As a matter of FACT what lagos is intending to do is unconsitutional in all cases. First of all the state government has no right to be turning back trucks or instructing driving licences not issued in lagos to be seized. THIS IS THE JOB OF THE FRSC they should be in charge of the transport divison in relation to law enforcement and the state government thru their MOT stations have the right to make sure MOT is genuine and cars are road worthy BUT we all know how its been done. even in developed countries its the DVLA that issues driving licence and also partner with accredited garages to provide MOT Cert for vehicles. and not the council( state) a drivers licence or mot issued on a vehicle can be sued in any town city in the united kingdom and u can even use it in france.

I have never met him, neither have i had reason to relate with him but its so sad reading of his demise. and reading he was loved by all. didnt know when the tears started rolling out. so sad to loose a bright kid, full of life and enlightened and one of our own here on Nairaland.

Dont rush yourself. the thing there is that, you will be able to travel to 9ja with the old passport BUT might not be able to come back with it. so while in 9ja you can do the new epassport comes out sometimes in 1week or 2weeks max dats if you go through an agent. i also have the old passport and i am travelling to 9ja in jan and thats wat i will be using BUT will do the new one while am dere.

very funny . used to doing test and and of which blood is creened for the virus but av bin clean so far. but intentionally went to do it specifically. the lady told me that if i dont hear from them again then i am ok but if i hear from them then there is a problem. to cut the long story short i waited and waited only for one morning my phone jst ring. it was them only to be asking me that they want more blood sample as the one they took no reach. i said how come. they said they have done syphilis, gonorrhea, and others it jst remains P1 or P2 left to do . anyway i didnt go back there oo. since i don clear for the rest and recent blood screening for medical purposes didnt come up with any issues.

The new method of using paving stones to patch roads is good. however if not done well its rubbish, eg. one done in ogba area, once it started raining the stones started swimming in the water as they had become loose.

moreover has anyone noticed that while driving on ikorodu road, the road isnt straight at all. has a funny structure dat when driving you have to hold firmly to the steering as its full of bumps and not smooth.

sorry to hear that BUT i honestly think its getting out of hand with those at GATWICK AIRPORT especially. the other day my dad was coming from germany a country he has lived in since earlye 1970s but never bothered getting his german passport due to them not allowing dual nationality and also lived in uk for over 10yrs as an EU national. since sept2010 he has been to germany twice as he is tryng to get his german p.

basically immigration started questioning him at gatwick from 11am till after 5pm or so. asking him all sorts of questions and asking where his wife is and why didnt they travel together. etc. my dad got pissed off and said does the woman expect him to carrry his wife on his head everywhere he goes. to vut the long story short they collected his passport and asked him to come with his wife the following week to get it. bearing in mind this is a man of above 60yrs old oooo. imagine.

i believe its a new thing or rascist something at gatwick u dont see dat in manchester or heathrow.

sorry just want to find out some info. when did u get to 9ja, when did u do your registration ? was it at abuja or lagos ? how many days did it take for registration ? and wen did u get your callup letter and also wen did camp open and wen did it close ?

Look at the passengers side floor on thr left hand side and you will see the foot rest there so u knw its a converted car.

if a conversion is done well then you dont have any issues BUT if not then its dangerous.

It varies oo BUT its quite adviseable to do it. i am currently working in the uk with a bank as an account manager but looking to relocate to 9ja and i graudated from uk but everyone willing to help as per job the first thing they are saying is do NYSC first as without it, it will hinder job prospects because its mandatory in 9ja. also those saying you can get a firm to do it with its true BUT they will only pay you as per corper level even tho you have experience eg NYSC pays 10k i tink and the highest paying bank for corper which is gtb pays 50k. am talking from my experience as i am interested in the banking sector. i have responsibilities, house rent to pay in 9ja and family to feed so how can 60k be substantial for me for a whole year. ? answer is it wont.

so i have decided to abandon every job search for now and focus on going to 9ja in jan and proceed to abuja to register my interest for NYSC so i can join the Feb 11 batch but as usual i wont chose lagos or abuja, will choose north probably jalingo or so. as all i will be doing is the 3weeks, arrange with my ZI and CLO to keep the allowee and come back to my job in uk and den go to 9ja every 4months just to see how things are going and get my Madam to keep in touch with them incase of any unforseen issues.

becos i didnt have NYSC it has hindered me getting a good job as the first question they ask me is NYSC even thou i have the qulifications and work experience.

so yes its adviceable to come back and do it.

Its compulsory for foreign trained graduates. i for example wanted to use the foreign trained stuff to dodge the NYSC but even tho i am qualified for jobs it has reduced my chances of gettin a job in 9ja as have been made to understand i have to gt it. so abandoning my search for jobs now to pursue the NYSC in the coming batch in february. obviously wouldnt be doing the whle 1yr. as cant survive on the allowance.

my friend deserted NYSC and said he was sick came to spend 3weeks with me in january 09 in lagos from zamfara or so. he was refused his certificate becos he missed head count and it took him months after to get his certificate after begging and pleading with greasing a few palms.

He even promised that, the engine will function as almost a new one after the job is carried out. i am not an expert BUT i believe there are different types of smokes which comes out from the exhaust either blue or black. it depends each has its own story but am sure the likes of sienna can shed more light on it.
