I checked about an hour ago, I saw updates for the balanced and equity funds up to March 22. The MMF was static. I'm not sure if the public holidays and the weekend had something to do with it
truthbetold22: My gt money market fund has not been updated with dividends since March 17th till today.
With the drop in their NAV, I'd probably top up and wait for the rebound.
Salarys: The market was closed for the holidays but Zedcrest went down a huge 1.4% yesterday.
I'm wondering why. Anyone has a reasonable explanation?? Because it doesn't add up.
Other fund users (GT, paramount and the likes), any similar experience? I can speak for Afrinvest as my portfolio with them stays dormant on weekends/public holidays.
For what time frame are you referring to? Since I started daily tracking, returns have been accurate and have typically followed the NGX ASI closely. My actual yields between october and february will not indicate true growth because I these were the periods I topped up the most. Nevertheless, my total return on GTEIF is about 34% and GTBF is 22% (from inception to date).
GTFM reported YTD of 34.33% for GTEIF and 24.02% for GTBF as at March 17
Emzedz: Is that 27% interest real or just figures..
i have been in since Oct 2025. It has been going well so far. I wish i went in hard in November when the market experience a dip. Withdrawal was swift (about 24hrs) when I reduced my position in the MMF to buy more into the GTEIF
Emzedz: Anyone on GTB EQUITY INCOME FUNDS.. hw is it going.. hope there are more greens.. n hw is withdrawals too pls.
I believe the GT funds returns is for March 17. The figures for March 18 will probably reflect around 7pm (2pm EST)
Edecyri: GTB equity +1.85% (this gain shocked me) GTB balanced fund -0.19% Zedcrest equity -1.53% Zenith ESG impact fund - waiting for update (I fear for this one seriously, it bleeds daily)
I don’t understand what Zenith is doing. After submitting my request for full redemption on 11th March 2026, I am still waiting for them to action it.
The redemption request form clearly stated that processing should be completed within five working days.
I will wait until Tuesday next week. If nothing happens by then, I will file a formal complaint and copy SEC. The investment continues to lose value daily, and this delay is unacceptable. Waste of time and money.
In my case, I have nothing in the wallet. Whatever figure I see is my portfolio balance
dammiecool: Pls take note of the balance you are checking if its portfolio balance which include ur investment and wallet balance or just ur investment balance. the two fit confuse person.
These are the the returns for the today : ARM Halal Balanced fund +0.78 ARM Aggressive Growth Fund +1.33 Afrinvest Equity Fund +0.94 CS Equity Fund -0.28 Zedcrest +1.68
Hey guys, I just started with Cardinal Stone Equity Fund. I put in 200k and as soon as the funds settled, It dropped to 197,731.51 instantly. What could be the issue?
@Op Going through your thread brought back sweet memories of my road trip through Toronto. I drove alone from Fargo, ND to Bangor, ME over three days. The trip was supposed to be about 30 hours non-stop. I got into Canada 🍁 through the Detroit - Windsor border. Getting through the border was hassle-free (I guess my status as a US citizen worked in my favor). I spent about 4 hours in downtown Toronto and the highlight for me was getting to the top of the CN Tower. TORONTO IS BEAUTIFUUUULLLL. Someday, I will create a thread and share my experience. I still have amazing pictures that I took on the trip. Thank you for taking us with you on your journey.
Borgamaame: Hello Nairaland Fam, hope you are recovering from the 'detty December'. In the spirit of the new year, follow me on a road trip to Toronto, Ontario in Canada.
Itinerary: Columbus, Ohio - Niagara Falls - Toronto - Brampton - Windsor - Detroit (Michigan) - Columbus, Ohio - Penn State.
