List these 500 antiship missiles

Yes, 4 missiles launched against a fleet operating 1000s of miles away from home, with no air-superiority and a fleet that was not designed for that kind of warfare in anycase. Try that against the French fleet with Horizon class destroyers, a carrier and 200 Rafaels and Mirages operating from HOME BASES

No, algeria has 1 898 APC's in service.

Post citations or get out.
LOL , i just got banned posting the super long list of SIPRI weapons of Algeria. The anti-spam bot warned me first time that it was too long, I retried it again I got banned.

Go to SIPRI, Algeria has 500 anti-ship missiles and 3,000 APC-IFV, plus 5,000 anti-tank missiles.

Algerian military arsenal is so long you cannot post it on nairaland, 10 times longer than that of South Africa. LOL .

My advice to African countries facing terrorist attacks, copy Morocco. Despite being one of Africa's most modernized, sophisticated and powerful military, the army of Morocco is not ashamed to drive around it this COIN vehicle, cheap, fast and effective 4x4 with twin ZPU 14.5 mm guns.

If Nigeria threw 1,000 units of these into the Boko Haram war one year ago, it would have been a much quicker victory for us

The PL-9C is a 3rd generation missile characterised by less manoeuvrability and a small angle of view(40 degrees boresight compared to 120 degrees of the A-Darter).

It doesn't have manoeuvrability like modern body lift missiles like the ASRAAM, A-Darter and IRIS-T boasting agility up to 50g upwards. Modern IR SRAAM missiles use TVC(trust vector controls) instead of fins like your dinosaur aged missile.

Which allow them to make extreme turns to attack targets behind the launch aircraft, your old PL-9C can only make head on attacks.

Coupled with your terrible - 40km radar coverage, there's nothing you can against 4th Gen armed with 5the Gen missiles intercepting you out outside your radar angular coverage.

The Grifo-7 can't be compared to the PS-05/A radar which has been modified for SAAF's needs.
NAF F-7 jet radar is year ~2005 Grifo radar and is more modern than your SAAF Gripen jet's ~year 1995 radar 20 years obsolescent.

The Nigerian F-7NI is a surprise package for any challenger in Africa, very modern Italian radar, very high speed modern ~BVR missile.

SAAF has 20 km range short-legged missiles, and CANNOT attack from outside angle of a superior Grifo radar on NAF jets, your Gripens carry an obsolescent 20 year old radar, nobody modernized anything on that old school weak radar, all it has is long range, else it's near obsolete.

Missiles don't go dancing around with 100g turns in a close range death zone combat, pilot's death is in few seconds. No SAAF missile can handle PL-9C that speeds at over 4,000 km/h just too fast, it will beat any A-Darter g turn, before the A-Darter turns any spin to play,
the PL-9C has hit the Gripen jets with a sting of death.

PL-9C missile has probability hit on target of 90%.

SAAF is dead and gone to the grave when it faces NAF !

From centre of explosion to Gripen is 5.6km (radius), making the diamter of the spherical explosion 11.2km. Fail.
You fail Soweto brain !

The Gripen is 5.6 km away from the center of explosion, it can only be on one side of a circle, in mathematics an object is always a RADIUS distance from the center of a circle NOT diameter distance.

All your arguments are hereby destroyed because you failed GEOMETRY in school and mathematics is a problem for ALL South Africans.

See photo below, the victim is on one side of a circle, left hand side, and thus a radius distance away from circle centre, the diameter is on the opposite end side of the circle, right hand side, and one object cannot be in two different places at the same time. See photo below, the victim is only a radius away from circle center NOT a diameter !

The Gripen is 5.6 km radius distance from the EXPANDING AND SPREADING HIGH SPEED EXPLOSION SCATTERING DEBRIS, FIREBALLS AND PROJECTILES in divergent wave towards the speeding Gripen !

In 4 seconds time the Gripen will be inside the blast radius and perish.

