@kobojunkie are you saying the recession didnt affect naija economy or property market ? |
@axeman85 You continued forming and writing rubbish until you were cut to size by dear kobojunkie, you did not know when to stop. Can you now buzz off and go sleep? You think your UK claims are anything fantastic? I know your type, continue sweating and slaving away and forming but don't show up to read our minds. We don't need you here. You will never get the point because you belong to the lowest form of humans-the betrayers.
you are a useless fool for thinking in an upside down manner. kobojunkie is pointing out his vies and so am i and every other people on here. neither am i claiming uk is same as naija but its similar. for you information i have been here studying which by the grace of God i will be back in naija to contribute my own quota after gaining work experience and qualifications as well. go back to your books and understand the true meaning of the word betray becos if a governemnt cant give me proper education and i have the opportunity to get the best from another country why wont i do so. if you read my post WELL i will be relocating back to naija to continue the struggle not becos i dont have a well paid job here but becos i believe in the country called Nigeria. AS earlier stated its either you are frustrated or an educated illiterate who just hapens to pass thru a university with a 3rd class or poor 2.2. do you even stop to think for a while before speaking. mabie you should be buying punch every day and be reading so you can enlighten yourself more. i.d.i.o.t |
@banix u seem to have quite good naija used cars. just a question, is there a possibility of changing an old plate number to a new one. as in lets assume the plate number on a vehicle is bad or getting rugged, can i apply for a new, same number but new plates ? |
oboma1 thats the point we expect too much from a particular government withing the period of 3yrs or 2yrs their tenure is and when they dont deliver we are dissapointed. lets assume fashola, did brt, street ligh, expansion of roads, and flower planting, and tax. when the next government comes he.she can continue were he stopped from and do lighgt, road. e.t.c. |
@oboma1 i also understand your point and views, its the same thing we are saying here. in as much as i am in support of this tax payment i want to also see evidence the money is in use. but i know LASG has limits to what they can do without approval of FG. but nevertheless we need to see more than what they are doing. @naijatoday i was reading it today and in all fairness thats bad but the problem is not just brt buses most organisations in naija just put things in place without proper checks and balances and their mentality of management is either fear or just turning a blind eye. simply is they dont know what management is all about. these i have seen in most establishment including the brt. rude drivers and rude conductors as well as rude passengers. what they need is a proper management structure in place who knows the true meaning and understanding of management. |
Oboma1:my guy thats true but we all know if we nigerians are given to opportunity to even get petrol for free without paying we would do so. i happen to have a friend who used to be the BM of a big development coy in vi , when i hear the amount of money spent on projects and how much in profit they are making they are making as much as 50-60% on just a property. and these property are beyond the reach of average nigerians. when a house cost 50million naira to finish including all the paper work and land buying, and they ask you to come and pay 110million to buy it beocs its in banana city. for what were as the same house with same everything sells in magodo shangisha for 70million. |
monkeyleg:thanks just what i insinuated in my post. for them to be billed 400million then obviously the project they have in mind mst be a big one. lets assume the government even decide to grant them a waiver on the 400million, when they want to rent out these properties you will hear them calling millions, some even charge in foreign currencies. if these companies are making money off their developments and location of the investments the government should also be able to get rewards from them and use it to better other areas of the sector which needs development. |
@oboma1 you will be suprised with the amount of tax people or chages we pay here, we have council tax, work tax, congestion charge, e.t.c. the tax charged is not withn limit oooooo. dont even think so. i have dealt with people on benefits whos total bnfts he/she gets from the government is £240/month and out of that they are to pay their bills, food, and pay council tax which is around £60 upwards. |
oboma1 as i said earlier in regards to the saga btw tinubu and fashola thats not news in fact it was published on sahara reporters months back i think about may/jun time sha cant remember precisely when. i havent been to lagos or naija in 6years and when i visited in january this year i was facinated with what i saw and i was impressed i visited naija 2more times making it 3times i have been to naija this year. but notwithstanding i keep myself knowledgeable with whats going on in naija via online news and newpapers online which is punch. lets be honest with ourselves here. in the shor time fashola has been on seat hasnt good improvement been done in lagos state. ? personally i believe he has done tremendously well and still doing so. lets appreciate him for the good things he has done and still doing. i understand your point of view here. but in uk for example the fee you pay to the council depends on the type of building you are constructing. bearng in mind the building these companies are developing, is above the reach of the avergae nigerians as they sell or rent for million of naira, $$ and £££. am sure for them to be quoted that figure then it must have depended on the type of developments they want to sink in that area. |
