If I may chip in...

Yes you can.
No you don’t have to go to vfs to submit.
Have you linked your application? If no, check frankrobbn1’s timeline he posted how to go about it a while ago.

When you link your application, you can upload your medical exam result from the comfort of your home.

Adebayo2296:
Thank you i have submitted application already, so my question is can i do medicals and submit even though i have not been called for medicals? I was thinking about the long processing time. What is the process of submitting it? will i have to go to vfs to submit it. I did paper route.

Go to the school’s website, check if they offer your preferred course, when and if the application portal is open (I suspect it is), the admission requirements and the financial involvement (application fee, tuition & living expenses).

If all the boxes are checked then you can go ahead and apply.
Good luck.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 5:21pm On Nov 06, 2018
Hello,
Your first question will be best answered in the US thread.

Yes you can definitely apply yourself. This thread is basically for Canadian Study Permit Applicants. However, You’d have to visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website to get the documents you and your husband will need to apply.
You’ll also find the forms and the step by step process on the aforementioned website. I think there should be a thread that can effectively answer your questions.

I hope this little information helps.

ebbytaiwo:
Thank you for the response.

My first question: My US Visa will expire in Jan, 2019 and I want to travel in March, 2019, when is the best time to apply for a Dropbox? Do I wait for the visa to expire or I should apply now as the interview date for US EMBASSY is very far.

My second question: what are the documents needed for my husband and I to apply for a canadian visa as we intend to travel around March/April for an event. Can I also process this application by myself or do I need an agent (as for my US APPLICATION i didnt use any agent but did it by meself). If my husband and I would have to apply without using any agent, can someone please help with a step by step process.... the link to get the form what to do and how to go about it.

I would really appreciate a prompt and detailed response.

Thank you all

Okay. Thank you for clarifying. Amen to your declaration.

Frankrobbn1:
No! The 2 of them that was approved were called for medicals and the remaining 2 that was refused weren't instructed to undergo a medical exam. Congratulations to you, you will get a PPR soonest.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 4:06pm On Nov 06, 2018
I hope it ends in my favour.

Thank you.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 4:05pm On Nov 06, 2018
Thank you for explaining.

Quick question, were the 4 all invited to take the medical exam?

Frankrobbn1:
This must be your first application that's why you're getting a correspondence notifying you of your biometrics validity. I know of 4 different applicants within few days of receiving this letter, their application was approved, some denied. Your approval is close brother since you've been called for medicals.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 4:04pm On Nov 06, 2018
Thank you

Coast2Coast:
PPR to follow shortly. Same as ours. Congratulations
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 3:50pm On Nov 06, 2018
Yes I was.

The subject of the letter is ‘Validity of your Biometric Information’

Frankrobbn1:
Were you called for medicals? If yes, then it likely a PPR. Congratulations as you open the attachment.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 3:46pm On Nov 06, 2018
Guys, I just got an email saying I have a new message in my account. I checked and I saw a correspondence letter. I did my medicals on the 2nd of November. Please what does this mean? My hands are shaking right now.

P.S it’s still showing ‘Your application is in progress, we will send you a message once the final decision has been made’

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 5:16pm On Nov 02, 2018
I can’t answer the first part of the question because I didn’t apply online.

You can add your siblings’ birth certificate if you have it, it’s not mandatory though. It can stand in as home ties, though not a strong one but one nonetheless.

blet:
i must say that you guys are awesome. Please the part for Client Information (Optional documents) on the online application, is that where i attach my credentials, proof of assets, birth certificate etc?

do i really need to add siblings birth certificates?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by Awuuga: 3:46pm On Nov 02, 2018
There are no implications. A lot of people here have applied without a Police Clearance Certificate and gotten approved.

blet:
Whats the implication of submitting my application without Police Clearance?

Hi nairalanders, I am a silent reader. I got to know about this group 6weeks ago. I got approval for student visa this morning and want to share my story.
I graduated bachelors in technology in Aerospace engineering india on that 31th of may 2018. I graduated with first class with gpa of 9.4/10 (or 4.7/5 Nigerian equivalent). I got admission to do my master in aerospace engineering for fall 2018 at concordia university. I applied for my first Canadian visa with 6 weeks left on my indian student visa. (At that time the processing time in india have climbed to 7weeks). After 5 weeks I withdraw my application in order not to overstay my visa which will be a very bad thing for me and came back to nigeria. I defferd my admission to winter 2019 and applied for study permit in Nigeria paper route on Sep 17 ,2018. I started reading nairaland and boy O' boy i got freaking scared. After 5 weeks i got tired of all this and applied for fall 2019 intake at the best aerospace institute in france . This morning I got approval. Sidenote: I am not religious and the constant reliance on a supreme being to help your visa chances in this group got me a bit irritated. But I respect everyone's view and perspective.