You CANNOT stop or fully turn/bank away a 2,000 km supersonic speed jet in 4 seconds ! Jet engine and airframe follows law of physics called inertia, motion cannot stop or change instantly at very high speed in a very short time of 4 seconds, and flying into an explosion the power of 3 anti-tank armour piercing mines plus 10 gallons of petrol for roasting !

Gripen jet is dead and gone to the grave !

Using missile to stop missile, both missiles are AAMs, is like tyring to use a bullet to stop a bullet ! Mission impossible. Nobody ever did it !

HAHAHA!!! such desperation.

You clearly haven't even noticed the point....fake military researcher!!! grin grin cheesy grin

How can two air to air missiles cause an explosion of blast diameter 11.2 KILOMETERShuh grin

You cant even comprehent that its not possible. Are they nuclear tipped warheads? The photo i used is of a NUCLEAR EXPLOSION FO.OL grin grin

Worst case scenario....Gripen is stationary and not moving. Meaning the explosion will need 11.2 kilometer blast diameter to damage Gripen = NOT POSSIBLE grin.

Real world scenario....Gripen will bank directly away from incomining PL-9, fire A-Darter in self defence. Meaning the blast needed to destroy Gripen is even more than 11.2 kilometers diameter = NOT POSSIBLE grin

Gripen pilot will not keep flying straight towards an incoming missile. You made that sh*t up....fail!!! He will evade threat, and fire A-Darter missile while he is evading (over the shoulder firing).

You are not a military researcher....you are a security guard. Fraud!!!

11.89 kg warhead of PL-9 plus A-Darter warhead will cause an explosion of blast diameter 11km? Hahaha....how embarrassing grin
Mister Liar ! You said yesterday that the explosion is 5.6 km away from the Gripen, so when you say my reply, you magically changed it to two times farther away at 11 km.....Fear of defeat...leads to wild imaginations grin grin

Fact is, the supersonic speed Gripen is speeding at 2,000 km/h into the blast 5.6 km distance ahead, and the blast is also speeding debris and projectiles towards the Gripen in head on collision.....hear your own voice below...

saengine:
Meaning...PL-9 missile was 5.6 km away from hitting Gripen before A-Darter blew it up. But remember YOU said this same explosion will blow up/damage Gripen in its fireball and shrapnel....im starting to laugh already grin

Next, you say 11.8 kg explosive of both missiles ?

Well, a military researcher is always one step ahead of you grin

PL-9C missile high explosive warhead alone is 11.89 kg....say 12 kg.

Add A-Darter warhead, say another 12 kg.

Total high explosive = 24 kg = 3 times the explosive power of anti-tank landmine that blows up solid steel armoured main battle tanks !

Plus the fuel inside both missiles, say 10 gallons of flammable fuel ! You forgot to add fuel explosion to warhead explosion !

So, power of the blast is = 3 anti-tank land mines and 10 gallons of petrol all mixed together against an aluminium/glass body aircraft !

You cannot turn a high speed jet aircraft away from a frontal incoming divergent wave explosion in 4 seconds.

Gripen is travelling at supersonic high speed 2,000 km/h and just 4 seconds away from an incoming explosion that is throwing high speed debris, fire and sharp projectiles in divergent wave (SPREADING OUTWARD INCREASING AREA COVERAGE IN A 360 DEGREE SPHERICAL DIRECTION.....four dimensional explosion on all four cardinal points....see my photo below).

The Gripen is not a spirit that turns in half a second, not even one second, pilots needs several seconds to pull throttle stick, jet needs time to respond, airframe ailerons and flaps need time to respond, jet fighters CANNOT make high g pulls or sharp turns at supersonic high speed, the jet will stall.....means lose control by losing engine power, or the wings can break off and tear off the aircraft.

Gripen has died o !

I just showed you why close range air combat is called a zone of death, and the 20 km missile range is a NO ESCAPE ZONE for pilots.

Also, I have shown you why no pilot in this world has ever stopped a missile with his own missile, air to air missiles, NO PILOT NO WAR HAS EVER ACHIEVED THAT MISSION IMPOSSIBLE !

