@Dis Guy those are the stuffs puff (puff et al)that you should be wary of buying. did you not hear that some guys making local snacks use rats to make meat pie? the types of giant rats you find in the congested neighbourhood in Lagos ![]() |
@tornadoz you got the point men. i am sure most of the African leaders must have been calling the man Mugabe behind close doors and advising him. BBC was shocked that Mbeki and South African leaders of SADC did not condemn the man during their last meeting. His is a lesson that a true African nationalist can dare the west successfully, it pains me the country does not have one of these high paying natural resources to call off their economic strangulation bluff |
i have eaten snake meat (boa) before , the meat is just like fish and it was very sweet. I know people eat crocordile pepper soup in lagos and they say a plate costs up to N1000.00. you can even get a live one in one fish market in Epe waterside |
It is crazy for any man of God to insist that anybody that receives a miracle in his church must remain a member. It means that there is more to that miracle. |
To hell with her has she condemned what has been going on in Guantanamo Bay off Cuba for the past years? "Oloshi" what is paining them is because the man has been too tough for them to handle. I know he is dealing with them because he knows he has no business in New York or London so he does not give a damn about their so called travel ban, he is not like our Nigerian leaders whose first home is Europe or America. |
@Ndipe who are his people asking him to step down? the fact is that no right thinking African in this age will say he is confortable with any sit tight leader in Africa, but let the people concerned take up the gauntlet, not Bush or Blair to tell them to do it or by sponsoring one unpatriotic element that calls himself opposition leader. By the way how many zimbabweans have you met and spoken to about the problems of Mugabe? we are not talking about the few who will demostrate in London or New York to satisfy their unwilling hosts, please. what is happening in Zimbabwe is aking to what is happening in Nigeria, his party is in the majortiy and his renomination in the ruling party's congress sometimes last month should send a clear message to those who think what they hear on BBC, VOA or watch on CNN or BBC, or FOX news and all the other prejudised western press is the gospel truth. above all did you see that their man won the Chairmanship of the UN Committee on Sustainable Development despite the bull-shit the EU were talking about Zimbabwe? all African members stood behind the country; this goes to show that Africa is not happy with the persecution of the man. Nobody is saying he should continue, please |
This thread is for jazz music lovers please. Can somebody tell me where in Lagos i can get original audio cds of old generation jazz artists. i stumbled on some pirated copies from one road side cd seller in Ladipo Mushin, November 2006, but most of the artistes are new to me and their music not as inspiring as say: Bob James, Groover Washington Jr, Eric Gayle, George Benson, Ralph Macdonald, Wiston Mersailes, Earl Klugh, Steve Gahd etc etc. If you are abroad still let me know we can arrange how to go about it purchasing and posting them.and probably cds of the great blues man BB King |
@sojiboy fire on ![]() |
Ikomi:@Ikomi With your post you have made my day with guys with orderly minds like you now i beleive i am not in the wrong place. You have said it all. Nothing more to add. RESPECT ![]() |
@kemjisuper Good thread, good work this type of thread will definitely bring the best out of the graphic buffs.As for me I am a consumate 'mugu' when it comes to graphics . Keep it up though |
@chiogo try Top cat out, you will laugh and roll on the ground with his antics ![]() |
@anusule Its not only about maturity. I actually hate watching Indecency for me its arrant nonesence ![]() |
@Rodent thanks a million i got your point. Respect ![]() |
@Ndipe read my posts well o! before i start receiving unnecessary bashing. i have not said i am defending Mugabe i only gave him as the most recent example of what the west can do to bring down an African leader they don't like. did you listen to BBC radio today? if you don't listen to radio, read their web site and see what Gen Pervez Musharaf's supporters have done in karachi. more than 34 people have been killed and yet the reportage of that incident was just like any other news, no colourisation. olboy you need to listen to bbc radio on a daily basis like i do here to see how that station hates my dear Naija if i have the choice i would have stopped listening to the station, but unfortunately it is the only English station i have access to here ![]() |
thank you i rest my case. case adjourned sine die ![]() |
we are not talking about english helping us or not what i am saying is that having english as our official languge makes us to be in league of speakers of the most widely used language in the whole world. let me tell you Uganda, kenya and tanzania have their regional language they call swahili, they still use English as the official language, we have our Igbo, Hausa Yoruba Efik, Tiv etc etc we can keep all these and use english as the official language. and of what use is a completely new language? have you thought of the logistics like getting teachers to do the teaching? |
