Romance › Re: I Really Don't Know What To Do. Please Help A Sister. by AwealthDRL: 5:15am On Jan 23, 2025 |
Where is this your fiance now @jennyclay Jennyclay: Good afternoon nairalanders and Happy new year to everyone. I promise to be brief.
My fiance and I hv been dating for 2 years. He's doing well for himself, he's humble, he's quick to apologize even when you're at fault. He calls his mom and siblings regularly, but he don't talk to his Dad. If I ask, he would say forget about him
My fiance has been keeping malice with his father for 3 years now. I don't know what transpired between them because he would never tell me. He act like his father doesn't exist.
His mom and I do talk on phone once in a while. Yesterday I called her to wish her happy new year, we spoke well and she prayed for me. Abt 10 mins later she called back, but this time she was crying, She explained how his son has not been talking to his Father, she said this year 2022 would make it 3 years, she said they have called elders and pastors to talk to him but all to no avail. She said It would be her greatest joy if I also help her talk to him since he loves me so much. We were on the phone for over 45min.
Nairalanders, he's coming to seek my hand in marriage by March but I'm scared and here are my reasons. 1) His he pretending to be nice to me 2) what if we have little misunderstanding when we get married will he forgive me or keep malice with me for years
I was so angry at him, I told him that I'm giving him now till month end to reconcile every conflict or dispute he has with his father else I'm calling our relationship a quit, because this character seems to be a redflag to me. He started begging me, he said I don't understand yet he's not telling me anything.
I'm really confused. Please help a sister. |

Crime › Re: Lynched Driver, Temitope Olorunfemi, Buried In Ondo (Photos) by AwealthDRL: 12:40pm On Apr 18, 2023 |
I had an accident a while ago too no one cared to help, lying in my blood almost died people who didn't know me assumed I am GBoy hence I deserved what to happened to me. It was until someone who knows me saw me that I got carried. In this country our leaders are just the reflection of most citizens othermen: ‘Lynched Driver’ ? He is a son, he is a father, he is the husband to another. His statistic is little in being a driver and the motivations behind the mob action is little in him being a driver. It was that he was alleged of being a ritualist or looking better. If he was in a rickety vehicle, his outcome might have varied in spite of the accident that served to introduce him to a tragic end.
That said, about a decade ago, in Unibadan, a student was stripped naked and paraded around the halls. He was involved in theft.
Such was not the norm, however, it was the case then, that a thief will be mobbed and the students leaders or hall elders would endeavor to get the culprit to a secured place so that he can be handed over to Abefele (the school security). Students can as well put a call through to the school security to avoid an utter descent into chaos. The point however is, in a community of reserved minds molding our society character, such events do occur. Again, If such mob actions could occur in an intellectual community, it can occur anywhere else in the country.
Just some weeks ago, A 500 level student was killed in OAU by his fellow students. He was accused of being a petty thief. While the outcome is isolated, the events leading to the outcome is the norm for those alleged or caught in such misconduct.
Is it up to a year, Deborah was killed in another institution of learning- just because she felt a platform created for educational purposes shouldn’t be abused for religious purposes? There was an endorsement of the disaster she was meted by most on the side.
In Adamawa too, a former VC was stripped naked and mobbed in a case of mistaken identity. They thought he was the INEC official that declared a winner in the gubernatorial election. Many on the social media celebrated such mob action and there has been no outright condemnation from the mainstream media that is busy pandering to a movement where mobbing others for their political beliefs or endorsements or affiliations is the order.
Anybody can be a victim of mob action. In all of these cases, fewer people had the courage to intervene. Anybody can be accused and on the basis of allegations, mobbed. Anybody can also be falsely accused and on the basis of such allegations, mobbed.
In my experience of such despicable spectacles, my interventions have been nil. The orientation I was inculcated was such that, if there is a fight, do not intervene- just walk away, because there are those who have lost their lives in an effort to be peacemakers and that the blessing that Christ in his sermon on the mount assured for such peacemakers is perhaps not worth much than being alive in one piece.
So it has been, if there is a public disturbance brewing, just take the other road or street. And so it has been, if a mob action is taking place in my street, I stay indoor. However, that mob action could be on an acquaintance or a relative. And by refusing to invite law enforcement officers or take any reasonable action, I have contributed to the murder of such fellows.
Let us reconsider our orientations. This incident in Akure would not stop another mob action from occurring in Onitsha. But then, if local community leaders are charged with the responsibility for and rewarded for protecting those at the whip of mob actions, there may be a reduction.
We also have to make a spectacle of capital consequences for those that take the law into their hands, even when the victims of such mob actions are culpable. Finally, we have to as responsible citizenry endeavor to take quick actions such as escalating any event to law enforcement where a mob action is likely to occur. During ALUU 4 , such an escalation was done but the police failed to save the day.
Failures of such reputations has to be met with remarkable disapproval and even consequences for officers involved. There was perhaps a police station in proximity to where this action took place. They should also explain what actions they are taking to ensure a re-occurrence do not occur. The Police should be alert to such events. It’s public , and saying that mob actions occurs in a very brief time is just an admission of incompetence. It is such incompetence of the law enforcers and incompetence of the judiciary that mob leaders have used in justifying their actions and the recruiting of the public to participate in murder.
While such remains a deterrent to concrete actions that may be done to allay the prevalence of incidents such as have occurred with Olorunfemi, we must begin to be courageous and lend ourselves to participating in ensuring humanity is restored on occasions of blind rage. |