Always one step ahead of you.....get it ? Yes you get it !

The U.S military spends 17,000 dollars on the gear of an average soldier.

Another concern is the increasing cost of vehicles, equipment, and individual gear. General Anderson said that it costs more than $17,000 to fully outfit an individual soldier. For example, the various components of modern body armor costs almost $4,000 per set. More advanced armor is in the offing -- which will cost more. The next most expensive items for the rifleman is his M16A4 rifle -- $1,200. And, the next most costly item is the ILBE (Individual Load Bearing Equipment) harness -- $415.
That is why I said, South African army should deploy 30,000 troops into one single battle theatre like Nigerian army and let us see how well kitted their soldiers will be.

It's easy to put 1,000 troops into UN Peace mission and dress them like American soldiers, but deploy 30,000 troops and see the cost of kits

South Africa Air Force Museum Receives Cessna 150 from Nigeria
March 11, 2015 - Uncategorized - Tagged: Africa, Africa Defence, African Defense, African Military, Nigeria, South Africa
On Saturday, 07 March 2015, the Chief of the South African Air Force (CAF), Lt Gen F.Z. Msimang received a Cessna 150 (replica) aircraft from the Nigerian Civil Training Centre. The handing-over ceremony was held at the South African Air Force (SAAF) Museum.

The ceremony served as a milestone in the history of the SAAF. It is an opportunity to reflect on the training of Non-Statutory Force (NSF) pilots’ pre-1994 and to recover the success story over this period and time.

The aircraft produced the current and former leaders in the SAAF. In the late 1970s, Maj Gen G. Malinga (Deputy Chief of Air Force), Maj Gen M.M. Mangethe (retired), Maj Gen L. Ngema (retired) and more, were trained and qualified as pilots on this aircraft.

Maj Gen H.T. Paine (retired) officially handed over the aircraft’s log book to the CAF that will soon form part of the SAAF Museum inventory under the command of Lt Col M.F. O’Connor. The former graduates are expected to accompany the CAF to this special occasion.

Why does the Gripen only hit the target 5km away?

Why not 10? 15? 20?

No pilot has shot one down because 3rd gen missiles are only starting to be used now - and incase you noticed there hasnt been air-to-air combat in allmost a decade.
Why did you say Gripen radar detects F-7 from 120 km away, why not 50 km ? In war do you always have airbases and frontlines 120 km away from each other like from one city to three cities away ? What is an FOB, what is a forward airstrip or air base ?

....go back to the beginning of the argument, the missiles have traveled and the pilots have traveled to close gap from distance and the Gripen is now 5 km away from missiles explosion blast radius.....or does your brain work in reverse gear ?

-why would the Gripen pilot fly straight towards an incoming missile for a full 9 seconds after launch detection? He's busy chatting on whatsapp, and got distracted? He would make a sharp bank away from the threat. Massive Fail

- A Darter can be fired at threats directly behind Gripen. Im sure you didnt know that. Pilot has banked away from missile threat and fired A-Darter in defence. Your PL-9 cannot dodge defensive missiles. You cannot just make something up and pretend its true. Your PL-9 3rd generation IR seeker head is designed to trace the heat signature of the target aircraft, and AT BEST IGNORE other infrared heat signature it believes are decoys. Ignore, not dodge. At the very best your missile will pick up incoming A-Darter heat signature, register it as a decoy, and keep flying towards its original lock on heat signature...the Gripen. It has no ability to process the fact the A-Darter is intent on destroying it, or even dodging it at that. Your second massive fail.

- Listen to this piece of sh*t made up comment. This is a very special piece of sh*t you made up.

The missiles will explode "about 5 seconds" away from Gripen. With the fire ball/explosion blowing up the Gripen or killing the pilot.

I know you were educated under a tree, so let me make it very basic. You say the 2 missiles will collide and explode "5 seconds away" from Gripen.

Your basic lesson for the night.

