PoliticsRe: Buhari’s Order: Sowore Asks Osinbajo To Resign by Awoist(m): 5:23pm On May 11, 2022
drlateef:
It’s not about the legality but the morality. It’s legality correct for him to stay but morally wrong. That’s what we are saying. But Oshinbajo has no moral compass. That’s why he is contesting against his benefactor. The electorates will see that he has demonstrated his moral bankruptcy twice now. That’s enough to nail him. Cannot win the primary.
Dear drlateef,
What you are asking for is similar to asking Governors seeking re-election to resign. I hope you know this and keep quiet.
Thanks
PoliticsRe: The Gross Salary Of The Nigerian President Vs Presidential Ticket Fee by Awoist(m): 9:00pm On Apr 21, 2022
Connected1:
We all know that the Annual Salary of the Nigerian President is 28 Million Naira per annum and that the APC Presidential Ticket Form is 100 Million Naira while that of PDP is 50 Million Naira.

Now let's do a fact check; A Tenure is 4 years which is equivalent to 112 Million Naira in a salary view, the APC Presidential Form is 100 Million Naira, now a citizen who purchases this form has 12 Million Naira to gain in 4 years time excluding Campaign Expenses and Celebration Expenses if he eventually wins, for a PDP Aspirant, he has 62 Million Naira to make in 4 years time excluding Campaign Expenses and Celebration Expenses if he eventually wins.

Now let us view it the business way, We all know that an APC Prospective Candidate is in for a bad investment and will certainly run at loss if he purchases the form, while that of PDP still has something tangible to hold on as profit.

Now the only way an APC Platform President can personally enjoy his rulership and think straight forward is if he does some underground deals while that of PDP may decide to look it off, let us not even talk about patriotism because you can't do it on a empty stomach neither is anyone a lover of bad investments. As much as anyone wants to make a better Nigeria as a president so also is that person going there for the salary benefits.

Speaking of No Pain No Gain or Sacrifices it's not about the monetary terms but rather other things that are too numerous to mention which uprightness and truthfulness is inclusive, there are so many hurdles up there in which those qualities would help you overcome, an example is seeing billions and trillions of Nigerian Naira that you would be tempted to take from.

Pegging a form at that price as a professional and ruling body show no intelligence and absence of critical and insightful thinking for the APC, little wonder why Nigeria is in such a mess.

I believe you should now acknowledge the fact that whoever buys the APC Presidential Ticket Form is a corruption man and a prospective bad ruler while that of PDP has slight chances of ruling corruption free.

I am not clamouring for PDP neither am I telling you who to vote, it's just a fact check, everyone has the right to vote who they deem fit and worthy of a particular position.
It's Democracy.

Your opinions are welcomed.
The shenanigans of our leaders must have messed up our brains. An aspirant is not expected to shoulder all these expenses. Getting sponsors for your ambition is legimate.

I really want to be honest... I have been an ardent follower of this thread for a longtime now and I must tell you that I am proud of @bidexiii and others who have made this page a one stop spot for genuine information Military activity. However, it shouldn't be enough that you initiated a fantastic thread like this but you can also do well by sustaining it. It is probably a substance will lack in this society.
@bidexiii should show leadership in his response to others comments in order to keep this wonderful thread going. Allow people to air their opinion irrespective of how biased or ignorant they may sound ... watch out there may be wisdom there even for you at times.
On the comparison of the last administration and the current one, I think we should quit doing that and focus only on the armed forces progress and failures. There is no way sentiment would not set in, we are in a polarized society and politics/leadership made it so, it is better we avoid them and focus on:
1. Educating ourselves (information)
2. Supporting our military (patriotism)
3. Socializing with one another (unity)
4. Satisfying our appetite for military things(entertainment)
I enjoy every comment on this thread including that of @KingAzubuike smiley, @samuelAnyawu, @komekn, @Toju, @Odunayaw, @kabe1,@ugo, etc, I believe you are all great irrespective of my personal biase towards some of your comments atimes. I wish you all greatness in your various fields of endeavour.

Couple of years ago, I was with this AFSF guy, he had just come back from the N.E and he was fighting these bandits in Kaduna, and he told me point blank, these bandits are boko haram, but the government is trying to cover it up, so as not to spread fear .
Is boko haram also afraid of identifying with them?

