Am really feeling bitter at the level of decay in the society, even someone who calls herself a mother is defending this bullshit. Agitator and bokaharam you guys are cool, i WILL never support evil, for God's sake this girl is 16 meaning a teenager. She should be college or tertitary school by now and one is telling me she deserves to have her life to herself now. i doubt the future of Nigeria if pple like poster, axeman and all those who support this happens to become leaders in this country. the Facts: at 16 she parties where alcohol is served. at 16 she is already having issues with the house of God (Church). at 16 she is already dating someone, and the fool she is dating is talking marriage. when her parents have parties dont they serve alcohol ? isnt that a party ? she is having issues with the PEOPLE IN THE CHURCH not the church. because some acclaimed pastors spread false and untrue rumors about her which i know its possible because i am a victim. in regards to dating i also personally have a problem with that because at 16 she should concentrate on her books and not about men.
|
@agitator in as much as i agree with some of your response i also disagree with some. the poster said she was seen with a bottle of guiness. she didnt say she was drinking it, and even if she was, its left for her to see it is bitter, spit it out and dont drink it again. stopping a child now from going out, socialising with friends or partying once a while doesnt mean the child will not end up being worse or do these things. have you wondered why some boys and girls now party 24hrs/7days a week, smoke and have multiple sex partners. personally i was sad and irritating to my ears 3days ago when a 26 yr old girl was telling me how she was lured into bed by a guy who prmised her a job. the girl has always been driver take me out and bring me back and butter pikin sha. things went bad so no more butter in her agai but becos of the way she was brought up she cant even smell a foul play when someone promised her a job and asked her to wait in an hotel room, came in the night like 7pm and asked her to stay the night so that he can take her to the job in the morning. what am saying in essence is that sometimes parents should give their children some little space to do things or experience things that will make them learn from their mistakes. becos sometimes being toooo strict turns the children to dunce or morons. and make children not have a mind of their own. |
some people are missing the point here, no one is against discipline or parents guiding their children BUT they and we need to understand that times and the world as a whole is changing and the times that parents make choices and make decision for their children is ending. in nigeria we all hide under the pretence of culture, as i have been saying this so called culture is the same blinding people from the truth and making people make wrong decisions and judgements even tho they know they are wrong but because CULTURE says its right they do so. @bokoharam. y sad parents are right at all times with the proverb you quoted. the world is changing and even what a baby can see before its born an adult cant even see it while using a stool to stand higher. agreed parents dont want their child to fall victim of things they themselves have fallen BUT hey that will in turn mean children are being thaught the wrong thing. some parents are creating enemity and division amongst themselves with their children all in the name of protecting them and knowing more than they are. I remembered back in the days my mum any small misttake na koboko, until i finally stood up to her packed my bags and left the house and today i never regretted making that decision because all she was doing then was making me dislike her by wanting to run my life for me even when i had finished secondary school and i wasnt having none of it. majority of the parents live in the past where the children should only be seen and not to be heard and whatever the feelings of the children or opinion doesnt count as long as they are concerned |
Valto:guy i undestand its a new one. its a used modem not a brand new one. if you are game for the price i quoted you then i will be picking it up by 22nd of jan and i will add transport fare or petrol fare for you on top. 8500 is my last bid for it. and as i said i am interested and not messing about here. reasons is am only in the country for just 4weeks and i need a connection and i might as well just go and buy mtn for 8500naira and only buy airtime when i need it. inface if you cant do it for 8500 no worries thanks for your time all the same. |
@sayso and jaguar 09 you are missing the point here. i am not against brnging up the child in the ways of the lord. BUT when people stat using the bible religion or culture to justify nonsense then thats wrong. read the posters post before just talking. you decided not to travel is your choice does of us that did are happy because i for one am happy i did because if i hadnt i would not have learnt what i learnt or achoeved what i have achieved and wouldnt have learnt that women should be treated with respect and s whole lot of other things which should be done equally with the woan but in naija a man cant be seen washing plate while the woman is sitting down. kasala go burst and tongues will start wagging. @jaguar 09 you are saying peace with your fellow man. did you read the posters original post at all. this girl loves this guy and if the parents continue with their same attitude and succed in dricing a wedge btw them and they go their seperate ways they will be very hurt. so where is the peace there. because this isnt peace for the guys involved its a case of the parents being not only selfish but self centered and not also respecting the wishes of their children. because of this same useless culture as a poster said. the mother brought a guy for the sister to marry all in the name that she knows what is best and today the marriage isnt working, the mother will be in her own husbands house chilling while the poor girl is the one sufferring now. same goes to the church, churches nowadays preach prosperity and forget the cores values of the church. @poster my advvice is for the girl to stand her ground and not let anyone sway her decision and also i dont think writing a letter to the girls church or mother will make any changes, because nowadays you will be suprised and shocked by the actions of some so called men who parade themselves in the name of pastors. @ tha amaka i totally agree with you jare i was and should i say currently a victim, the girl i intend getting married to apart from the tribe differences issues , people started feeding the girls parents false rumors, eg. 1 of the jobless people who calls herself a pastor came to an hotel room i was staying and saw a red scented candle on the table, insted of her to ask what it is she didnt and went to the girls parents that i am using juju for their daughter. and they believed another one is a pastor man who was saying the bad things about marrying from a different tribe just to persuade the girl from changing her mind, instead of him to just counsel her and leave the rest to her as a true man of God will do. all in the name of the money they get in gifts from the girls parents. also illiteracy also adds to this issue with parents not listening to their children as well. because being wise and just and uprigh is not just only about going to school, or going to university its also about reasoning outside the ethcis of culture as well. because sometimes you exect an educated person to reason differently from an uneducated person but you find out that both of them have their heads in the same place. |