*Assume Gripen is stationary/not moving/stuck in the air. Stationary target 20km away from F-7 jet.

*From 20km away you fire a PL-9 missile. It flies straight towards the stationary Gripen.

*STATIONARY Gripen fires an A-Darter in self defense. According to you they collide and explode with just 5 seconds of the PL-9's flight time left. Meaning the PL-9 flew for 13 seconds (of the 18 seconds needed to hit the stationary Gripen)

*Now. Remember I keep saying this is a stationary Gripen. It hasnt even tried to bank away and evade the PL-9 missile.. Basic question....how much further did your PL-9 missile need to travel in order to hit the Gripen?

Okay...you say it travels at 4000km/h = 1111m/s
In the first 13 seconds of un-interupted flight, your missile travelled 1111m/s × 13 = 14 443 meters (14.4km)

Meaning...PL-9 missile was 5.6km away from hitting Gripen before A-Darter blew it up. But remember YOU said this same explosion will blow up/damage Gripen in its fireball and shrapnel....im starting to laugh already grin

PL-9C and A-Darter explode 5.6 km ahead of Gripen, but supersonic speed Gripen flies fast at 2,000 km/h into the explosion danger head !

1. Two missiles, one main big fire ball. Centre of explosion fireball....it does not vanish in few seconds....the burning continues.

2. High explosive warheads produce shrapnel, splinters, broken pieces of flame that is forced to scatter at high speed in 360 degrees direction.

3. Fire balls at centre of explosion does not vanish away in 1 second, it goes continues combustion for many seconds. Still deadly....see your own photo above. Missiles contain both high explosive warheads and fuel....mix all together !

4. The Gripen is actually flying at fast supersonic speed towards the exploded missiles, it will run into the fire ball just 4 seconds ahead !

5. Also, second danger is that the Gripen is flying at supersonic speed towards the blown up missiles, and the splinters/shrapnel/burning hot flying projectiles from the explosion is also flying at high speed towards the Gripen, in 2 seconds the Gripen will enter the flying shrapnel/debris radius and get a blast hit on the Gripen. Many pilots have died in real life war from high speed debris breaking through cockpit canopy glass to strike the pilot, or engine gets hit like a bird strike, or ordnance gets hit and explodes, or fuel tank gets hit and explodes.

Gripen has flown into death circle ! EXPLOSION OR BLAST RADIUS is the name ! See my photo below.

Try drive a car at 200 km/h speed and try escape an exploding petrol container 2 seconds position ahead of you !

A 2,000 km/h speed jet will not escape an explosion of missiles just 4 seconds ahead of the jet, it will fly into the burning death trap.

I am talking from pilots' real life combat experience, not internet copy and paste via google search.

Military researcher will ALWAYS be one step ahead of you !

3rd Generation missile the PL-9C is.

The F-7Ni must have the target in front of it.
Citation needed.

PL-9C has manuever turns like any other missile. A guided missile locked-on target will turn back to chase you if you turn backwards.

The F-7 radar is a newer generation than the Gripen radar. F-7 radar has a year ~2005 radar, the Gripen has an older year 1997 radar.

The F-7 of NAF actually has a technically more advanced radar than the Gripen of SAAF

Gripen detects you at 120km - F-7 pilots dont even know enemy aircraft are around at that distance.

Squadron breaks, half cut height and push off to the sides, half turn around and lure you into the trap.

You know they dont HAVE to travel in straight lines and they dont HAVE to fly straight at you.

By the time you see the half baiting the trap the other half are well outside the cone of the F-7 radar on your flanks.

Gripen maneuvers are red line
F-7 are black line.

I kept it simple so you could understand grin
I have lectured you so much, but your moronic head still thinks radar is like FLIR foward looking infra red.

Radar is not light beams, it is waves that blow out and expand from emission source.

No matter how you turn aside, the F-7 is facing the Gripen, your sideways turn still enters the divergent waves coverage of the F-7 Grifo radar and at 50 km away the F-7 detects the Gripen.