I happen to be in Ohio for a few days so I plan to take off from Columbus. The plan is to rent a car for three days (some options include Enterprise, Hertz, Alamo, etc). I think I will settle for Alamo. Got a quote for a mid-size SUV for $345 (does not include insurance) as long as I return at the same location and time as I picked up. If I had opted in for 4 days, I would have been charged a weekly amount. But since it is less than four, I was charged a daily rate which when you add taxes and some other charges adds up to $345. Gas (fuel): The car's tank will be full on pick up and I'm expected to return it full (except I pay about $54 or so...or a little more or less) and I will not have to worry about returning a full tank. Well, I opted in for returning a full tank. Insurance: To avoid stories that touch the heart, I will use a rental car insurance company I found online to cover my trip. I will use Bonzah and I got a quote for about $37.
When I decided to embark on this trip, the first thing I did was to map out an itinerary (not necessarily all that will take place in Canada but how to get there by road). I used Google and found several US states that border different parts of Canada. For those in Detroit, Michigan and environs, you can get in through Windsor, Ontario. Those in New York and environs can get in through Buffalo, NY (through the Peace bridge). I think one of the states in New England (comprises Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, etc) borders Montreal, Quebec. Since Pennsylvania is somewhat closer to New York and I was in Ohio at the time, I decided to enter Canada through Buffalo, New York. The plan was to get to Niagara Falls in Ontario first before moving to Toronto. Google said the drive from John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) where I pick up my rental car to Niagara Falls in Ontario is approximately 5hrs 24m (352 miles). Kindly note that Ontario is a province while Toronto is a city. Then, from Niagara Falls to my Hotel in Toronto (Days Inn by Wyndham) is approximately 1hr 35 m (141km). U.S uses miles whereas Canada uses kilometers.
Immigration and Border: As long as you are not a U.S passport holder, you require a visa to enter Canada. When I applied, the turn around time was pretty decent. Thankfully, they no longer require covid-19 testing and quarantine as they did during the peak of the covid-19 pandemic. So, less worries. Let's hit the road.
Pictures attached were taken at the CMH airport...the car rental section.
Look at his words carefully. He didn't say he is interested in the ladies but he's receiving interest from the ladies. What he does with that interest will determine if he's violating a professional code or not. And yes, I would allow him care for my female loved ones or hire him if I was an employer. I will consider his professional competence and not how females are attracted to him.
sonnie10: Who you allow such an individual care for your female loved ones? Or if you are an employer, would you hire such an individual after seeing such on their social media?
What is unprofessional about stating that one gets attention from members of the opposite gender in the course of discharge of his/her professional duties?
sonnie10: How do you interpret the part that mandates a nurse to hold self as professional at all times? It doesn’t matter if it’s online. With high moral and ethical integrity.
When rules are made, they are left to be interpreted by board and contex comes into play.
dongc: There are many company selling roofing sheets...TOWER,best aluminium, first aluminum, Agen, asaba Aluminum..First express.countless....which state exactly
What are the common step tiles in the market and what would you recommend for buildings in the South East? How does one know the genuine ones? Are made in Nigeria roofing tiles durable?
spyder880: More roofing images, work on the electrical and mechanical piping is also ongoing.........
listowell: What do you mean? You meant CC? If the category isn't exempt from Trump's EO....forget it and forget it till the coast is clear.
Thank you for your efforts but my comment was specifically directed at someone. Besides, my question made no reference to CC or the potential impact of the EO on my friend's case. Thank you.
Duuzsz: It was approved Jan 30th and I don’t know when it was created but I called nvc to get the invoice number and case number in March. However, nvc sent the official letter on 1st of April.
Thank you for your response. A friend has a petition that was approved on May 1st and is awaiting communication from NVC. Based on your timeline, I think he's within the time frame considering the slow pace of activities occasioned by the pandemic. We will be on the lookout for the next 2 weeks
The man in the last pic, NGOBROS, was my former landlord. A very simple, good and humble man, I must say. A christian in words and deeds. I May God continue to bless him.
OFFICIAL336: it is a well-known fact that Nnewi is the city with the largest concentration of millionaires in West Africa. TVC ran a documentary about how they were able to achieve the feat.
