OGP's contract is for 4160 hours (2 years) while Avant's contract is for 6240 hours. With OGP, you will have to work for at least 40 hours a week to complete the contract in 2 years. Any hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a week does not count towards the contract hours but you will get the applicable pay. Chances of completing the contract in less than 2 years is almost impossible. Avant's contract is in two parts. The first part is 4160 hours and the second part is 2080 hours. On completion of the first part, you have to option to convert to a full time staff of the hospital where you are assigned. On conversion, the second part of the contract does not come into being. However, if you do not convert, Avant will assign you to another facility to complete the 2080 hours. Being a full-time staff of the hospital makes you eligible for benefits like better health insurance coverage for you and your family, better pay, better time-offs, better retirement plans etc. The best part of the Avant contract is that all hours worked count towards the the contract hours. For example, I completed 2080 hours in less than ten months. By the grace of God, I'll complete 4160 hours in less than 2 years. Finally, with Avant, you do not pay anything towards your NCLEX-RN review program. Avant also has a unique transition program that prepares you to adapt quickly to life in the US. [quote author=ogwashiukwu post=56001822]@ pameltariro, It all depends on you as regards to which of the agents you would want to work with. Yes, she paid $200 for her Kaplan NCLEX review classes which has been going on smoothly. OGP contract is for 2 years while Avant is 3 years. I hope this helps. [/quote |
You are right desy24444: |
Writing the CGFNS exam is not compulsory but you must go through CGFNS for credentials evaluation. Refer to the initial posts by the creator of this thread for information on how CGFNS is involved Demrich: |

OGP has been in the business of recruiting international nurses to the US for longer than most of the agencies around now (including avant). Their "shakara" too much before. They only interested in recruiting nurses from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and South Africa. Most Nigerian nurses in the early to mid 2000 migrated through agencies like White Glove Care and Kforce. With the onset of visa retrogression around 2006, most agencies went out of business or transformed to travel nurse agencies. OGP went into hibernation. WGC and Kforce folded up. Kforce transfered most of their clients to Avant. Avant started in 2003 and were actively recruiting nurses during the retrogression. They didn't abandon their clients. When the retrogression began to ease off around 2013, there was an influx of international nurses to the US through avant. That is how they became a major player in the business. Others are now trying to catch up. PassportUSA only started accepting nurses with CGFNS last year. OGP now accepts nurses without CGFNS or NCLEX-RN. I don't know about the English proficiency requirements. Avant made it easier for nurses without CGFNS, NCLEX-RN, or IELTS to be signed up. Others are just playing catch up to get a share of the market. Every fortnight, an average of 20 nurses and physical therapists come into the US to start the avant transition program before they are deployed to their states of assignment. Avant has a comprehensive program that prepares one for life in the US and to quickly adapt to the the healthcare system in the US. barbiee: |
What kind of of tutorial? barbiee: |
OGP is a seasoned agency. I had a glimpse of their contract recently. I prefer the avant package because the contract is in hours. waterfas: |
I'm good. You don't the CGFNS certificate to sign up. I suggest you go through their website first and then get back to me with specific questions. Meanwhile, add me on Facebook Olumike7: |

Yes, I am Tunjinodaysoff: |
The advice you will get will depend on your qualifications. However, you must be willing to start small and move up. I'm fortunate that my wife is also a nurse. She had to prepare and take the NCLEX-RN exam on her own Tunjinodaysoff: |

The process from application to visa interview lasted 8 months. Before I signed up with Avant, I already had CGFNS certificate, visascreen certificate and IELTS. I tried to accept your request but couldn't. I don't know what the problem was. santa007: |
Tunjinodaysoff:EB-3. It's an Immigrant visa |
Hello house, I just stumbled on this thread. It's nice to know that such a thread exists. I'd look in from time to time to see what I can contribute. I practice in the US and came in via the sponsorship of Avant Healthcare Professionals. |
Ok |