Body-cam footage of Rayshard Brooks's death in Atlanta: Resistance, a struggle and then a stolen taser
By Dan Calabrese
Published June 14, 2020 at 10:04am

I’m sharing this so you can see for yourself, in as much detail as possible, what happened in Atlanta last night. Let’s be clear about a couple of things right off the bat:

1. This is nothing like George Floyd and Minneapolis.
2. The question of whether deadly force was warranted here is in no way clear – one way or the other. There are a lot of factors to consider. First watch the footage and then we’ll talk.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnRuWcgflaE

The video is condensed down to six minutes, but there’s a very calm interaction between Brooks and the responding officers – including the field sobriety tests – that goes on for 20 minutes. It’s only when the officers attempt to handcuff Brooks that he starts resisting and trying to flee.

The key development within that struggle is when Brooks grabs the taser of one of the officers. Despite their having him outnumbered two-to-one, the officers are completely ineffective attempting to subdue him, and he manages to break free from their grasp and flee.

TRENDING: Herschel Walker on Instagram: What made us the greatest country on Earth is being civilized . . . not this

The deadly shot is fired not into Brooks’s back because he’s fleeing, but when he turns and attempts to fire the taser at one of the officers. And you’ll notice that the officer who fires the gun is not the officer who is being targeted with the taser. This appears to be a shot fired by one officer to protect his colleague.

Brooks is certainly not Floyd. He is clearly intoxicated, and he is clearly resisting. Floyd was well under control for nearly nine minutes, and there was no reason for the officers to continue to keep him in a position on the ground where his breathing was impeded. Brooks is by no means under control, and he’s even stolen one of the officers’ tasers with clear intent to fire it back at the officer.

This is the sort of situation in which officers are trained that lethal force is justified – when the suspect is in possession of a weapon and clearly intends to use the weapon against the officers.

The argument against deadly force here, obviously, is that a taser is not a lethal weapon and a gun is. This goes to the question of whether police should use deadly force to spare a colleague from injury but probably not death. We had a situation in my city last year in which a man charged at officers with a knife, and they shot and killed him. A knife is not a gun, but a knife can kill. A taser almost certainly will not kill.

And yet you can understand, on a certain level, the officer’s instinct to protect his colleague. Brooks is clearly willing to harm the officer in his attempt to escape, and everything from physical force to the taser itself has thus far been ineffective at subduing him. If he gets away, who knows what kind of harm he might do to someone else?

Yet it’s still a fair question: Was it necessary to kill him? None of the officers’ lives was likely in danger, and chances are Brooks would not have gotten far in his intoxicated condition – especially with so many officers in the area. Clearly, a better outcome would have been to pursue him on foot and continue trying to subdue him without lethal force.

Even so, this incident shows just how difficult it can be for police officers to apprehend a suspect if they are not allowed to use lethal force. If suspects know the police cannot, or will not, use lethal force to subdue them, some of them are going to be a lot more bold – and a lot more violent – in their attempts to resist and get away.

I don’t think right and wrong are as clear and obvious here as they were in Minneapolis, and I suspect the quick firing of these officers will be met with a challenge. That brings us to another problem with incidents like this: They are all going to be treated as the same by the media and the protesters, even though they are clearly not all the same. It’s essential to see the details of the incident in order to understand what happened and why, and what might have been done differently.

Judge for yourself, but judge by the facts. They’re right here in front of you.

I think there is a real racism issue here truly. As poorly trained our Nigerian police guys are, a good percentage of them will not even run after the guy, since they have his car n document already.

The only difference now is that people don't go out again so they decided to come and meet them at homes...the real hand to mouth guys are on the street mounting road blocks and begging for food.

I still don't understand why people are saying Awolowo introduced tribalism to Nigerian polity. In the early life of a multi ethnic nation, every tribe is ruled by their own person. So the yorubas should have allowed Zik to rule them or what.
See to me anybody pointing accusing finger here is a tribalist. We are different tribe with different interest so this things are bound to happen. And when Zik betrayed Awolowo, I could have viewed that too as tribalism but no he did what he had to at the time.
This whole tribal arguement and stuff is only a proof that we are not ready to grow.