Kobojunkie:well apologies if i am generalising but in the uk were i reside that is the case. eg when council tax for each resident are reviewed yearly they dont consult us before increasing it , all we get is a letter from the council saying your rate has gone up. and you have no choice you must pay it or go to prison. i am not saying the governor shouldnt be blamed afterall why should he only get the blame ? bearing in mind the governor sometimes all they do is just get the opinion of experts and consultants and put their signature of the paper without any clue of it. eg iif my system breaks down i get an expert to do it for me and believe he can fix it, if after fixing it he comes and says i have done it, sign here all i will do is sign even thou i havent actually known what he has done. |
post your resume and let me post mine and we can compare and see whos is better. |
@axeman85 You are 'forming' like modern kids say. You are a bloody liar and all what you said about yourself are pure lies. You are one of those fools planted in discussion fora online to takl rubbish. Hide your head in shame and stop writing nonsense. You seem totally ignorant of how democracy works. No matter what you say, people know you for what you are-an internet plant of some govt official. You are right, we are not on the same level, I work hard for my money, you bootlick for yours. No comparison.
in as much as i dont want to trade insults with you. i will be forced to do so. i am proud for what i do so i can flaunt it anywhere and if i want to lie or impress people i would do it in a better way instead of a kid like you. i live and work in a country where they practice democracy. shame for you bring all you are worth in you life and i will break it down into pieces. you come on here all mighty talk of working hard, do they pick money on the floor anywhere in the country. i am a firm believe and stand for the proper way things should be done. what do you do for a living anway, guess u r one of those that live in 1bedroom apartment of share with your friends ofr live with your folks so you dont know what independence means. follish fool. |
@oboma1 if the above said is true then its very bad and its uncalled for by fashola but we all know the issue of politics in nigeria and issues of god father and god son in politics. i am not in support of the afore mentioned by huhuonline. but what i stand on is that tax should be paid and if the government see increasing it is a way of boosting revenue for the state and reducing congestion of houses then so be it . for heavens sake. you stand in your bedroom after taking a shower and your next door neighbour can see your unclothedness just becos of closeness to each other. nonsesnse and still new buildings are springing up everyday. why wont they be traffic jams and increament in rent from landlords. |
magragold: initiator:why must it be lagos that they must develop ? why dont these developers go to areas like ibafo, ikorodu, sango, abule egba. areas. am not sure if i can remember but i tink in the original post the guy said it was a plot in banana island or island. how many of us here can afford to go and live in such areas where rent are being charged in dollars and pounds. ? lets be realistic and put aside sentiments. what has to be done has to be done. for lagos to move forward harsh and difficult decisions has to be made. but at least the tax u guys are paying you can see where the money is going . we always complain lets learn to appreciate the good little things we can get from fashola while he is there the next person if fashola goes migh just be another ibori. |
Kobojunkie:in one of my post i did say even thou experts were consulted before decision was made also his position also played an mportant matter in it because he also has to approve it. my brother, certain decision are made without the general public being consulted same as it is done in western world, when they sat down to increase 40% tax for those high earners in uk for example, they didnt consult the public, when they increase council tax and reduced vat they didnt consult the public. what am trying to say is in governmeent there are certtain decision which are being made and which the general public dont have a say in it, thats why we have senators representing each consituency and areas and also hod and directors in urp area of government if fashola rights a bill and passes it to the assembly for approval . if they assembly passes the bill thru then why should fashola be blamed if its not favourable to the next person. ? one mans food is anothers poison. |
@axeman85 Must you talk nonsense to earn your pay? Stop typing if you don't understand English. You seem to be replying without reading up the subject matter. You are a bloody fool for trying to defend the indefensible. Do you pay tax at all? I WILL DIRECT A CYBER-BLOW AT YOU IF YOU DON'T GET OFF THIS THREAD? BOOT LICKER.
