Yeah Egyptian air is cheap, saw one around December 17th for 256k or so, route is through Lagos to Cairo then Toronto. Saw klm for about $512 about 186k route is through Lagos to Paris to Toronto. Date for this flight is Dec 5th.
My issue is, since school will resume Jan 7,2019, and visa started counting since October 11,2018 will it be too early to travel first week of December? I mean with the whole POE ish... I hear people say here it's not good to travel too early.
Bro KLM will never fly to Canada with that low amount ($512)
Please check again

Guys please l have never booked a flight overseas before, so finding it difficult. For those who traveled from Lagos to Toronto, please how did you guys get a cheap flight that didn't require a transit visa? I'm looking up flights in December, and don't know what I am to look for.
Good morning everybody
To book your flight you can make use of the following travel company for a stress-free
Kayak
Flap/travelstart
Wakanow
Skyscanner
Expedia
The cheapest flight I've seen so far from LOS to YTO (Lagos to Toronto) is Egyptair (Expedia)

Moreover, you can book your flight directly with the airline company (emirate, Lufthansa, United airline etc) through there official website, I think booking with the airline company is cheaper.

The best time to book a flight is NOW (if you're traveling December or January) 1 or 2 months ahead of your travel.
cause booking flight from November ending to January, will be very very expensive

Good evening guys,
So I’m new here and I’ve been following the thread.
I applied for my study permit on the 7th of September(paper application) and I just tracked my application and it says my processed passport is ready for collection on 15/10/2018.
I really do not even Know what to expect because it seems like it came really fast. I’m nervous. Pls has anyone who applied in September gotten a feedback yet?
(It's 50/50 Chances)
Did you do upfront medical?

Yes oh... I just picked it up now. You wouldn't believe that application was handled by Nairobi. I still can't believe that they approved my visa, this is just God's favor. The people are even so stingy with pgwp time. Infact visa started counting from October 11th day of approval and end Nov 30 next year. But I ma shine in canny, the time ain't a thing.
For September and October applicants, it appears that them Nairobi angels are handling your applications just pray for God's favor in the sight of the VO.

Frankrobbn, you're in my prayers.
I think I will send a cse to Lagos cause I am yet to get introduction letter.
You're unstoppable

Guys please I just tracked my application now on vfs website after submitting passport on 16/10/2018 which was on Tuesday. Now I'm seeing your processed passport is ready for collection on 18/10/2018 which is today. But I'm yet to receive an email from vfs confirming this, I was wondering if I can just go pick it up tomorrow.

Do I have to get an email or tracking information is ok?

For some the question might sound stupid, but please I'm asking cause I'm still moving around with crutches due to post op recovery after surgery, and wouldn't want to go through pains, and still waste cab fare going there tomorrow for nothing.
Every good thing bout you is pretty fast
I want your grace.

Dear Jeremy - I spoke to IRCC regarding your study permit application. Standard processing time is 14 weeks. This means 80% of routine applications are completed within that time frame, while 20% can take longer or like yours, a lot longer.

The file is actively in progress. Biometrics have been received, medical passed and the support letter received from your university has been added to the application. Sorry, we do not have the authority to appeal to IRCC to expedite your application. Hope this information is helpful.

Sincerely,
Hon. Ralph Goodale

Hello Guys
Please I would appreciate everyone's advice on my current situation.
I got my admission letter to the University of Windsor for Masters program (winter 2019) around August and I already paid $6000 to book a place in the program.
I have been having issues with finding a cosponsor since my dad's account currently holds 3million naira balance. I finally got a sponsorship letter from a king who has a close ties with the Canadian deputy high commission himself.
Guys, do you think I go ahead and submit my application or defer my admission ?
You can go ahead and use him, since he ’ll be your co-sponsors.
Mind you, cic is not like Nigeria university admission (my uncle is a professor in the school, my daddy elder brother first son is the registrar of the school) it doesn't work like that with CIC.
All the best in your visa journey.

Questions to ask yourself (would your king give you his statement of account and letter of recommendation? Cause forget royalty... If your king write letter to the embassy instead of doing the necessity OYO IS YOUR CASE.

Bless up

And who told you I was comparing applicants? I resemble VO? the point I was trying to make was that sometimes this VOs want applicants to be truthful with their applications, u dont necessarily need to show 30billlion naira account balance, cos we all know peeps with fat account balance have been refused several times here. For the guy with 1k to have gotten Visa doesnt mean someone else that applies with a balance of 1k will also get visa. People are different. The guy with 1k was just divinely favoured and its shows the said person is destined to go to Canada despite the 1k balance. The bitter truth is that not everybody here is destined to go to Canada even if they put down 100billion Account balance. So Oga I wasnt comparing anybody, if u had carefully read ma post, u would not have seen anything comparison there. Someone that got a tuition waiver + GA/RA position has no headache proving too much about finance, while on the other hand a potential self sponsoring student will be completely stupid and maybe psychologically unstable to apply with a N1,000 account balance (with no other proof of fund). The question that brought about this unnecessary debate came from a prospective student was hoping to self sponsor himself.

