the issue here is self explanatory. the upsurge in fraud menace amongst our youths is now affecting our core molding institutions.... the tertiary education.

The influx of these guys into our institutions is negatively impacting the core values of tertiary education. U are in Schl to get knowledge and education both in character and intellect to provide solutions (and not problems) to the challenges of the immediate society.

But reverse is the case; these guys are promoting both moral and intellectual corruption. they are defying the foundation of life which is GROWTH....

something is really wrong with our psychosocial morals in Nigeria especially in the Southern region.

Nigeria is the poorest country in the world, but more than 80% of this poverty is housed in the northern region. but it bewilders me that most is these online criminal activities are perpetrated by youths in the southern region.

The most frustrating of all is that some of these youths who are opportune to emigrate to western countries are going there with a preconceived notion of criminal ideas of various forms.

so, poverty to me is not the major reason why our youths are heavily involved in cyber crime. It runs deep down......something is very wrong somewhere; and I believe the cracks are in our psychosocial morals.

my guy, pls and pls don't let go of ur job. There are lot of MSc grads out there fasting and praying for a 50k job talk-less of of a 6 digit job.

my advice: defer the programme for like a year if possible coz I believe u need at least a year to get any form of leave from any organization and by then, u would have integrated and understand the organization very well.

if deferment is not possible, leave the programme and reapply to a nearby institution and let ur supervisor know that u are working so he can help u maneuver whatever challenge u might encounter..... if he's a sure guy.

finally, u need masters to get a good opportunity. right now, u have one. pls don't resign and find a way to get d masters for a better opportunity.

for about 13 yrs now, we've been battling the issue of boko haram. the growth of this sect which I believe is largely due to negligence in the part of the government and ideology/religion sympathy in the part of the natives of the domicile areas; though devastating, may be forgiven because I believe terrorism and 'religious fanatism' is nascent to the Nigerian community.

But I have a very big problem in the rising activities of bandits in Nigeria; and if we are not careful, this will be worse than boko haram. because we are facing community insecurity. ppl are now afraid to travel, to go to farms, and to attend functions.

The problem is Nigeria that ought to learn from boko haram is taking this issue with kids glove. now, over 600 schools has been closed in the north and more will still be closed. what is next? they will start attacking businesses and critical infrastructure such as hospitals......... and markets!

oh!!!!!! pls.....let's stop playing politics and let's solve this problem that threatens our fundamental right to live and make our social life extinct.

Some students and staff of Science College, Kagara, in Niger State, were kidnapped when bandits stormed the school on Wednesday morning.

A student was also reportedly killed by the bandits during the attack.

According to a source within the area, the attack started from the staff quarters and ended in the students hostels.

The source told The PUNCH that the bandits attacked the school at 2am.

The source said, “A staff by name Batagi, who was among those kidnapped, has escaped and is in the school now (as of the time of filing this report). Others are still with the bandits.”