who are you to come and ask me if i pay tax ? i have been paying tax before you started going to school idiot. i live and work in the uk for now and in the 5/6yrs i have lived here i have worked and paid tax at the normal rate and also at 40% ok. so yes i do pay my tax and if i was living and working in lagos which i will soon be by the grace of God i will also pay tax. anyway i dont blame you its educated illieterates like you that see faults with things which are meant to bring progress and betterment to the people of lagos. in regards to earning my pay , lagos state doenst pay me neither does fashola or any naija governmental bodies pay me. I AM AN ACCOUNT MANAGER WORKING FOR BANKS IN THE UK WHICH INCLUDE. LLOYDS TSB, HBOS, NATWEST, THAMES WATER, SOUTHERN WATER AND ABBEY BANK. OK. SO YOU ARE NOT MY LEVEL TO BE TRADING INSULTS WITH YOU. |
@igbo boy i understand what you are saying BuT bearing in mind fashola isnt the one who just woke up and made the decision on his own, a panel or board members must have sat down in a round table and decide on what the rate should be. so blaming fashlola is not the right thing to do. although his position matters but there are so called experts that approved the rate. |
abeg guys lets put sentiments aside jare. who is beheading who, soludo that needs beheading for turning a blind eye to malpractices and unhealthy banking procedures. if sanusi had also kept quiet as soludo did, yes naija banks will still be going but years down the line when they collapse and all our money trapped inside we will be the ones to start complaining amd cursing. so let him do his job and hopefully it will make naija banking secotr stronger and better. chikena. |
Kay 17:my friend why dont you keep you baldadash to yourself instead of opening your mouth and ranting rubbish and showing your stupidity on here. is expanding road not a means of trying to curb trafic jams, ? is introducing brt not an improvement compared to the molues ? planting flowers is beauty is that not better than seeing waste and refuse dumps by the roadside. ? and is all these not creating a few hobs for the unemployed ? do you pass by toll gate and 3rd mainland bridge and do u see those little buses and vans with sirens parket on those strategic areas ? there are not toys ok . so before you speak always think well and dont just make baseless and pointless accusations. |
@igbo boy This is not a matter of the rate, if you want to do somethin then you are given a quotation either u like it or lump it as its mandatory. Lagos is already clustered already with houses everywhere and more people tropping into lagos on a daily basis for various reasons. rates are being paid everywhere even in developed countries and they even disguise their such as council tax, which varies from area to area. for a company wanting to build such a mighty development, they should be able to pay the rates becos when they start selling off the houses they will be in million of naira or even rent it out in dollars and pounds. its a housing development and one way or the other the govt must benefit from it as hopefully the proceeds will go back to improving the city of lagos. |
i concur with you poster. in naija we ten to adopt the westernized culture and way of life but we practice it the other way round. why is an ambulance carrying dead body sef, isnt that the job of the undertakers. i though Fg passed law banning people from use of siren apart from emergency services. well i forgot this is nigeria, anything goes. |
they need to sue them with immediate effect because for them to be sacked they need to have commited serious offence which is gross misconduct and inturn lead to immediate dismissal under the employment act . but since naija companys dont have proper hr structure and dont follow procedure. even in applying redundancy they are supposed to give those affected or going to be affected notice to enable them seek alternative measures. but even if they sue i doubt it they will win as anything goes in naija. Good luck |
Nigerians we want the best of things and life and want government to provide everything for us BUT we dont want to pay for it . its not done anywhere becos even in developed countrued everybody pays tax even the cleaners who earn minimum wage also pay tax 16yr old who works also pays tax, every home owner either rented or woned pays a monthly fee called council tax not to talk of if you earn more u pay more. so fashola is not a thief and the money used to change lagos has to come from somewhere apart from FG allocation budget. developed countires and cities get a majority of their revenue from taxation. PAY YOUR TAX AND DUES. |
Youre Missing the Point Axeman, If youre rich Enough to buy an SLR, then shipping / Importing of Parts or manpower to fix the car woould be the least of your worries. The car is not designed for just the Rich, its for People that cant think of anything more to use Money for. To you its a Bad investment, To Mark, its not.
