Politics / Re: Hon. Princess Chinwe Nnabuife Clarifies Position On The Proposed Creation Of Orl by AyakaDunukofia: 11:18pm On Jun 11 |
Tranquill: Igbo people are one and indivisible. That said, each of these administrative units called states in Igboland has developed certain mannerisms that are unique to her over the past three decades. Call it bragging, no part of Anambra would want to be excised from the state. Conversely, some communities in other Igbo states would appreciate being part of Anambra. The case of ANIOMA and Anambra is more of historical, cultural affinity. Almost all the towns in Anioma has historical ties to the area called Anambra. Anioma is the most sensible state that can be created against the backdrop of the clamour for state creation by the SE. It has geopolitical, cultural and economic benefits to every native Igbo speaker, east or west of the Niger. 1 Like |

The words that are contained in the old anthem are much more important than who wrote them. It reminds us of our diverse nationalities and languages. And the need to work together. |

PressMyButton: "An appendage is a thing that is added or attached to something larger or more important" It's only a foolish mind that analyses issues to suit a preconceived notion. Ado ni Idu is an appendage to a much more important identity which is Onicha, an indigenous Igbo name. "Onicha" communities are found in all over Igbo land. This issue is way above your comprehension. Get a translator to help you with what the monarch said. |

PressMyButton: You guys are very funny indeed. Ado ni Idu was adopted by the indigenes upon their return home to Igboland to denote their travails and sojourn in foreign lands. The symbol they carried along throughout the journey was their beloved shrine UDO. Udo is a common shrine all over Igbo land. Onicha people never lost their indigenous names to any tribe throughout their journeys. The founding ruler of the town till the present have been IGBOS, viz CHIMA OREZE CHIMAEVI Feel free to rebut me. |

Did Nairaland idioots understand what the Obi said? "Igbo bi na Ado na Idu" literally meaning Igbos living in Ado na Idu. Which solidifies the reverse migration of Igbo from the west. |

chopnaira: I didn't know the Agbor chief could be this stupid. Why didn't he start the correction with his own name Ikechukwu? There are obvious facts that makes one more of a dickhead the more you dislodge them. Let him get a Bini word to replace the Ike in his name. Then join it with the Osanobua. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I just can't figure out how to defend my Dunukofia dialect of the Igbo as a distinct tongue from the mother Igbo. Generations after me would struggle in vain to achieve that. At best, i might win the battle of being identified as a Dunukofia man but the battle of the language would never be won. It would always be Igbo. Why expend all the energy? 12 Likes |

Music/Radio / Re: George Benson: The Greatest Guitarist…what A Career..10grammy by AyakaDunukofia: 2:45pm On Apr 17 |
Indeed. George Benson was one of the greats of the cross-over/funky jazz era. In the same league was the late Grover Washington Jnr. Grover was a genius of the tenor and soprano sax. He was in fact known as the 'Architect of the funky jazz genre'. In the same genre, you must have appreciated the works of Eric Gale, Hubert Laws, Hank Crawford, Lee Oscar, Wynton and Branford Marsalis and so on. Well, Jazz music is seen by many as too elitist and aristocratic, but in sheet music lies class and elegance. |

Terrible. These actors/actresses are frequently in petty financial troubles. It's high time their association started taxing a percentage on any movie set to be released to the market. This should be specifically for serious health issues or issues as this one.Their plight is becoming embarrassing. 19 Likes 2 Shares |

Not so. Democracy is hinged on the principle of opposition. There should have been a shadow cabinet of the opposition in the first place. The pressure of a shadow government brings out the best in a sitting government. |
Politics / Re: Electricity: Neimeth Plans To Move headquarters From Lagos To Aba by AyakaDunukofia: 1:58pm On Mar 01 |
Generator-powered economy is not sustainable in the long term. Companies would make less profit because of high manufacturing costs. Consumers would buy at exorbitant prices. Not only Neimeth, other manufacturers should do the right thing. Aba is within PH range, security is relatively good. It is historically known for hosting multinationals. 30 Likes 2 Shares |

I don't want to sound tribal, but 85% of this bank's clientele are Igbo, the hard work of Herbert Nwigwe. It is in the best interest of this bank to appoint another Igboid from the South South or Igbo from the SE. Simple. This will foster confidence |

Yes, the idea of attending the Nigerian law school as a condition to rendering legal services that have nothing to do with the Nigeria's customary law, made no sense. This is a step in the right direction. |

Politics / Re: Seyi Tinubu Wants To Forcefully Grab My Legally Acquired Land—lagos Real Estate by AyakaDunukofia: 1:25am On Feb 05 |
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me. It's important to come together and speak out when people use the instruments of political power to effect lawlessness, injustice, covetousness etc. If a people don't do that, the evil will visit them one after the other. Nigerians kept quiet while Tinubu used his subsidiary company which is Lagos state government to demolish Igbo houses because he thought they didn't vote for him. His family's lawlessness, callousness and covetousness would eventually be tasted by all regardless of tribe. This is certain. 4 Likes 1 Share |