bawomolo:but thats the said culture. smelling talk. |
212blaze:chief just another question. i have been reading in some post that if you have plenty credit on your phone mtn will just keep zapping it without telling you when your airtime has finished. but since i will be having plenty credit and i dont want them to zap it finish, can i instead just go and buy another sim card just to be using it for browsing alone ? |
lol noo its the fact am talking here na becos by the time i pay him 8k for the usb and another 6500 for 100hrs thats like 14500 but i can go for new mtn for 8500 and subscribe to either daily or monthly plan. |
bawomolo:if its my post ur referring to, what i meant there was its this useless culture that gives the wife to be calling her husbands younger ones auntie and uncle even tho they are much younger than her. |
Never put your trust in man/woman to fight for you at all becuase they will always let you down. |
Most nigerian parents believe they know whats best for their children. because they think being old and seen life qualifies them to know whats best. without considering the childrens opinion of thoughts. nonsense. years ago the day i stood up to my mother, that day my life changed for the better, i learnt to reason for myself, makes mistakes and learn from it. and also set the way for my younger ones to be able to reason and think for themselves and stand up for themselves so as not to be intimidated by anyone all in the name of parents. culture ko, culture ni, same culture that makes women slaves to their husband, makes men misbehave to their wives, makes children live their life in fear of their parents, makes children go to university and study what they are not interested in just becos they want to listen to their parent, make men get married to wrong choice of women becuase my parents dont like her, make women get married to men who turn out to be monsters or cronic womaniser, and they say my parents asked me to marry him becos he is igbo, yourba he is from my tribe. culture that makes a woman kneel down to give husband water. culture that makes the wife call her husband younger ones uncle or aunty at 18/19 years of age. NONSENSE. !!!!!!!!! |
@poster make them go siddon jare. especially your wife quoting reasons such as lack of infastructure. i have been in uk for past 6years decided to visit in jan 09 and was hapy to the extent that i went 2more times makeing it 3times last year and as am typing this i am already booked again to visit in 2weeks time where i will be spending 1month as am due to go back finally before end of this year. lack of infastructure is not the main issue afterall we were born and bred in naija with the same infastructure. but you can always make things different by getting a generator to power the light also health wise there are private medical centres you can go to and if u have the money anytime you sneeze you can always fly back to the uk, in regards to traffic situation its all about planning your time and the location you are living in in lagos will determine the length of time you spend in traffic. when i told people am relocation they were like ha no light no this no that but i told them even thou i might be earning better in uk but i believe that in naija if i cut my coat according to my size and live moderately then i will be better off than living in the uk. there is more to it that she doesnt want to relocate as you said earlier she dey fear lagos girls. lol or if you have grandparents in uk they can look after the kids for you while you are away in naija and you can rent out your apartment in uk. thats means you wont have to withdraw your kids from the good scholls they are in. and you can always come to uk often to see them and they can also come to naija. i dont have a family yet so i dont know how it is but thats my own singular opinion. |
BAC:=N=250 to £1 thats good na im be say i will get good bargain for my money wen i go house soon. well make we see if e go increase or reduce |
yes i was shicked but relaxed. reduced speed gradually and drove at slow speed from iyana isolo to ikeja and back again to iyana isolo before going to the mechanic to fix it. used the Hand brake throughout. |
Valto:guy the new one costs 20/26500k with 100hrs free so ow come your selling a used one for that price. anyway i am due to purchasing one in 2weeks time about 22nd jan if your game for 8k let me know. because by then your airtime will have expired or about to so dont need the airtime. just interested in the usb modem. |
i havent dealt with him before but i intend to in the next few months but will be meeting him in person to know more about him but nevertheless he has shown to be a trustworthy person based on his response on here. |
lol omo iya amugbo. lol |
@dualcore so it means i can as well go ahead and use my phone Nokia E71 then i wont have to pay for a modem all i do is jjust pay for the type of plan i want either monthly or daily package from mtn right ? also as u said while am receiving calls the speed will reduce but after am through with the call the speed will go back up, is that right ? |
Dual Core:thanxs BUT which one will u recommend and whats the price. |
I am currently in the market to purchase an internet connection. the cost of purchasing is not the problem. i am residing around ogba area and want to know the best connection to get, either i should use my phone nokia e71 but i dont want to as i heard that receiving calls while using the phone to browse affects the connection. so guys pls which one of the connection, mtn, starcomms, multilinks, glo is advisable to buy ? whats the reliability to an average user ? and also whats the cost of purchase as well ? thanks. i dont intend on downloading stuffs. just normal browsing, watching movies on youtube and listening to music and usual chattings. |
am actually looking for the evdo and not the cdma. tanxs anyway. |
WEll i am a man and i will say it is not compulsory for the woman to wash her husband clothes, she can do it if she wishes BUT because of culture the woman is expected to wash her husband clothes. Personally i dont even like anyone one be it a woman or man washing my clothes because i prefer to wash them myself since i use a washing machine to do so. also i spend alot on my clothes and wont wash a wife, woman or washerman to come and wash it that it will fade away or loose colour. lol |
ok didnt see it earlier. probs an oversight on my part. |
no price ? !!!!! |
212blaze:alright thanks very much. i have already downloaded the nokia pc suite already as am not in the country for now but intend using it when am around. thanks will follow instructions as you said and hopefully it works thanks. |