No two visa applicant have identical profiles. Let's please stop comparing applicants.
Is it possible for CIC to refuse someone with full tuition waiver plus TA/RA/GA?
Have you come across such in the thread before?
Just asking

I think you are right because someone that works in one of the banks head quarters once told me that CIC use to confirm from them the authenticity of statements submitted for visa applications by confirming certain transactions in the statements. Also, there was a time around last year when CIC used to request for updated statements from applicants during the process of treating the applicants applications and also requested for letters from the banks stating the fund inside the applicants' accounts would be allowed to be exported to Canada as at when needed (I think due to some CBN regulations then). I am not sure if it was in part 11 or 12 of this thread.

All I am trying to say is there wouldn't have been reasons asking for updated statements if CIC could actually check balances on accounts. Please, this is just my own opinion on this matter. People should just do their best to be truthful and straight forward in their applications. God will help us and His will shall be done concerning all applications. Cheers!

Let me describe a scenario to you....

A friend applied with 16M bank balance(Real money, not lump sum).... Got Reject

Reapplied 40days later but at the bank he tried to print statement, he needed to transfer fund to someone, so he was told to just go ahead and use it like that, He had just 300k as account balance ......... He got the Visa in 12 days.

Let me explain again, The reason for the denial in the first stage was Insufficient FUNd!!!. it took 60 days and was rejected.

I have a conclusion, If you have 1 naira and you feel comfortable with submitting ur application, Please go ahead.

You just need to baffle them, amd you get your Visa, alot of people are Just trying to Impress this V.O with their application.

There was a testimony i read somewhere, i cant remember the episode,....

Dad's bank balance...200M
Mom......................30M
Domiciliary account of Daddy.....$20k
Brother.........................14M
Her own savings..........13M

Visa..................Rejected.

If you listen to people that are Rejected for Visa application sometimes, You will even lose hope.
Be yourself, apply as you are.
We ain't talking about making sure to submit big money.
You can submit any amount you have in your account even if Nah 1000k if God wants it to scale through, it will definitely scale through.
I think someone have shared a testimony of 700k that got approval in this group before.

Sometimes VOs don't need bulky documents base on what I've been seeing in this group

The embassy uses psychology to do the lump sum issue. They know that from experience people who put a lump sum in the account do so for visa purpose.
So I agree with you.
BUT WE NEED NOT LABOUR OURSELVES ON THIS ISSUE. I BELIEVE NOBODY HERE IS USING OR PLANNING TO FORGE A STATEMENT. SO WORRY NOT.
Am saying when lump money leaves the account during visa processing not when the money is already in the account.

This issue is very important so that some people will be aware of it.

That's is why it's not advisable to submit a dormant account statement. The account must be running in and out

Oga, I am giving my info as head office staff from where accounts are getting confirmed. I wouldn't know the scenario of your brother and so I might not be able to comment on that.
As I said, I am 99.9% sure and nothing can change it. I can vividly remember my account officer told me about all these.
They pick random transactions in the statement of account to verify the authenticity including the balance.
And mind you, VO’s ain't in charge of this task, there are various departments in cic that does this. The bank verification is not just a day, they do it for more than 3 days randomly (not straight days). Those people get time oooo!
If you get to work on Monday, ask your colleagues.

No argument brother

Hmmm, I am a banker and I will tell u something about how your account is handled. No one has the right to get your account details (balance inclusive) except by court instruction. Although the statement submitted can be verified if it was issued by the bank, CIC does not have the right to get your account balance at any point in time without a court instruction.
No no no that's not true, so how do they detect when a lump of money leaves the account after submitting an application?
Visa officers work directly with the head bank not branch. (Germany does the same cause it happens to one of my bro in Deutschland, they had to call him to explain why it happened) I am 99.9% sure

Hi everyone,
CIC just denied my application this morning. These are their reasons below:

Thank you for your interest in studying in Canada. After careful review of your study permit
application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet
the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and
Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of
residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can
demonstrate that your situation meets the requirements. All new applications must be
accompanied by a new processing fee.

I am just thankful that i really didn't have to wait too long and at the end of the day, they will still deny.
I submitted an online application September 19 and did bio metrics like a week after, then today i got the news.... In all, I am grateful to God.

I don't think i will be reapplying anytime soon as i am a already in my 3rd year (undergraduate). and i am married. I think i'll just wait, finish my studies here and try to work something else out later in the future.
Thank you all.
Sorry for the refusal

If my application was disserted here, truth is I would be told not a tight application . But I did my best based on what little I had available and relied on God to perfect everything, and I strongly believed... Thank you Jesus. I wouldn't lie I didn't fast and pray, but I prayed fervently.