oga inspired yea u r correct but looking at the maintainanace cost on the long run will be more expensive eg, you will either have to ship the car back to the manufactures if it has any fault or u will fly the tech guys down to naija to fix it, how long do u intend on using the car for, and besides who will want to buy it as second hand when the owner decides to sell it off. these are the factors i consider before making my statement, but as u said if u r wealthy no wahala. |
haba nairalanders will be very quick to start poiting accusing fingers at the girl and funniest part is majority of us on here are guilt of the said offence although we fit never reach 83 but most people on here minimum is 3 some are even clocking 10, 11 guys already but mba we will come here and start claiming holy holy. nonsense. afterall its her life let her live it the ways she wants it becos its her that will carry her cross when times reaches. |
if this is true then its very sad very very. not just women but men are also guilty if we say lets start counting how many sexual partners we have had am sure some have had 10. and i personally a friend when he and his fiancee had a serious and honest discussion and they talked about sexual partners the girl is only 23 and has had 6 or 8 including my friend. and currently they are not sure of getting married due to family pressure from the girl side which means the girl is still going to number 9 and also there is no guarantee number 9 will settle with her. so the number quoted by the poster is quite achievable especially if the girl is or was a runs babe. but di number is a bit ficticious except if she is a professional akunakuna |
i am allergic to salad. lol i was also allergic to pizza but am eating it now. but i dont like fruits at all. only eat them like 1 or 2wice a year. lol |
@poster depends on your pocket and where you work and whats sort of business you do. stayed in magod shangisha, very peacefull , nice and posh area, close to the express and straight down to the island and also easy access to ikeja, gbagada areas. surulere is also a good area as close to the island and mainland as well. and also moderately affordable. also stayed in alausa area, nice location same as above, and also stayed in gbagada as grew up there, good locations but securing apartments in these areas can be quite expensive and traffic can be sometimes hectic but thats the general norm in lagos. well after considering all these areas in decided to secure an apartment in ogba area just after the busstop, nice location, has all i want and also ogba is close to areas like agege, ikeja and also easy to access the express that links to island as wel and also there a loads of back streets you can navigate incase of backstreet and most of all it is affordable and meets my needs. |
silvernus0:guy it depends oooo. my g doesnt like it but what i do is after smoking i chew minty gums and wash my hands and spray perfume to cover up the smell and i smoke outside and not inside. it takes serious 200% committment and serious hardwork to stop but it aint easy. |
@poster i fell u jare. i have been smoking from secondary school days but i am not addicted to it. i stopped for a year and then picked it up again recently i stopped for 2months and got stressed and troubled then i picked it up again. but difference btw now and before is that then i was known as sango as smoke was always coming out from my mouth but now i only smoke once a while. but when am in naija i smoke well. its difficult stopping completely becos once u get stressed u pick it up again. Tontodike:if ur the same actress then i can definately tell from ur lips even wth the lip gloss. guess its either white london or benson. lol. |
@poster how much will you deliver a 2003 mazda6 to lagos ? |
nice car and ride. i happen to know some guys who drive these exoctic cars in lagos including guys with name as all ibadan and magodo guys, all of them are in naija now becos no more business for london . majority of them are into yahoo yahoo and druggie and them don go jail for uk and some of them cant even enter london again, so in as much as i will like to see them including mark guy as role model i would rather not becos they are not good role models but BAD ONES. the car is a good car but even if you have the money can it be maintained in nigeria ? are they competent service station that can fix it well , not to talk of the quality of naija petrol and bad roads. just based on these small factors they car is a very bad investment. |