Timeline:
Degree: masters in aerospace engineering
Submission date: 17 Sept 2018 with upfront medical and bio. ( I used the one I did in india for both medical and bio)
Submission type : paper route
Linked my application on the third day
Eligibility review started on the 22nd October.
Approval on 2nd November
Time taken 6 weeks and 4days
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Awuuga: 11:35pm On Sep 30, 2018
1. Yes the VO will because that is what it is. He is assisting financially so it’s a cosponsorship situation.
2. No it will not. It’s okay to have more than one sponsor.
3. Yes it is perfectly fine
4. Well, since he is your cosponsor he is expected to provide all of those.

P.S I think ‘Letter of Financial Support’ and ‘Letter of Sponsorship’ are one and the same thing.
Also, I think he will have to show commitment either by paying part or all of your tuition fees or sending CAD10,000 to an account of yours for your one year living expenses.

I hope this helps. The answer provided is from the little I know and have read on this forum they are open to corrections.

Best regards.

..for second opinion(s) please advice!
My Father is the sole sponsor, but his friend(our family friend) has pledged to assist me with some support funds per year for the duration of my studies but the funds would be made available to me on monthly basis. He's also willing to write a "Letter of Financial Support(not a letter of sponsorship)." My question(s)

1. Will the VO see this as a co-sponsorship situation
2. ‎Will this create/cause harm to my app
3. ‎Is it okay for him to support the "Letter of Financial Support" with an "affidavit"
4. ‎He is willing to lend me is bank statement, business CAC, Property document etc to prove his commitment, is this too much from someone who is not my sponsor

BTW he can't transfer the funds to me at once but will be able to give me the funds monthly upon divide for a year

Try google, have a checklist of location, course structure, fees etc. Compare and contrast the universities offering Computer Science. Pick one University or more and apply, depending on how much money you’re willing to spend on application fees.

To be honest, this is Impossible. Opt for May Resumption. Even then i’m not sure the application process is still ongoing. Check the univeristy’s Website to be certain. All the best.

Why an undegraduate degree instead of a PGD? Anyway its very much possible to scale through with this profile, people have done so in the past. I must point out that you have a huge task of convincing the VO in your SOP. I'd also advice that whatever course you decide to pursue (undergraduate or PGD) should be in line with the current course you're offering in Nigeria at the moment. I hope this helps.

Best regards.

good day @all pls wats y’all opinions if i decided to apply for an undergraduate degree having that am almost done with my university education here in nigeria, having completed my ssce in 2014..do u think the VO’s frown at it hence a refusal? whats the best route having that am sure am gonna grad with at least a 3.3 and we all know canada doesn’t accept that for masters.

giftbush,

First off, congratulations on your admission. Secondly, this should supposedly be important to you. I'd advice you to take the time out and read this thread from page 0, if after reading you have questions to ask you can then ask the floor. No one is going to spoon-feed you with all that information, as you might have observed everyone is tensed right now.

Yes he can. You’ll have to include your sister’s birth certificate, her husband’s birth certificate and their marriage certificate to your application. If he is your sponsor you’re expected to submit his bank statement.

I think your anger is directed at the wrong set of people. It’s quite unfair to blame them for selling themselves and worshipping the white men when they barely had any choice, remember there was a lack of exposure and education. I’d like to see the decisions you’d make if all your exposure and education were stripped away.

Personally I think they did the best they could given the circumstances they were in,no doubt they could have done better but still they did alright. 1 naira was equivalent to a dollar at some point, we didn’t need visa to get into the UK at some point. Things were a lot better then. Along the line it al went down the toilet, some may rightly blame the leaders, while others would blame triabalism and how much it has taken from us. One thing is certain though, it is left to us to FIX up.

