Foreign Affairs / Re: US Warns Ukraine There Will Be A Full Scale Russian Invasion ( Pics) by atutupoyoyo2211: 12:39pm On Feb 24, 2022 |
Thats not how this works. US and Russia are both nuclear powers. Therefore, since after world war 2, Nuclear powers dont normally fight each other because that is easily world war 3. Assuming Ukraine was a NATO ally, Russia would have not gone in at all, cos then NATO would attack, and that also is world war 3. Russia cannot destroy USA in an all out war, because of allies. They would fold like Germany during Hitler, but a lot of people would died, kingthreat: 1 Like |
Celebrities / Re: Kemi Adetiba Announces Engagement To Oscar Heman-Ackah by atutupoyoyo2211: 8:43am On Feb 10, 2022 |
Its so sad to see the level of immaturity on this thread. These 2 adults decided to be with one another, and they love each other. Kemi is an accomplished lady, Oscar is an accomplished man in his own right ( if you know you know). Before you insult the 2 of them, make sure you are doing better in life. And for the person the made reference to his instagram followers, trust me, i know millionaires that have less than 2000 followers on Instagram. Myself, i have only 200 followers. So, When i started this thread about 3 years ago, some of the first comments were, "this is another scammer", another said " wait, he will soon tell you to send money". almost 4 years down the line, no one has been asked to send anything. I know as Nigerian, we are always skeptical about a lot of things. My aim of opening this thread was to let people know, it is possible to save any reasonable amount, if you put your mind to it. I gave myself a target and i met it, and that was when i was working as a security guard. Now i work as an instructor at SAIT in Calgary, making $60/hr (30 hours a week) and i have a security job i work on weekends making $15/hr (48 hours a week). My income in January was almost 12k because i also taught at Anderson college and CCHS in Toronto (All Online). I am married with one child and my wife also works making $2200 a month. Our rent is $1450 a month (inclusive of utilities) , my car loan is $500 a month, feeding maybe another $500, and maybe a couple of other little bills. And someone will come and say, i cant save 30,000 in a year? i will save that in 6 months not even a year. My sisters works as a nurse and worked 3 jobs last year, one physical job (AHS) and 2 online jobs (Covid Screener). And she made over 180k last year. Listen people, I will keep saying it, it is possible, whether you believe it or not. This is for those that believe, please keep believing and make sure you purposely save. I have a piggy bank i use and that has really really helped me. If you feel like eating out, save it and eat in. Trust me, little things like that make a huge difference. I rest my case. ibechris: 24 Likes 3 Shares |

Family / Re: Wives Living In Nigeria And Husbands Abroad: My Encounter by atutupoyoyo2211: 10:47am On Sep 25, 2020 |
Exactly. My wife and i got married in 2015, and i had to leave her home in 2016 and travel to Canada for greener pastures. But we both endured it and in 2018, i brought her over to Canada as a permanent resident. Now things are going very well for us. Most men dont leave because the want to but because they have to. That is what makes a man. Samakus: 1 Like |

i did have 2 jobs, but i had no overtime on any of them, just regular hours. But like you said, the society one lives in matters a lot. I love Nigeria, but trust me, as a shell contract staff, i put in a lot of work, and transportation alone from island to mainland gulped about 5 extra unpaid hours in my day, and then you go back home to no light, noise from generator, security issues, LASMA, road safety, and SARS. No matter how we look at it, no matter the tax, no matter the bills, the peace of mind in a civilized country outside Nigeria can never be overemphasized. sharpman1: 29 Likes 1 Share |

They refunded it. It was when it was refunded they told me it was bank error. I guess they didnt want me to sue. Cos it was their customer care that told me what happened at the bank branch. Brightfab: 2 Likes |

Honestly it was anger that made me remove that money from the bank. I wanted to make a withdrawal of 10k and the bank started asking me useless questions as if the money is not my own. Even asking me why i was withdrawing it. And the funny thing is that, this same bank did not see anything suspicious when someone walked in one of their branches in BC about a month ago, cancelled my bank card, opened a new bank card and spent almost $5k of my money in 36hours. They didnt even notice it until i called them to block my account. After investigating, they called me and apologized saying it was bank error. Now tell me, how is it bank error when someone, walks into a branch, cancels your card, opens a new card and then makes an atm withdrawal of $900, then 300, then 400, from the same atm in the bank premises, and then goes on a spending spree to almost $5000, and they didnt see anything suspicious in that. The funny thing was that an hour before the person cancelled my card i made a transaction in a different province. for example, how can someone make an atm withdrawal in Halifax and then one hour later come to a bank branch in Vancouver to cancel the same card? Hey Guys, its been a while. I have been off for a while just to concentrate on work. By the way, i have made my Savings target. I actually hit 20k savings on the 15th of July, three and half months from when i started. I withdrew everything as cash and gave wifey to hold, so that i can start saving again. To be honest, this pandemic actually helped, cos there was no place to spend the money. 30 Likes |