My sister, wetin you want make I do na. I no wan keep quiet before speculation go take the position of fact. The essence of this thread is to provide RNs with factual information that will enable them make informed decisions. Hope say una area don dey warm up small small? God bless you.
vickyehi: The boss himself came out to answer this one. Thank you jare. I have numerous friends and colleagues in various stages with westways. I dont just talk because I feel like it. If I am not sure of an information, I do not publicly state it.
For the benefit of those following this thread, what agencies do you recommend and why? Westways may not be a perfect agency, I personally know Nigerian RNs that they have sponsored. Some are my classmates, ex-students and others I have not met in person but have had the privilege of guiding through their process and helping them get settled in the US.
omonaija123: Just be careful of these newer agencies . Westways is a newer company , have you seen anyone actually sponsored by them?
In what capacity do you work with international nurses and who in Avant did you speak with? I moved here to the US through Avant in 2016. I completed my contract in 19 months. I coordinate and mentor a large group of international RNs from Nigeria from across many agencies. I also mentor another group of RNs in Nigeria that have passed their NCLEX and currently on their immigration process. I have first hand knowledge of the issue in question but I reserve my public judgment on that. However, I am very concerned that prospective international RNs are bearing the brunt of the actions of some our compatriots.
omonaija123: I work with international nurses so I know what I’m talking about and have talked to these agencies myself.
And you know this how? You sound very sure of what you are saying but you are very far from the truth.
omonaija123: From what I heard , money is a big issue, the agency would pay the nurse a quarter of what the agency is being paid by the hospital. Also working conditions , as a international nurse they going to put you in where they need nurses the most which may not be the best places. I also heard that sometimes Avant does not treat their international nurses right so that could also be another issue.
Madam, how you dey? I'm so happy for you. Thank God you did not let that issue deter you. God bless you.
barbiee: I'm so grateful for this thread, it was long overdue but before I say anything if you are not abroad yet and want to know how you can immigrate as a nurse then follow the link above to the other thread where you can be guided in this process. With that being said, I will go ahead and share my little experience in diaspora. As some of you may already know I was on route to USA through the cgfns process but had to stop halfway due to situations beyond my control. During my time off I decided to look into the UK which turned out to be a good idea because few months after I started the process I landed here. I highly recommend this route if you are tired of waiting in Nigeria, you can go to the uk and work while you pursue your American, Canadian or Australian dream. The last time I checked there is a big difference between 10 pounds and 10 naira.
1. I had no issues with immigration, Nursing is on the shortage occupation list so it was easy. my visa was granted within 15 working days without having a visa interview. my employer paid for my visa and flights.
2. I landed in Manchester UK in April and what hit me first was not the fancy airport or buildings, nah it was the cold. My teeth were clattering and I was trying so hard not to appear shaky. it was supposed to be spring but it didnt feel like spring to me though. The cold was real but what was more real was the wind. Everyone kept saying I'm lucky i arrived this period because it was warm and I was like well maybe its warm to you but definitely not to me.
3,4. Working here is different from how we do it back home in Nigeria, we have to explain everything to the patient and get consent before carrying out any procedure. Handwashing nkor? I now carry hand lotion in my pocket because of it, another culture shock is addressing my boss with his or her name. No more sir or ma, they dont even like it when you say mr or mrs in front of their name, secondly I only noticed this when I got here, Nigerians say the word sorry a lot even when it's not necessary and up till today I'm still guilty of this. When someone gets hurt the first thing that comes out of my mouth is sorry and he/she will be like oh it's not your fault thirdly, there is no doctor yelling at you here because that is verbal abuse, everyone does what they are expected to do and not pass their job to someone else. Lastly, you are accountable for all your decisions and actions.
5. Work, make money, further education, travel etc
6. To all Aspiring Nurses, make hay while the sun shines, NMC uk has made the process of immigrating to uk easier and faster, do not waste your opportunities, stop wishing and start acting on those dreams. There is no better time to start this process than now. Ps. I'm still going to pursue my usa registration but until that time comes, let me jejely enjoy my pounds. More stories and pictures coming soon.