As for CIC doing us anyhow, I think we have our fellow young Nigerians to blame for that. The bad examples they’ve shown over there has left a bad taste in their mouth. You’d be that cautious if your country was as developed as Canny and it was your responsibility to let people from a third world country with a bad enough reputation in.

Last last we go dey alright.

Top of the morning to you all.

Have you seen a person so rich and yet so poor?
Have you seen a nation so blessed and yet so cursed?
Have you seen a country so endowed with resources, its people and materials and still lacking resources?
A country robbed of its young is robbed of its future.
The answer is simple
NIGERIA IS CURSED. Nigeria is cursed on the action and barbaric belief of our BASTARD forefathers (exo 20:5)

All these difficulties nah them start am. Instead of them to be working, they are selling themselves, worshipping white people, walking naked like gorilla!
Before you start coming for me, I love Nigeria sooo much, if I will come back to this world I will choose Nigeria again and again. But I HATE our four fathers with passion. And for our government...

I hate our forefathers they put us in this mess.
Negodu cic doing us anyhow. So if I’d applied paper route nah like this dem go hold my dad crucial documents.
My application is now pregnant waiting for delivery in the hand of IRCC please they should attend to her.

It won’t hurt having other options in a different country( in this case the US). I also don't see how the VOs can know the schools you applied to.

Please is it advisable to apply for Masters in universities in Canada and USA, or I should just stick to one countryhuh

1) For most schools in Canada application for fall 2019 hasn't commenced. Application will commerce very soon so I'd advice you to keep checking.

2) What grade did you graduate with? The safest option will be to go for a biochem related course. However if you have a lot of relevant experience in business management and the likes, you can opt for a business related course. You will need to convince the VO by explaining why you're going for a PGD and not a master's (hence me asking the grade you graduated with).

I hope this helps. I can be corrected if the information provided isn't accurate.

Regards.

dharmmy09:
Good evening folks. I have been a vivid follower of this thread for some months now. To think i actually took my time to read some of the past Thread from the beginning to the end was "insane"( i ended up frying my eyes in the process). I have some questions which i would love you guys to help me with!
1)when does the registrations for fall 2019 starts?no info as of yet from all the schools i have searched.
2)i have a B.SC in biochem. Would it be wise to go for a business related course as a PGD route or biochem related course.

More questions as we proceed. Thanks

Thank you, Frank. I stated my career prospects and how my degree will benefit my home country in the future. My SOP isn't done yet, as I conclude I will include all the pointers you've given. I appreciate your help sir.

Frankrobbn1:
Your ties looks good! You can do better than the above by convincing the visa officer about your career prospects and plans after studies. How your proposed program will be of paramount benefit to you in future and to your nation as whole... What difference can you make upon your return to Nigeria?, how will your international certificate be of cutting edge over your contemporaries back home?, What is your short term and long term after study plan? All these can also stand as part of your unwavering commitments back home.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Awuuga: 11:01pm On Sep 13, 2018
Thank you so much.
I showed home ties by stating I have landed properties to inherit, birth certificate of mother and siblings and also a membership to professional bodies like NSE & OSP. These can fly right?

Frankrobbn1:
Are these number of persons (5) still under her care? If there are some that are already married or working in their respective offices, then her financial resources is sufficient. Moreover, the era of insufficient funds for CIC has passed, you're left with a big task to convince the visa officer beyond reasonable doubt that your intent of travelling to Canada is strictly for studies and would leave after your authorized stay by providing sufficient ties back home.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Awuuga: 5:35pm On Sep 13, 2018
Thanks for your response, Frank. She has five dependents including myself, is that still sufficient?

Frankrobbn1:
Awuuga,

1-)Your mother's financial establishment is sufficient only if she doesn't have much dependents to cater for. Please make sure she gets a reference letter from the bank stating that she's the sole signatory to this company account.

2-) I don't think it's important for her to transfer money to your personal account, reasons because she is your biological mother and it's generally known by the Visa officers that parents can't leave their children stranded in a foreign country. Transferring of funds is a good option when you're making use of third party sponsorship, those who are not close relative (uncle, aunt, company or employer) to evidence funds accessibility to the applicant. Hence, your mom already paid first term tuition is adequate to proof her financial commitment. It's left for you, If you want her to effect the transfer... Fine!, but it's not compulsory. Even if she wants to, let it be in a dorm account to show that funds are already in convertible currency and can be easily exported to Canada when your TRV is approved.

All the best!
