Yes, you can. If you connect with me on Facebook, inbox me. The details I need are her Pearson Vue login details and the board of nursing she applied to.

Hi all. My wife just had her nclex exam in India. The computer closed at 86 questions after 2+ hours. She said it was a bit tough. Please wish us best.
It is well with her. NCLEX-RN is tough but people pass it. There were about 16 avant candidates that took the exam today in New Delhi. I have already done the Pearson Vue trick for one of them and she was successful.

If the US is your most preferred destination, by all means, go for it. A lot can change with you having NCLEX-RN.
You might be attractive to other recruiters. No be only avant dey market.
AjaoSandra:
I actually want to apply for the CES, prep for the exam, write the NCLEX n all solely, but I am faced constantly with the fear of not having that 2yrs experience in a 100 bedded tertiary level hospital, might turn out to be a problem on the long run, Need your advice on this really considering the level of your accomplishment so far.

On this journey, patience is a virtue. if you are impatient, the waka go tey because you will be taking some wrong steps.
To be clear, it took 8 months from the time I applied to Avant to when I got my visa. I passed CGFNS in 2007 and got my initial visascreen certificate in 2008. Then came visa retrogression. I renewed my visascreen certificate in 2015 after it expired in 2013.
If you add these up, you will find that it is definitely more than 8 months. The good news is that it's much shorter now. I estimate 18 months to 2 years.
You can complete CGFNS evaluation in less than 4 months, depending on how you coordinate with the relevant bodies in Nigeria like your school of nursing and nursing council.
AjaoSandra:
....The USA is cool likewise, but I do not have my 2+ years experience in a 100+ bedded hospital so I felt may be if I apply for my CES, write my Nclex and pass solely just may be Avant would consider me ,and help with getting an employment offer, but then again auschris said it took him like 8months to have that done, n errr... Cgfns evaluation taking about 1yr I really don't plan spending that long in Naija, I don tire for here Walai grin....

Thanks for your help sir, but some states requires IELTS AND SSN which I don't have. That's one of the reasons I chose Texas initially.

Or do you mean I can register with TBON and take the exam anywhere in the US?
That's exactly what I meant

She will take Nclex in a few days in India. But she has CGFNS and Visa screen. So please can you advise the timeline between the ETA form 9098 that she signed being approved and I-140 petition
I wish her success in her exam. What agency is she with?
I don't know the exact timeline. I believe it is at the discretion of the sponsor. With Avant, it should not be more than 2 weeks. In my case, my ETA form got back to them on 10/8/15 and the filed the I-140 2 days later. I don't know what the current practice is

hi..my wife has been assigned an attorney and she gave us a form to sign...i attached the heading of the document. Please can you help me explain what follows next after signing and sending it back to them? Thanks.

The next step is for them to file her I-140 petition with USCIS. Filing the petition signifies the official commencement of the immigration process. By the way, has your wife passed NCLEX-RN or CGFNS?

I will be doing to new York soon. So am thinking of getting a place close by to write it rather than traveling that far to Texas.
You can take the exam anywhere in the US and about 8 other locations outside the US. My initial registration is with the state of Connecticut but I sat for the exam in Florida. I've never been to Connecticut. I currently practice in Maine

Pls help a sister. Did you write NCLEX there, and did you applied from here or you did when you get to America?? And what are the major requirements for registration?

I have a valid B1B2 Visa which will enable me travel to write the exam. and am considering changing from BON Texas to Massachusetts... Pls what will your advice be? Am in urgent need of help cos CGFNs asked me to resend my form so I want to change the address where they'll send the findings to. Kindly help me out Biko.

OGP's contract is for 4160 hours (2 years) while Avant's contract is for 6240 hours. With OGP, you will have to work for at least 40 hours a week to complete the contract in 2 years. Any hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a week does not count towards the contract hours but you will get the applicable pay. Chances of completing the contract in less than 2 years is almost impossible.
Avant's contract is in two parts. The first part is 4160 hours and the second part is 2080 hours. On completion of the first part, you have to option to convert to a full time staff of the hospital where you are assigned. On conversion, the second part of the contract does not come into being. However, if you do not convert, Avant will assign you to another facility to complete the 2080 hours.
Being a full-time staff of the hospital makes you eligible for benefits like better health insurance coverage for you and your family, better pay, better time-offs, better retirement plans etc.
The best part of the Avant contract is that all hours worked count towards the the contract hours. For example, I completed 2080 hours in less than ten months. By the grace of God, I'll complete 4160 hours in less than 2 years.
Finally, with Avant, you do not pay anything towards your NCLEX-RN review program. Avant also has a unique transition program that prepares you to adapt quickly to life in the US.
[quote author=ogwashiukwu post=56001822]

@ pameltariro, It all depends on you as regards to which of the agents you would want to work with. Yes, she paid $200 for her Kaplan NCLEX review classes which has been going on smoothly. OGP contract is for 2 years while Avant is 3 years.

I hope this helps.

Writing the CGFNS exam is not compulsory but you must go through CGFNS for credentials evaluation. Refer to the initial posts by the creator of this thread for information on how CGFNS is involved

OGP has been in the business of recruiting international nurses to the US for longer than most of the agencies around now (including avant). Their "shakara" too much before. They only interested in recruiting nurses from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and South Africa. Most Nigerian nurses in the early to mid 2000 migrated through agencies like White Glove Care and Kforce.
With the onset of visa retrogression around 2006, most agencies went out of business or transformed to travel nurse agencies. OGP went into hibernation. WGC and Kforce folded up. Kforce transfered most of their clients to Avant.
Avant started in 2003 and were actively recruiting nurses during the retrogression. They didn't abandon their clients. When the retrogression began to ease off around 2013, there was an influx of international nurses to the US through avant. That is how they became a major player in the business. Others are now trying to catch up.
PassportUSA only started accepting nurses with CGFNS last year. OGP now accepts nurses without CGFNS or NCLEX-RN. I don't know about the English proficiency requirements.
Avant made it easier for nurses without CGFNS, NCLEX-RN, or IELTS to be signed up. Others are just playing catch up to get a share of the market. Every fortnight, an average of 20 nurses and physical therapists come into the US to start the avant transition program before they are deployed to their states of assignment.
Avant has a comprehensive program that prepares one for life in the US and to quickly adapt to the the healthcare system in the US.

barbiee:
what do you mean by "seasoned" and is it true that OGP requires English?