You said it like it is. I had a savings target, i couldnt make it because my hours were cut. But you know something, i think the main reason i couldnt make much last year was also because i had to relocate provinces to go to school. Last year i worked only till july and then december and i still made 51k. Now i didnt say i saved 51k, i said i made. My wife made 22k just working till july last year too. (we worked in the same company). Now supposing i didnt have to stop work and go to school, there would have been a possibility that i would have actually made up to 90k last year and adding my wife's income, we would have comfortably surpassed 100k last year. My overtime hours were cut at my main job last year, but i got another job working security for the Jewish congregation, that was how i was able to still make 51k in 7 months.Like i always say, and will always say, it is possible. Now as for saving 20k in 3 months, i will do it. I didn't say i will make, I will save 20k by the end of July. God willing. salford1: 9 Likes

I stopped responding to your comments Babyvet, cos you actually do not give constructive critism, you insult a lot. You called me a phoney, a liar, and other obscene words, and you don't even know me. Someone at the beginning of this thread said that i would soon start contacting people for business from this thread, and its over 2 years now, if i have contacted anyone, pls let them tell us. My new goal was to save 15k by the 10 of July, i am upping that to 20k by the end of July. I am doing this cos my wife decided to take up 70% of our rent which is about $800, and i am already at $4200 in my savings as of end of April. I started the savings on the 10th of April. This is the last year i wanna work so much hours. After this year, and i can save what i want to save, it will be time to invest. And if i can save the $20k by the end of July, God willing i will go for another 20k before the end of the year. This will also be my last year working as a Security guard. I will be moving on to Cybersecurity. Those who want to be inspired can be, and those who chose to be negative, well, God bless. Life is too precious, to waste on negativity, its not like anyone of us are going to get out of life alive anyway. Babyvet: 47 Likes |

Shit is really real here. We have already had 4 deaths in our health center from Covid 19. we also have about 6 staff infected. I screened a nurse today with a high temperature, 2 days in a row, I'm almost certain she has it too cos she was a nurse for 2 of the 4 covid patients. In the past 2 weeks, i was fortunate enough to prevent 3 potential Covid cases from coming into the center. You know, for the first time, i began to reevaluate my commitment today. i know i am helping out, but sometimes i feel i need to be selfish too. 15 Likes |

yeah I meant the first one. I dont qualify for the CERB once I'm working. And moreover, if i try to take it and work, i will still have to pay back. its simply not right. Other people are really having a hard time now and need that money. But lets see if i can meet my target. naijaman3: 8 Likes |

Hey guys, so i want to just try a quick 3 months activity. As some of you know, because of School i have not been able to work so much late last year and this year so far. So i decided last night to work for the next 3 months. I have 2 places i will work at. First is a health center and the 2nd is a pharmaceutical company. Now i'm gonna be doing security at the 2 companies. I got 4 security job offers, but i decided to go for the 2 safest and also the ones i could help out during this pandemic. Now i could sit at home and take the government $2k, my wife is doing that already. But working gives me an opportunity to make 4k or 5k each month. I know we are in a pandemic, and i am keeping myself as safe as can be, we are provided all the PPE we require. i'm gonna put up a picture of me in my PPE. Now, i am gonna put up all the paystubs up as i get them, so we can also see the taxes I'm paying. Now i do have bills to pay as does everyone, but I'm gonna plan it out as best as i can. The health center pays $20.448 an hour while the pharmaceutical company pays $17.20. I like doing this cos its very educative and informative based on personal experiences, on how much one can earn and save on little wages. Hopefully, we will all survive this pandemic and give God the glory and our medical practitioners the kudos. 38 Likes 3 Shares

I'm actually not offended. Your statistics may be right for the average PSW. Like they say, the average security guard makes maybe about CAD28k a year, but i wasnt the average guard. I make explanations based on my personal experience, not what the average statistics says. Thats why i created this thread. Because before my family came to Canada, all we were hearing and seeing is the same statistics you are providing. But obviously, i guess we are not the average. Fhemmmy: 16 Likes 2 Shares |

Normally, i would probably not reply, but since we are all staying at home, i have a little more time. First of all, My mum never did any savings in pounds, she was in Canada not Uk, so obviously it was in dollars. And maybe you can show me where i said 51k pounds, that would be nice. Second of all, Your sister worked very hard just like mine. Maybe if you try and do the same, you won't be complaining about someone else income. Kekereekun123: 20 Likes |
