When I first filled the form, I did not upload anything, when they responded they told me what to upload, after I uploaded they gave me the approval authorisation. But to be honest you might not need it because I know someone that came and they did not ask her for it the IRCC authorisation.

@sam4774 Congrats bro. I'm in a similar situation as yourself. I applied for SOWP in June and intend to apply for visitor visa soon. May I ask if you used the new visitor visa portal for your visitor visa application?

For me becos I hv a sibling I uploaded the notorized form (statutory declaration) we used in applying and her pr card.

I collected my wife and my kids stamped passports today. Application was submitted Sept 8th, approval letter was issued November 8th with a grace of 30 days to submit original passport. I rushed to reissued new passports for the four them and by November 23rd Thier passports were submitted to DHL for further processing.
I don't know Canada - Nigeria office have started stamping visa on passport. My two was issued at Nairobi and London but family members own was issued in Abuja.
Best of luck to others on queue awaiting positive decision on Thier application

I agree with you cos I have also observed this too. Older people's gets approved faster than other categories, irrespective of method of application (gckey or new portal).

please i saw this when filling the new visitors visa application. You’ll need to provide proof that you are coming for a non-discretionary purpose. Upload this document in the “Proof of travel exemption” field. Please what does this mean ? is the proof of non discretionary purpose proof of vaccinantion

From my understanding of written authorization, it's possible the reason you're being asked is because you have an unvaccinated member of your family. Maybe your child? Double vaccinated individuals are exempt from the need for authorization.

My understanding might be wrong sha.

Apply using the new visitor route for all of them. Only the 12 and 13 year olds need study permit but I think even with visitor visa, they can get study permit at the POE. Visitor visa through the new route can be treated promptly and then after applying make sure to apply for travel exemption authorization immediately you submit the visitor visa.

Thank you. It is study visa. They are 11 and 9. Na my husband own I dey wait for like this. Luckily,we had already booked for medicals since last month and they are scheduled to go on Nov 29.

God is faithful oh, I just got medical request for my 2 children. I applied for SOWP for my husband and 2 kids. I am yet to get anything for my husband though but I am positive that it is going well. My family applied October 8th and my husband did his Biometrics Oct 12.

This is a good sign for my hubby's application right? Seeing that he is the primary applicant?

Checked my account on 22nd of November eligibility review has started then on 23rd of November they sent me medical requests.NOTE I applied for SOWP and 3 study permit for my kids and i am believing God for my PPR soon

Please if a spouse is based in the US legally and the children are in nigeria but the wife is in canada when the apouse applies for open spouse work permit will they use the processing time for US for the application or it will be nigeria processing time.Please note on the application the US address was used in the application.

spousal open work permit or any work permit applied to Canada from Nigeria takes 29 weeks according to IRCC and can take even more time. visitor visa re-uniting a direct family member that is either a permanent resident or temporary resident (student/worker) decision takes between 14-30 business days.
if you had a visitor visa application before september 7th you will have to reapply and raise a webform.

spousal open work permit is a temporary class resident application and visitor visa is thesame i very much doubt that counts as dual intent if you have both of them running at thesame time. this is my personal opinion i am not a VO, but an application that takes maximum 30 days as opposed to an application that can take up to 8 months or more it is pretty obvious which one is more reasonable.

in canada a sowp can be applied for on arrival or when settled in canada.

the gist of the matter is that if you applied before 7th of september re-apply. if it was after 7th of september and you qualify for this new program (re-uniting with family members in canada) fill the exemption webform and attach all supporting pdf. they will consider it and then prioritise that application that was filed after 7th of september within 14-30 business days

They acknowledged you mail, which means they already have it...

You didn't state the date they acknowledged your mail, that would have made me know how to advise you..

But if the acknowledgement is over a month, I will advise you send them another mail and copy the relevant offices..
