My dear TRV by faith receivers, I did online application submission on September 12, biometrics collection letter came on the 13 September. Biometrics was done successfully on the 21 September. I just checked now and my medical results was updated as passed.

I feel so positive about my application and believe I will soon be called for PPR. So let's not be weary in this wait, God is working in our favour.

I applied for study permit online, below are the stages/steps I went through.

Applied: june 16
Biometric: June 25
Eligibility review started: august 8
Medical request: Sept 25
Medical done: sept 27
Medical passed: Oct 1st
Passport request : Oct 2
Passport submitted: Oct 5
Correspondence letter: Oct 9.

Already deferred my admission to winter. M.sc McGill university.


1. I was scared because I used my phone to scan most of my documents and some documents are not clear enough.
2. I didn't put my payslip ( only Id card and employment letter).
3. My application was processed in Lagos office.


Anyone heading to Montreal by December let's hook up.

@Everyone, I'm kinda scared, I submitted an online application for visa and here is my time line:

Purpose of visit: Study Permit- PhD in Engineering.
Date Submitted: 4th Sept, I did an upfront Medicals.
Biometrics: 5th Sept
Biometrics done and updated: 6th Sept.
Medicals Passed: 14th Sept.
Passport Request: 11th Oct.

I'm scared because when I go through what many people say here regarding online submission - how much time take it takes, tbh, I was expecting my PPR in December and that's why I want to know the meaning of this PPR.

Lastly, when I checked my profile it's still on background check and they've not updated it. Please I'm kinda confused.

I received this letter from my prospective school yesterday in response to my letter that I have missed my resumption again because CIC has not processed me. I also wrote a member of parliament and received a response from his secretary that she will forward my letter to him.

Dear house, I finally received a response from CIC. However, I was delayed and will soon go about reapplying.

This application was my first and I believe it was well packaged as I am an avid reader of the thread and I also used a top immigration lawyer based in Canada and I have an unblemished travel history.

Submitted online on 1st of June. Biometrics was done on the 7th. I sent several CSE's and got a denial yesterday. I applied for a course in a trade as I recently started a business in that trade and needed further education to boost and improve my business. The trade isn't taught in the Universities which is why I had to apply to a college.

Deny was adduced to purpose of study but will be applying for my gcms shortly to get a specific reason. Contributions will be welcome to get this sorted.

Also thinking of a judicial review but yet to decide on if this will be a better option. Opinions are welcome and I look forward to being successful in a trade that I believe will enhance me personally and my society at large.

What I noticed was that your eligibility review started and went back to a background check
The two guys that experience this got a refusal bullshit(you and @mightyola). Does this mean when your visa cross to eligibility review, chances of approval is high? Gurus in the house, what do you think about this? And why would eligibility review reverse back to the background check? Dem miss road at first? Cause when both of they complained initially I was thinking it was an internet glitch (honestly these VOs are making this visa thing completely unpredictable)

Second mail. When I sent the first mail, I got the normal geneneric response and got a medical request the same day they responded.

Second mail was sent yesterday night.

Did you send the mails straight to London or Lagos?

I did not submit another admission letter for Winter. However, I will still have to send it to them because of the POE verifications.

I didn't notify them about the medical again. They updated it as passed demselves. Although, I sent a mail yesterday night informing them that my application has used 16weeks and it's more than the 14 weeks on the site.

Bro, did you submit additional document like another admission letter for the winter term? and I can remember you wanted to notify CIC that you've done your medical, did you eventually send the mail to them?

i recently got admitted to confederation College In Canada for 1 year post graduate course submitted my application on the 27th last month did medical up front . Thing is my sponsor isn’t related to me he’s a family friend. But he has about enough money. I submitted his statement account with about 10 million naira and 2 landed properties also he wrote a personal statement stating he’s my sponsor and I’m his ward and he’s willing to sponsor my stay in Canada and also paid my tuition which is 7948 dollars for the first semester what are my chances. School resumes January 7th he also did an affidavit of support.

Nobody is a VO here

I think it’s possible cause when I did my biometrics. I can vidvily remember i saw a guy with upto 10 passport and letter on each of the passports (I guess Ppr letter), I asked him what he was doing with all those passports

Okay try Brandon, Regina, UPEI, Umanitoba. Check their official website and go straight to international student to get their requirements. Mind you, never you declare you abandoned your oau msc to the VO. that one be say you done shook your hand for lion eye only if you have a concrete and solid reason to tell them. Nobody can guarantee you visa approval in nairaland. Just do the needful, submit airtight application and talk to your God

Those folks that have gotten their TRV, my advice to y’all is to book your flight now cause December and January air ticket price will be outrageous.
The cheapest I’ve seen so far is Egyptair US$560 but am pretty sure e go get belle from late November.

Get a police clearance from the country you in at the moment (very important) as a diaspora

Please for the student permit, Is a Police record needed? If yes, is it to be attached to the online application?
Also, regarding the medicals, is it also to be attached to the online application forms?

Police clearance is needed and it should be attached in your application
And for the medical, if you go for the upfront medical, they will give you a slip showing you’ve done your medical. So the slip should be attached with your application. If you didn’t do upfront medical after applying for your visa, you’ve got to wait for medical letter to drop.

Nah you bring the idea of ministry of education and foreign affairs so go ahead and do it, don’t forget to authenticate your statement of account and recommendation letter at ministry of finance and again take your affidavit of support to the chief judge of Nigeria to authenticate it. Am pretty sure this your question can be answered by you ONLY.
Stop complicating yourself and do the normal process we are doing.

If you are getting automatic reply from CIC please continue sending mails until you get a resourceful response from them.
