Unfortunately it is almost impossible to find a University offering admission for this year at this time. However you can apply for winter or summer of next year. fabregasss: |

You're right on track. An Introduction Letter, an employment letter, contract offer (If Applicable) & Pay slip should do. A reference letter and a recommendation letter are one and the same, also the details of your job, how much you earn and the time you put in should be in your employment letter or offer letter. Most people don't like to include a study leave letter (P.S I included it) but if you must make sure the course you intend to study is in line with your current job role. Good luck. chisongozi: |

Hello, I'm not a guru but here's what I think; If your employers sponsor you with 6 million it means they will have 100 thousand naira left. This is barely enough to run a company. This will raise a red flag. Also if they eventually decide to transfer the money to you, they will have to explain explicitly why they are investing in you. For that SOA to fly the balance has to be a lot more than that; given that it is a company account. Amahjosh: |

Yeah. You can contact some of these banks to be certain. TD Bank, CIBC, Citibank, RBC. Try reaching out to any of them. Ggetter50: 1 Like |

To apply for a bank account remotely, you’ll need to get in touch with the bank either via live chat, by email or by phone. First, you’ll be asked a few questions to determine your immigration status (whether you’re a temporary resident on a work or study visa or a permanent resident). You’ll then have to wait to be contacted by a dedicated account-opening team, which should happen in the following days. You’ll also need to have your immigration papers in order, as otherwise you won’t be able to proceed with your application. As you can see, the process isn’t straightforward and will take at least a few days to complete. In most cases, you will have to make an appointment and visit a branch once you’re in Canada. The good news is that Canada’s major banks all have tailored products for newly arrived immigrants. It’s also easier to iron out any difficulties in person. With this in mind, and given the limited choice and waiting time involved in the remote procedure, it may be a good idea to open your account once you’re in Canada. Ggetter50: 1 Like |

Just to chip in, The struggle to get a job is basically the same across board, especially when you lack Canadian experience. It doesn't make a lot of sense moving to Toronto for that purpose alone given that she just completed her second semester. Note that the house rent and cost of living will also increase significantly. My advice would be to tweak her resume to the Canadian standard and apply for jobs on indeed and kijiji, she can also go to these places physically and hand in her resume. There is a hiring agency called Legacy Personnel at 2480 Seminole St, Windsor, ON. She can drop her resume with them, get booked for an interview and hope it works out. Finally, If she has 40 CAD to spare, she can apply for Smart Serve. It's a certification that allows one serve in restaurants and bars, you basically cannot serve alcohol or food anywhere without that certification. It costs 40 CAD and it takes roughly 6 hours to prepare for it. Now, having this certification will up her chances a great deal. I hope this helps. Goodluck. Naijaforeigner: 5 Likes |

You can use deed of assignment, C of O and the irrevocable power of attorney to show documents of landed properties. You can use either C of O or deed of assignment but in the absence of the former, deed of assignment can be used. I don’t think it is necessary to include the land survey plan, you can only include this when you have had a surveyor estimate the value of the property (which isn’t necessary as well). To get to your second question, i’d advice you not to include the C of O if it bears a different name. You’d do well to include the irrevocable power of attorney. I hope this information helps. Goodluck. Kenny4real68: |

I just read about someone with issues on his study permit, this will unfortunately take a while to correct. Please when you land, tuck all that excitement in and make sure everything is right with your study permit. You can work for 20 hours per week when school is in session and 40 hours when it’s not. If you don’t see this on your permit, call the attention of the officer, do not be afraid. You can even decide to inform the officer before he issues yours. I’ll share part of my experience at the immigration counter and hope it helps someone. First counter:- Me: Good morning Ma Officer(female): Hi, good morning. You smell nice ( for real though). Is that coco butter. Me: No, that’s perfume oil. Thank you btw. Officer(f):- okay, it’s good. Me:- Hello, please could my permit let me work on and off the campus? Officer(f): I don’t handle that, when you get to the next officer ask. They’d attend to you the best they can. Second Counter: Me: Good morning Officer(m): Hi, I see you’re from Nigeria. Me: Yes Officer(m): Can I have your offer letter and passport? Me: sure, (hands him my documents)* Officer(m): How long is your program? Me: 18 months Officer(m): That’s Good ** He was about to print my permit Me: Hi, could I please make a request? Officer(m): Sure, what’s on your mind? Me: Could my permit let me work on and off the campus? Officer: Give me a moment to check what is applicable. ** He didn’t even know. After a few minutes. Officer: Yeah, you can. Prints my permit and it allows me work on and off campus. Please speak up and ask. Also the fact I was just asked to show my offer letter and passport, doesn’t mean it’d be the same for you. Take all the documents you’ve been asked to take to the point of entry. Like naijaforeigner said, staying here without work is difficult. Get a winter jacket or two. It is extremely cold here, extremely cold. My first day out, tears dropped from my eyes. True story. Stay safe guys and good luck. 14 Likes 1 Share |

To avoid any form of disappointment just take out the whole day for it. Booking an appointment isn’t compulsory, i’d advice you to get one regardless so you don’t get harassed at the gate. You can get an appointment slip easily from Vfs’ website. favoured247: |

Is your wife in Russia with you? The area you’d need to tackle is home ties, if your family is in Russia as well then that might pose a challenge. Another option is to come back to Nigeria and apply from here, if you can. The odds would be higher that way. Good luck. kenraj: |

You asked if someone can apply for college with a 2:1 and the answer to that question is Yes. Then the follow up was if that would guarantee a visa application success, and I said ‘with visa applications there is nothing guaranteed’. You can do everything right and still get rejected. We’ve seen it here countless times, all we can do is put out our best and hope it all works in our favour. 042viber12: 2 Likes |

Standard but if you don’t ask, they could make a mistake and give you a work permit that will only let you work on campus. So to be on the safe side, ask. P.S correcting the mistake on your study permit could take months. DMerciful: 2 Likes |

If you stay around Ontario, instead of using air canada or another connecting flight say Westjet to your city, you could use Rideshare and pay as low as CAD 60. I have to wait some hours but I don’t mind. |
