Hello everyone, I’ve noticed the amount of people worried about getting interview dates and I want to share my view. (NOTE: This is just my observation/opinion and you are free to disregard it) 1. I think the reason why dates have not been free flowing so far is because the embassy has some personnel issues currently. I say this because, I and a friend had interviews in different weeks in November (cat b) and we noticed that the same V.O interviewed both of us. She’s a Nigerian woman, igbo I think. Also on the day of my interview there were only 2 V.O’s working that morning. If you also recall, a couple of weeks back some people stated that they observed that a couple of V.O’s quit or something. Now, I can’t really say wether that’s true but from what I noticed, it seems like the number of people being interviewed this period are very few, we were only 5 students on the day of my interview. Now, calm down first, even if my observation is correct, this certainly does not mean that nobody will get dates anymore for summer. I’m very sure that the embassy will be actively working on re-staffing and doing everything possible to cater to everyone, so nobody (cat a or b) should be giving up, or loosing sleep over this. Most schools resume march or April and there’s still enough time to process visas before that time. 2. If you are currently waiting for interview date, piece of advice: don’t just wait passively, you have to be active. First, if you’ve gotten admission already, make sure you’re familiarize yourself with your program coordinator or whoever the contact person in your school is. Email them introducing yourself, then also let them know that you have applied for date and importantly, ask them for the possibility of getting an enrollment extension so that in case you get a date late, you can still make it for summer. Also, (pls note that this is only advise, you don’t have to follow it, and I will not be liable for any damages. Lol) if your program starts in February and you have not gotten a date now, and you fall in category B, I will advise you to cancel and reapply for date using a much later date like March ending or even 1st of April. This is to give embassy enough time for all the processing. But make sure you have contacted your school about enrollment extension first o, or apply to another school that resumes in March/April as back up. 3. While you are waiting, start preparing in faith too. Learn small German, familiarize yourself with your coursework etc. I wish everyone good luck. |
Interview Transcript 15/11/2019. Booked on 26th August, AD came on 2 Sept. Got to the embassy around 6:34 am, there were like 4 other people for student visa. I don’t know if it was Mr paulinus that attended to us but the man was very chill, even stayed with each person to direct on how to arrange our documents. Then we were checked in. I was interviewed by a Nigerian lady in room 2, she collected my docs, money etc. it’s just the basic questions that we all already know.. What course and school? Why the course? How is it related to your undergraduate degree? What school did you go to for bsc? Why Germany? Is your program taught in English? Why not Nigeria? Here at first she said she wasn’t convinced with my first point so I added another one and she said ok Why not other English speaking countries? What do you know about Germany economically and geographically? What’s your undergraduate thesis? Plans after the masters? Any questions for me? It seemed like she was in a hurry cause she always moved to the next question before I can even say more than 3points on one question, but it wasn’t a problem tho, I prepared for that and was able to move too without stopping to think. Interview was over in like 10-15 mins. Wishing everyone one waiting for AD speed in getting dates. The wait for AM begins! |
Hello everyone, please for those who have gone for visa interview already, what supporting documents did you take along that you think also helped you to get AM? |
figur:No need to certify, just upload. |
figur:Your chances majorly depends on your cgpa, if you have 3.0/5.0 and above, you’re good to go. Other things like motivation letter and C.V also count depending on the school you’re applying to. Take your time to check daad.de website, type “International Business Management ” and check the requirements for each school that come up. Good luck. |
Hi everyone, please who knows how long a DHL courier envelope is valid for, I got mince since July and I want to know if I can take it for interview in November, or do I have to get another one? |
olaadesie:It’s not needed for admission, just put your other documents and submit. It’s only needed when you want to enroll after you’ve gotten admission |
Odedenshi1:Hey, kindly resend it, my email wasn’t available yesterday |
Modesta24:Hochschule Fresenius in Cologne and SRH Hochschule Berlin. |
Modesta24:Sep 2nd, not up to a week after booking. |
Okay, will do that. Thanks. |
Please when did you book and under what category? Also you need to write a top notch motivation letter and also be able to convince your VO why you are studying a course different from your Bsc because Germans like consecutive studies.[/quote]Thanks, I have written a motivation letter already, just need help making sure it’s top notch like you said. I booked under category B, 28th Aug. with 1st March 2020 as start date. |
Hello everyone, I’m a summer applicant due to no AD from the embassy for this past winter, I already have AD for summer now, for Nov 15. I have a bsc in engineering but I’m planning to study international business for masters. My question is that, I hope there won’t be an issue with getting a visa because I don’t have a business background? Also, small advice for summer applicants, try to search very well and apply to schools with online admission application instead of focusing solely on schools that need uni-assist, so that you can get admission much faster. You should still apply to the schools that need uni-assist too tho, but the earlier you have an admission the earlier you can book for interview. |
kingpaddysfarm:Hi, I’m heading to CBS for international management too. Let’s connect |
