocean Of Innocent Blood Flowing in Eastern Nigeria was unveiled in Enugu yesterday, during a world press conference. While presenting the findings of the report, board chairman of the group, Emeka Umeagbalasi, alleged that security agencies and killer-vigilance groups “used ‘IPOB/ESN/BIAFRA terrorism’ as a pretext to secretly massacre 22,500 unarmed civilians and openly killed 9,800 others (totaling over 32,300) in the past nine years and four months (August 2015-Dec 2024).” The group further alleged that thousands were unlawfully detained and tortured, whereas over 6,000 were blindfolded or face-bagged and bundled at late night from the East and dumped uninvestigated in seven Northern States of Niger, Kogi, Nasarawa, Benue, Kaduna, Zamfara and FCT (Abuja) It said that over 300 Igbo communities were raided within the same period, and 6,000 civilian houses razed, 180,000 displaced, one million frightened and forced to abandon their homes and flee. The group said: “The report further catalogued and exposed massive arbitrary arrests, perpetual detentions arising from uninvestigated and un-triable phantom allegations, kangaroo arraignments, late night abduction and face-bagging of unarmed Igbo civilians to secret military detention facilities in northern Nigeria, torture and bodily lacerations, open killings and secret executions, enforced disappearances, dead body persons’ disappearances and criminal interments.” Speaking on the allegation of collecting N3trillion in bribe within the period, Umeagbalasi said: “The report also notes that N3trillion was corruptly seized and pocketed by security forces at roadblocks and gunpoints, with the Nigeria Police Force taking in the highest amount. “Additionally, an estimated 2.7 million illicit small arms and light weapons have been proliferated in the region, including 400,000 in the hands of Fulani jihadists and allied groups.” In its recommendation, the group called for urgent action to address these human rights abuses, including prosecution and compensation for victims’ families. The report’s author has also urged the Nigerian government to prevent further abuses and ensure accountability within the security forces. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2024/12/24/report-security-operatives-killed-32000-civilians-extorted-n3trn-in-south-east-in-9-years/?amp |

At least nine people have been killed and four others critically injured following a violent clash between farmers and herders in Jigawa State. The incident occurred in the Miga and Jahun Local Government Areas and marks the latest in a series of deadly confrontations in the region. The violence began after a group of suspected Fulani miscreants reportedly stole a large quantity of hibiscus and other valuable items from a shop in Gululu village in the Miga Local Government Area. Farmers, tracing the thieves’ footprints, confronted them in the Fulani settlement camp at Yankunama village, Jahun LGA. Tensions escalated when the farmers were met with bow and arrow fire, leading to casualties on both sides. DSP Lawan Shisu Adam, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the situation intensified when locals retaliated, attacking the Fulanis and setting fire to their homes in multiple areas of Miga and Jahun LGAs. Police personnel from both Miga and Jahun Divisions were deployed to restore order. The Jigawa police headquarters confirmed the collection of nine bodies, which were transported to Jahun and Miga Hospitals, where a medical doctor also confirmed their deaths. https://saharareporters.com/2025/01/04/nine-persons-killed-four-injured-fresh-farmers-herders-clash-jigawa-state |

Popular Anambra based Skit-makers, content creators and comedians, Udu and Nwoke, collectively known as the 'Albino Bothers', were shocked to their bone marrow when Peter Obi attended their show with nobody, not even security. The story is that the brothers, who are also twins, hosted a comedy show in the city of Onitsha. However, unbeknown to the brothers and everyone in the hall, Peter Obi attended. Peter Obi had ditched his trade mark black attire, his glasses, and wore a simple shirt and light brown trousers, making himself unrecognisable. After the show Peter Obi walked up to the brothers, called them by their names, leaving the brothers tongue tied that Peter Obi had not only attended their show, but came alone. Peter Obi told the brothers that he was a big fan of theirs , flipped out his phone and showed them some of their skits he had saved on his phone. Peter Obi then thanked the brothers for a wonderful show and left.

Equatorial Guinea has been in the news lately because of a top Government official called Baltasar Ebang and his 'adult content creating'. But Equatorial Guinea needs to be in the News for much more than that. Here are 5 incredible things about the country (1) The President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Obiang Nguema, is the longest serving President in the world. He overthrew his own uncle, Francisco Macías Nguema, in a military coup in 1979, had him executed and seized power. He has been President for 45 years (2) Equatorial Guinea is one of the few countries in the world where the capital is not in the country. The capital of Equatorial Guinea is the Island of Malabo, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It takes a 40 minute flight from Equatorial Guinea, over the Atlantic Ocean to get to it. (3) Equatorial Guinea is the only country in the world that has Father and son as President and vice-president. While President Obiang Nguema is President, his first son Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, is vice President. In addition to this, 4 of Presidents other son's are ministers of Oil, Sports, mines and industry, and Agriculture. The first lady, Constancia Mangue, is also minister of Health (4) Equatorial Guinea is amongst the top 10 most corrupt countries in the world. Although Equatorial is an oil rich country, much of its 1.7 million people live in abject poverty while the President, his family and cronies live a lavish life. President Nguema owns six private jets, homes in Cape Town, Paris, Madrid, Las Palmas and Maryland, and bank accounts in numerous countries, including France and Switzerland. He bought a $2.6 million residence in Potomac, Maryland , USA. His wife, Constancia Mangue, also owns $1.5 villa in the same city. His first son, Teodoro Nguema obiang Mangue, is such a big Michael Jackson fan that he once bought the diamond encrusted gloves the late artist used in performing for $270,000. In 2012, the Nguema family mansion in Paris, worth over 100 million Euros was raided by French Police, over 30 million Euros worth of items including 17 luxury cars, cloths and jewelry were seized as part money laundering investigations. (5) At 82 years old, President Obiang Nguema is the second oldest President in Africa after Paul Biya of Cameroun, and the 5th oldest President in the world. He also has 5 wife's and an unknown number of children

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu normally calls Nigeria a zoo. Seems that some people think he has been too kind. This tweet by Dele Farotimi made me to laugh MNK is wrong, and he insults animals and zoologists around the world. I warrant that any zoo ran the way Nigeria has been ran, would have had its licenses revoked, the animals rehoused, and the people managing its operations incarcerated..