Romance › Re: Nigerian Men And Women Are Sexually Frustrated And Lonely In America And Canada by AwealthDRL: 5:49pm On Jan 08, 2023 |
No worry I go prepare plenty love portion when I dey come plus I'm a good looking African Man no worry about sex haha Ednut03: Yeah. There are Nigerian Men in America who has not had a decent chance at sex for years. The only chance at sex they get is when they visit Naija once in a while. You ain't even getting a white chick to talk to you or give you her number if you ain't ridiculously good looking, dress well and speak really high.
Same apply to a woman and it's even worse. Men are thirsty, unlike Women, and she might get sexed and few attentions until the sex lasts. But she's not going to get any commitment if she doesn't match the beauty standard. So, she will be lonely too. Nigerian Men are still better positioned than her. And her woes even worsen if she's above 30. They rarely get white men. No they don't, because Nigerian women also fall short of the look And beauty standard
And if you're in dating app as an average black man (you're bleeped if you're ugly), you'll, 90% of the time be swept left over.
Hence, many Nigerian guys are frustrated and won't talk about it
Don't believe the stupid lies we peddle on here about white woman loving black for our dick game. It's a lie. If you ain't 100% attractive to her, your dick game doesn't matter. You need to be tall too, because their men are really tall. You can't be 5"9 and be expecting any reasonable result scoring a white chic, it ain't happening |

Please when do you finish secondary this your story would give a lot of people under pressure hope Okudi23: Anyone traveling on the 26th?, let's link up. For those waiting for PPR,plz my advice is this: Take a break from here for like a month to get your sanity back. We worry a lot...I guess because a lot wanna japa. What will be,will be. I have been on nairaland since 2010. At a point I was made a moderator, life happened to me..I had to focus on my personal growth. Lost millions to travel agents. I never left, still here every minute viewing as a guest. Maybe my English is not that good now, this is someone most people mistook as a graduate..but am just a secondary school certificate holder. I have always wanted to explore the world, get a better education,I come from a poor home. But I never relented. For someone who has always been taking the first position from primary one to ss3, wanted to be a writer . I believe I wrote one or two unpublished article/novels.. growing up. Name any country,I know it and everything about it. I read extensively. Knowledge is power. I am very good in geography,..it is not even about this,my brain is always eager to learn something new. I lived this life that no one would want to live. I never for one day sent web forms to IRCC, but man! depressed?,I was. Take time out, work out and try to shut out some stuff from your mind. Most people get their PPR and move on,I will not. I never got any help in my visa application from here, but I want everyone to calm down. To the religious one... well you can keep praying, but it doesn't change nothing. Just relax and don't pressure yourself. |
