well i have watched quite a few that have what we can call whites, but i strongly beleive those few i have seen are actually Lebanese well, must nollywood force whites to take part in their films to make them acceptable? come off it. most of the so called hollywood films are racist because in many cases blacks are given roles of criminals and some other condemnable roles. leave nollywood alone we started from travelling theatre, we grew to making home videos and insha allah we shall grow to shooting films on celluloid and if possible have those stunts(not very necessary). and to you these jet age generation of Nigerians that only see what happens in their own country as worse than those from hell before i sign off check it out nolywood is very popular all over africa and i heard it is spreading to carebean islands so america and europe can go to hell |
Givenchy for men. but most perfumes are being faked these days particularly the expensive ones i bought the same brand in a UN operated shop in Freeport, Monrovia Liberia late 2004 for almost $60 it was terrible, it was fake because of that experience i fear buying perfumes these days. we have some big names designers in a similar shop here but i fear to buy any of them 'cause of the last experience |
BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, Fox news Radio/TV zamfara etc etc etc ad infinitum have all annouced that i am the last ![]() |

this can not be a true story. it is probably one of those not too funny stories people are forwarding to friends via e-mail. have you read the one on power failure between Clinton and OBJ? |
stranger:there is nothing childish about the topic there are other forum for more serious and educative discussions if you care. much as i am not the pro for nairaland, i can assure you that the place is packed full of both young and old intelligent and very civilized Nigerians and probably friends of naija ![]() |
dblock:heh heh you want their boys to stone me i don't interact with them o |
9ja4eva:my man if there is any other adjective stronger than "better" i will use it. at this present level they are in now, Nigeria is 100 light years ahead in education, infrastructure and civilization etc etc |
stellose:my sis at times it is better to try elsewhere before you know that even though we have problems in Nigeria but at times you will give glory to the almighty God for creating you a Nigerian. I am one of the millions of Nigerians that believe so much in that country i have travelled far and wide in Europe and some parts of West Africa na one adventure too many carry me come here o, its not easy |
my brother if i say i will tell you everything happening here it will take me days, but surfice to say that there is srious problem of lawlessness here. it is a very small Island of about 1million people about 75% of them youths largely uneducated, jobless. they have what they call martial arts gangs here(not that they can fight kung-fu or judo or takwando o) all they do is that some of their crazy politicians sponsor, pay them to forment trouble by fighting on the streets . their main weapons are stones, darts, catapault some bows and arrows, machetes, but thank God they don't have access to guns. at times their sponsors tell them to stone UN and other International NGOs cars. infact they are vandals you need to see how many brand new Prado Jeeps they have broken, its annoying.we live in fear here, by 7.00pm everywhere is quiet. Their are girls are way better behaved than their boys, they don't take part in the fights and even though almost all male here smoke i am yet to see a single girl smoking. they are very small in stature and too short, but some of their girls can be beautiful, but you dare not move a mile close to them their boys may stone you. the only university here is not better that those Jakande schools he built in Lagos in those days . the languages used here are Portuguese, spoken by only old educated people, Tetun spoken by all, and Bahasa Indonesia-spoken by most of the youths. the reasons behind the languages is a long story. jeeez i have to do some work ![]() |
i stopped watching live matches in stadiums because; i was almost killed at this same National stadium Suru Lere when the great Pele came with Flumenese of Brasil to promote TAMA products in Nigeria in the 70s i think, secondly over the years i have found out that you enjoy the game more if you wath a match live on TV 'cause there are a lot of distractions going on in the stadium that may make you to lose very brilliant goals and you know no replay or slow motion, but sha with electronics score boards with video play back that is settled but above all don't you know my name? awoof ![]() |