I have shown you scientific sources of the known radar detection in combat, front hemisphere, lower hemisphere, upper hemisphere, rear hemisphere. The ranges are specified, Dis you see anything like range for side hemisphere ? Fool !

"The forward-facing NIIP N011M Bars (Panther) is a powerful integrated passive electronically scanned array radar. The N011M can function in air-to-air and air-to-land/sea mode simultaneously while being tied into a high-precision laser-inertial or GPS navigation system. It is equipped with a modern digital weapons control system as well as anti-jamming features. N011M has a 400 km search range and a maximum 200 km tracking range, and 60 km in the rear hemisphere. The radar can detect ground targets such as tanks at 40–50 km. The Bars radar will be replaced by Zhuk-AESA in all Su-30MKI aircraft."

No matter how you turn aside, the F-7 is facing the Gripen, your sideways turn still enters the divergent waves coverage of the F-7 Grifo radar and at 50 km away the F-7 detects the Gripen.

Stop adding the non-existent side hemisphere as radar has become an FLIR.

You live in a psycho world of imaginary day dreams different from how air combat and jets operate

Abeg am done with this foolish argument.

I sh.ot down your Gripen, you were b.uried, you want to open coffin and come out, abeg go back to your g.rave, stop wasting my time grin grin

Radar power is just waves, it travels sideways, the waves are divergent NOT convergent.

There is no way in this world that two aircraft coming from opposite directions will not meet before one can get behind or beside the other.

Simple common sense you don't have, now put two stones on opposite ends of a straight line, start moving them close to each other, at a point they must meet before one goes off the straight line to the back of the other.

50 km range of F-7 radar waves are divergent, not convergent, it will see the Gripen even if you turn sideways at 50 km away.

Side by side ? At 50 km away the F-7 knows the Gripen is coming ahead, if you turn to the side, he too will turn to that side, he is a combat pilot NOT a fisherman like MR.Day in South African sea waters.

I am tired of talking with a man who does not know that waves diverge from a point as they emit outwards, you are a pure breed domingo

At 120km Gripen can start maneuvers to shorten your F-7's detection range

Your F-7's radar points forwards not sidways and backwards.

Gripen drops low and uses radar clutter to lesson the chance of detection

The first time your pilot realizes there is even a Gripen there is when an A-darter turns him into pink mist

The range of the radar against 3m² targets is over 100km in the forward hemisphere and 40km in the rear hemisphere. The radar has the capacity to search, detect and track up to ten targets with automatic threat assessment and prioritisation."

As I said, it is almost impossible for Gripen at 120 km away to be behind the F-7, when the Gripen and F-7 are coming face to face from two opposite directions of each person's war zone frontline, except you are stupiid enough to think South Africa built it's air force base inside Nigerian territory so your jets take off from behind NAF air base and approach F-7 from behind.

Foolish daydreamer grin grin

The Gripen will detect the F-7 from 120km out - it will be ready long before the F-7 even knows there are other Jets around.

The Gripen will start evasive maneuvers as soon as it detects missile launch from the F-7 - turning away from it and deploying Chaff and EW to jam it.
At 120 km away, the Gripen 20 km missile is TOTALLY useless.

At 50 km away, F-7 detects the Gripen, if the Gripen has managed (Hard to do, both jets are coming face to face from opposite front lines, unless the SAAF base is stupiidly imagined to be built inside Nigerian land) to it's back to approach from behind, the F-7 simply banks, simply turns and becomes face to face with the Gripen in few seconds.....the simplest aircraft maneuver in the world I could say

You are just posting crap, you know NOTHING about air to air dogfight. Go sit down men !

You guys are not even ashamed, 5 Southies Vs 1 Naija....are you so dull you need 5 Soweto heads to challenge 1 Lagos head ?

One battalion of an army of over 200 000?
SADF had only 4,000 soldiers on Angolan battlefront. South Africa did not and does NOT have any 200,000 man army from 1970s till today, or you making Xerox photo-copies of human being ?
