Iamthoney: I can relate but you gotta make them to understand that it takes 24 hours to pick up the money they send to you....so it is advisable they send it on time so you can go pick it up immediately. Try keystone bank they are faster and it is much easier to pick up cash Alright i will do that, i think i should even open an account with keystone sef |

Music/Radio › 5 Things Nigerian Current And Upcoming Artists Need To Learn From BURNA BOY. by Awesomeking(op): 3:16pm On Mar 15, 2021 |
In my last post, i stressed on the importance of understanding the industry and using its winds to sail your music boat.
Burna boy just became the first Nigerian to win a direct Grammy award, that is a very commendable feat, something that has eluded so many nigerian artists over the years. Here are 5 things other nigerian artists need to learn from burna boy
1. Having a target market: Burna understood that his target market wasn't Nigerians in nigeria, it wasn't even Nigerians in the diaspora, his target market was and has always been foreigners who listen to nigerian music hence his focus on building ties in other african countries after gaining just a little traction in nigeria, one can easily recall his numerous collaborations with south african artists not because he needed them but because he needed his name to be mentioned over there. When that was done, he moved to UK at just the right time to get on the grime train and benefit off of the grime black artists who imbibe african sounds in their projects
2. cutting all unnecessary ties : You cant move forward if you keep pulling yourself backwards with liabilities you call loyal friends and family. Burna boy has been onward and upwards with foreign collaborations or just his personal singles, in order to make sure that when they hear the name "burna boy", they can easily identify it as the name of the main act from Africa.
When was the last time you saw burna boy collab with an average nigerian artist just to foster friendship and gain from each others fanbase ? Its been a while since he did anything of such sort because that sort of connections/ties isn't beneficial towards the target. You need to know that to move forward, you need to do what you didn't do last year, collaborate with who you didn't collab with last year, stop releasing tracks with the same four rappers from abraka.
3. Give your fanbase what they want : Burna boy fanbase isn't really Nigeria. We simply love him because they love him(that's just how powerful the American validation is on the mentality of an average African). He knows quite well how his fanbase perceives africans and he has put a lot of effort into being just that. You cant possibly expect to grow a fanbase and keep them together if you aren't consistent with giving them what they want or atleast even if you change, it must only make a slight difference and the result must be better than what you churned out before, you cant get popular with RnB then move to reggaeton, its not done, you will easily be forgotten.
4.Improve yourself : The burna boy of today isn't the same as burna boy of yesterday, he has put a lot of effort into crafting himself, his brand and his music into just what is required by his target audience, this cant be done overnight, you have to put in work for years to fully achieve that aim. As an artist, you cant stay the same, you cant constantly give the fans the same type of music over and over again and expect attention and listener's, you have to keep improving towards what your fans want at any specific time.
5. Believe in yourself: Burna boy believed in himself from day one, and he had every right to, his music has always been better than that of the average nigeran artist, his lyricism and his tunes were always top notch, proving that he put a lot of effort into every line. With such talent in his pocket, he knew quite well that he was above most artists even before we got to know and he let it fuel him towards greatness You cant be talented and tolerate disrespect especially over issues concerning your talent and work You have to stand your ground and back it up with musical perfection.

Romance › Re: What Do Some Men Find Attractive In Other People's Wives? by Awesomeking: 6:26am On Mar 15, 2021 |
ethicallyright: If your argument is that men shouldn't sleep with other people's wife because it is disgusting to sleep with a woman you know another man is screwing or screwed , then it should correspond with your argument about virginity. If you expect a husband to overcome the disgust of not deflowering his wife then you shouldn't expect something different if a man goes after someone's wife.
It is also hilarious that this question is coming from a Nigerian woman who has advised her female friend at least once in her life Not to put all her eggs in one basket. Even Nigerian mothers encourage infidelity with the words in bold after their daughters have been engaged without a visit from the suitor within a certain period of time. Oh , I guess it's okay for someone's fiancee to sleep with other serious guys but wrong for this same fiancee to do so when she becomes a wife. Wow.
That was by the way.
Men , especially those who want no commitment, admire married women for their beauty, for their kindness and for their bodies. I am not one of them since I love just virgin princesses. wetin con be virgin princesses? So you are only attracted to virgins?.. Are you a virgin? After you date and deflower a virgin, you can still fall in love with another virgin? Which kind life be dis Sef.. Smh |