well quite unfortunately calling me on phone will be damned too expensive for you i dont know what is wrong with them in this small Island at first when i arrived here my wife bought a N1000 Celtel recharge card to call me she stayed only about 3minutes, but later i discovered it is cheaper to use Starcoms. if you insist you want to discuss with me you can write through my e-mail address gabidow@yahoo.co.uk then we can talk better, cheers |
thanks i will given it try ![]() |
@one well! if every contributor has to base his judgment only on what he witnessed then we will not go anywhere and rubbishing the art of keeping records. even at my age i never watched Pele played in his active days i have based my judgment on video recordings of his national and club games. the closest i saw of him was in the late 70/early 80s can't remember) when he came with Flumenese of Brasil to promote TAMA products in Nigeria. a match was organised between the team and Nigeria eleven my brother the 30 minutes or more he played you need to see the skills, but i nearly died that day at the national stadium, i have never seen that kind of crowd in my life. sentiments apart that guy is the real deal check out his stature decades after he left soccer. come to think of it do you know that presidents of countries receive Pele as if he is a head of state, how many presidents have accorded Maradona the same? no way they will not have anything to do with him because he is a bad ambassador to the world's most popular game |
@dblock thanks for your elaborate education about Australia i forgot to mention that by virtue of my present status i don't need a visa to enter the country and like i said i can enter there as many times as i want because Darwin has been designated as a place where we can unwind after working hard for 30 days continuously and even if i have to take one it is no problem i can always get it any time and its free on my official passport. thanks anyway. ![]() |
@SEA good for you man, then go for it, be a man. it is not a new phenomenon, it has been like that even at my age i can not give adequate reasons why we still have that problem. all the same stand your feet on the ground and let your parents and relations know that that's your choice, because they are not going to live with you anyway. my belief is that if you insist they may see reasons and accept her at the end of the day. but Sha o make sure you really study her well so that a situation will not arise later when they will say han han sebi we told you. |
Not in order of preference though, Jide Kosoko, Oga Bello, Said and Fathia Balogun, Ogogo, Mr Latin, this handsome Egba guy that acts English movies too i mean the one with trim beard. quite a lot of them. you know the difference between Yoruba actors/actresses and the others is that they go through the process of training in the tradition of the old generation of theater practitioners like the late Duro Ladipo, Ogunde, Ogunmola etc |
@sea well i have gone through your thread. it is never a sin to marry from another tribe, but the opposition of your family members may not be just because of the difference of tribe alone, the Italian connection scandal is a very big dent on Edo girls' acceptability. ordinarily any Yoruba parent should not feel bad seeing his son marrying an Edo girl because historically most parts of Edo have so many things in common with the Yorubas. by the way have you really investigated that girl properly to be sure she is not an Italian returnee. when i was working somewhere in Lagos some years back they used to bring hundreds of them back from Italy and Spain on a weekly basis and i can assure you almost in all cases 99% of them are from Edo |
is the phenomenon called UFO (unidentified flying objects) real; why is it that almost all the sitings are centred around America and the west? |
so i heard on the BBC o the fact that it is happening in the Great Britians means that these so called election observers should learn a lesson to be watchful of critisizing elections in the 3rd world ![]() |
up coach!!! ![]() |
davidylan:yes as a hobby or passtime ![]() |
@fromuk well i have said my own i don't want to join issues with anybody, you too are free to air your view. before i forget, it is not poverty that took me to East timor o. i am here just as colleagues from more than 20 other countries doing the same job don't be suprised we have colleagues from China, Sweeden, Canada and guess what from the almighty USA to mention a few, so quit trying to make a point by using my location to prove a point. I am serving humanity here o ![]() |
@dblock whats up! since you are in Brisbane can you jist me on some of their immigration policies. i learnt that at the point of entry they will wash the sole of your shoe before you enter particularly if you just arrived from Africa is it true? where i am now (Dili) i have the opportunity of taking a free return flight to Darwin anytime, but i shun it because of the different stories i hear about their immigration policies. can you please educate me. 'cause i am dying of loneliness here, no social life here i am dying for action ![]() |