why are you suprised? those south africans are just black only in their skins, their thinking has been corrupted by their white lords. imagine a black south african anglican bishop saying he never saw anything bad in the episcopal church in the us appointing a gay as a bishop ![]() |
i do buy some things, but it depends. i was taught a lesson one day i bought an audio CD supposedly Stevie Wonder greatest hits, walahi when i got home played it on my music set it was some sort of funny sounds played by some crooks immitating SW i stopped buying cds in the traffic since that day. before you do make sure the traffic is so jammed that you have enough time to check the goods(particularly edibles) for the expiry date and the tamper proof before you pay i don't trust those guys at all. |
let them stay away, afterall Chinese and Indians have indicated their interests. the ones they have bought of what benefits have they been to their host communities in the Niger Delta? that is why we are having most of the problems in the area today. |
i thought the thread asked for any question and i thought i have asked a reasonable one about UFO (unidentified flying objects) or flying saucers and yet no reply ![]() |
Ndipe: |
i like catoons a lot, i do sit with my children to watch quite a lot of them: like flinstones, tom and jerry, popeye, top cat and so many others i can't remember now. for a person who doesnot like watching movies, after sports, news the other one is catoons ![]() |
Kemjisuper:you got the point its the same mentality that will make someone to invest in an Nokia N series when an ordinary 3310 will do. status symbol ![]() @rodent did you say i could ajust the pixel to a lower one and it will not affect the quality? |
anusule:me impossicant, how can i? i am damn too matured to do that and people with that kind of mind will not stay an hour longer if caught doing that (in my organisation ), and above all self you can never access such sites 'cause they have all been filtered ![]() |
@digig thanks for your post on the thread i actuall y use the old camera 3.1mp for recording some scenes and moments at my location for future memory and for my family back home nothing more. you actually got the point, i bought the 8.1 first because some of my colleagues told me that the higher the pixel the better the camera and the production, and above all you got me i actaully bought the 8.1mp to outshine all my colleagues here.(bush man) the highest every other person has is 7.0mp what a waste ![]() |
Nigerians do not fail to amuse me what is the fuss about Nigeria launching a satelite? we like to link any progressive thing done by the government to not providing electricity, food shelter, blah blah blah. we are doing it now they are complaining if we do not do it they will say see Algeria. see Brazil etc. that our electricity generation is still at this level is not the fault of only the present government and we can not sit down and wait while even less endowed nations pass us bye. if you want food on your table wise up if you do not have anything doing in Lagos, Abuja or any other urban centerer pack your damned bags and go back to your village you father's family land is wasting away go and farm it and stop blaming arguably most progressive regime Nigeria ever had for everything unimaginable under the sun. @dblock and @alabiyemmi thumbs up for your brilliant and patriotic posts on the topic, God bless. |
@omogenaija thanks for your brilliant discovery and sharing it with nairalanders. though i have not tried it, but from few feelers from members who have tried it its thumbs up for you. any further doubt that Nigerians are innovative? ![]() |
any new languge is needless English, our official language is enough it is the 'language of the world' if can not speak English you can not work in the UN. it is the language of sports, all sports stars both male and female all over the world know this that is why they learn to speak it. |
people around the whole wide world will pick Mandela, but as for me o that guy was made by the west and western press. What is the big deal that he went to jail for 20 something years and then became the president? my take on that is that the west rallied round and made him a super-human because he REFUSED TO RETALIATE ALL THE BRUTALITIES THE WHITES METTED ON THE MAJORITY BLACKS OF SOUTH AFRICA during the aparthied regime QED. conversely they, the west and their press have turned Mugabe to a demon simply because he is redistributing lands that have been appropriated by the whites only. |
ever since i joined nairaland, people in my office have kept wondering what has been keeping me glued to my computer to the extent that i don't go for meal break anymore. |
as for me i am relatively new in nairaland, so far i am yet to see some of the things seun is being accused of. for a young man to put together this kind of forum i think he deserves our collective accolades. on a more serious note seun, as a big egbon or uncle i will advise you take some of these criticism and ponder over them, they may help in shaping your interpersonal interactions in the larger society keep the good work going |
