Did you do upfront medicals? Or was it requested?

Justobserving1:
Hi my medicals was passed in October 25th, yesterday they started reviewing my eligibility later on, they sent me the correspondence letter for biometrics validity. I asked around but most people didn’t get that letter so I was a bit worried. I hope good news is on its way
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 2:50pm On Nov 29, 2018
Sure.

Omoarukheo:
Yaaaay that's cool, pm?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 2:40pm On Nov 29, 2018
Lol, I’m headed to the same place.

Omoarukheo:
University of Windsor, you?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 2:18pm On Nov 29, 2018
You’re welcome. What school?

Omoarukheo:
Amen o! Thank you so much
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 2:08pm On Nov 29, 2018
It’s a good sign. You should get approved in a few days.

Omoarukheo:
Hi guys,
Been on medicals passed since oct 16 and I got the biometrics validity mail today, is this a good sign or it's a regular thing ?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 5:21pm On Nov 27, 2018
Did mine in October, I hope that’s ‘recent’ enough.

I contacted them over the phone and booked an appointment. The appointment was set 3/4 days after I called in.

I went in by 8am( which was late). I was done by 1pm. The process is pretty straight forward. There will be someone to tell you what to do every step of the way.

I’d advice you to be there before 8am so as to get yours done as quickly as possible.

malcom2x:
Please who has done upfront medical in Abuja recently and what's the process like.
Did u book an appointment?
How long did it take?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 10:09am On Nov 26, 2018
Yes it is. The earlier, the better. It gives you enough time to reapply if you are rejected and it also helps in situations where the application takes too long like May/June/July applicants this year.

I submitted mine 8 months before resumption.

Good luck.

Qudkom:
Quick question guys, Please is it advisable to submit a visa application 9months before school resumption?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 8:42am On Nov 26, 2018
Yeah. I applied in April, got admitted in July.

Email the school and find out if there are slots open for the summer intake.

University of Windsor took about 4 months.

What intake? Winter, Summer or Fall?

Dera12345:
Please.., people who have their MSc acceptance letter from UNIVERSITY OF WINDSOR or UNIVERSITY OF REGINA, how long did it take to get a response after submitting your application??
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 1:02pm On Nov 23, 2018
Congratulations bro. I told you it will come, on or before Friday. The Correspondence letter will come in much later.

My application was approved on a Friday as well, I didn’t get my correspondence letter until Tuesday.

You can go & collect your stamped passport from Vfs. Once again, congratulations.

Fram:
Hello Guys. So my application was approved today smiley but there’s no approval letter from CIC. Only the counter foil document number.
So I need advise

Q-Life & IOM

The charge for IOM is 41,400.

blaugrana82:
Guys pls help me. Which hospital or clinic in Lagos does the medical examination and how much do they charge per person. I'm thinking of going for upfront medicals. I'm tired of waiting.

IOM Lagos & Q-Life.
When I checked in with Q-Life as at October they were booked for the year. You can try IOM Lagos, you might get a date within the year. Your appointment would be booked two weeks from the day you called in.

IOM Abuja still has openings, you can get a booking within the week or latest next week. It costs 41,900, I can’t remember the exact figure (you can go with 42,000 just to be safe).

All you need is your medical invitation, your intl’ passport or a copy of your intl’ passport.
It took 3 days from the day I took the medical exam for it to be sent to embassy.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

gg4real:
Please advice wheres the best place to do medicals in Lagos and what's the procedure?

You can check these out:-
Univeristy of Ottawa, Univeristy of British Columbia, York University, University of Toronto.

Do a vivid research on them, check the tuition, location, requirements and program length. If they fall within what you’re looking for then you can apply. Please do not limit your research on just the schools listed, go ahead and search for more schools.

Yes you can use the same reference letters. Each properly addressed to the university you’re applying to.

josefaith:
Thanks for your response. I graduated with Second Class Upper Division (4.11). What other Universities can you recommend for me. I do not mind applying for up to four (4) different universities in as much as they offer Economics. Can I use the same letter of reference for all the school I intend apply to?

Thank you.

Did you do upfront medicals?

I received my approval two days after I got my correspondence letter with the subject ‘Validity of Biometric Information’.

If the medical exam was requested and like you’ve said you passed then you’ll get your approval in a few days.

Fram:
Hi guys, I got a correspondence letter yesterday. Although I submitted my passport when I did my paper submission in September. So what does this mean and how close am I to getting the final approval mail. Already passed medical btw. Sorry for asking jamb question. I just need answers sad
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 11:57pm On Nov 16, 2018
What result did you graduate with? If your result is good then go ahead and apply for a Master’s program. I’d like to add that if you have enough funds for application fees you can apply to more than one school just to be on the safe side.

Yes, you can sponsor yourself.

josefaith:
Good evening fam,

I am a graduate of Accounting (B.Sc) in one of the Federal Universities and intend applying for Economics (MA) at University of Manitoba. I do not know if i will be given admission to study for Masters in Economics or I should apply for Pre-Masters. Is it possible for me to be my sponsor without any assistance from relatives. Intend using my domiciliary and Naira account balances for the purpose. Please I need urgent response. Criticism is allowed.