Family › Re: My Lazy Girlfriend Lacks Ambition And She's Pregnant For Me!!! by Awesomeking: 5:19pm On Mar 14, 2021 |
jondon11: So I met my girl about a year ago during the start of the lockdown. We bonded real quick...she's easy-going, sorta smart, mad sexy and funny. Two months after we started dating, she moved in with me and began shuttling between my place and her sister's.
I work from home and my place is structured such that there's not much to do to maintain it. Although I work from home, I go out now and again for business and during my time out I run most of the errands...my girl ensures that it's only when I'm going out that she gets whatever she needs, from the market or errands around the area mainly cause she's often in a pant and bra watching a movie or just being lazy. She's a good cook but a lot of times I found chow coming late or not at all, and there was always raw food to prepare...sometimes her excuse for not cooking could be she couldn't get one ingredient or the other either because she didn't have cash on her or some other reason...there's mobile money just outside our gate and if she doesn't have the money she can call me to make a transfer but the main issue was laziness. I swept and mopped like 80% of the time, ran errands like 100%, cooked like 20% or the time (starved like 20% or sorted myself out someway), she did dishes 80% of the time and I brought like 100% of the money we lived on.
She is doing her MSc and our relationship started during the lockdown so she wasn't going to school. She was job searching (more like job waiting) so this gave her a lot of idle time which she spent watching Zee World or being on social media. I soon found a way to engage her in the job I do from home, and with the money she had saved in the bank (over 400K), she started work with me. I purchased a laptop for her for this purpose and so she could develop herself in other areas via online courses but she didn't do much work...working like two hours daily, very late at night...I sometimes complained but tried encouraging her as much as possible, especially when she made some success.
I'm sure you'd ask why I stayed in the relationship despite all of this? I was pussy whipped, had no other options given the nature of my work, saw some potential in her ( I know, a stupid thing to say) and thought I was in love (I'm 29 and shouldn't have been that stupid).
Fast forward to December last year, we discovered she was pregnant, a month pregnant. Told her we should keep the child and get married...she suggested we could abort since we weren't quite ready but I said what was a couple more months gonna make a difference?
Since then till now, we've been quarrelling non-stop, one issue after another of which it's mainly me raising the issues. Maybe it's the tension that comes from knowing I might be starting a family with so many unresolved issues. I've raised my concerns and told her she'd need to be more responsible in the relationship if things will work and even though she tells me she knows, I know deep down she doesn't mean it or might not be up to the task of being a married adult. From some of our talk she expects I'd take care of all the financial responsibilities and have suggested a couple of times we get help for chores (we've moved to a bigger space now) but I told her in clear terms that that's not how I imagined my life...having help for chores and the likes, besides, it's just a two-bedroom flat.
I've purchased some of the things we'd be needing for our wedding and we're supposed to do an introduction this coming week but I'm having cold feet and just want to call it off.
I'm bringing this here to know how I can manage this situation...I can be lazy but I'm a really ambitious person so this pushes me but my girl is not just lazy, but unambitious. How do I manage the situation...there's a child involved now and will need to consider the child but at the same time, I can't take on this much stress nor have my ambitions cut short because my partner is lazy.
What can I do??
she is not yet matured, that's true, but with time she will learn, the issues you have told us here are not enough for you to call off the wedding,go ahead with the wedding and set boundaries, let her know that in order for it to work she has to put in effort too you sef you need to calm down, everyone has flaws, this is her own big flaw, set boundaries on major things like laziness and idleness...but things like buying things for her.. it's not a big deal |

chatinent: Amen..to everyone only who knows how to dress in feminine modesty, respect and cover their bodies..that's only when pervs and rapists would learn to look for better jobs.
The guy should be electrocuted without trial. The first and only Rape victim I know personally was raped wearing niqaab and hijab, the rapists tore her big skirt with knife.....it's not about the way the female dresses,it's about the way the man thinks and behaves,I have never seen a rape case that is the woman's fault, please delete this. |

IME1: My dear brother, for almost 1 week now this is what has been keeping me awake at night oh...
These High School Debates of 1955 to about 1957!
They are mind boggling and very enlightening
Internet dey try sha
I won't have ever known these debates existed.
I guess YouTube is trying to push good contents for the world to rather watch, than the junk most elders erroneously think Internet is all about. They show that many things did not start today oh, the prejudices, unity, exchange programmes, superiority, desire to learn, want for a better life, patriotism for a better country, English as a lingua franca, believing you are right whereas you are wrong, and so on...
Meeen how I wish more people especially between the ages of 16 to 28 watch these clips. How I wish I could download from YouTube with the free YouTube data I'm getting, almost 9000mb!
I'm trying as much as I can to compile all the salient points and write about them as a way of reflecting and comparing the position of things almost 70 years ago and the present state of the world. i dont have data, i would have watched too, can i give you my email address? When you write about the points you learnt, maybe you can send the write ups to me. |

Music/Radio › No One Will Listen To Your Music Unless You Do This by Awesomeking(op): 10:12am On Mar 10, 2021 |
No one will listen to your music unless you understand the industry
The music industry of today isn't like the music industry of before, so many things have changed and has made the industry more complex. Back in the days when artists like ice Prince, olamide,, wizkid and davido first tasted fame, the ticket to getting popular was based on these factors
1.how catchy your song is 2.how you look and dress 3.wether or not people have something commendable to say about you which will draw public attention over and over again
But today its everything has changed, people no longer care about your reputation or if you are even talented, its all about social media engagement now, becoming popular on twitter, tiktok and instagram is significantly more lucrative than jumping from studio to show hoping your song will catch on. No one will sign you if you dont atleast acquure a little social media recognition for yourself, no one will help you create a fanbase, you have to create something for the label exec to be attracted to so they can build on it. Watch out for my next post on all platforms to learn how to grow a fanbase as an artist and earn money from it even before you become famous. .
