Here are the qualities of the 120 that received Holy ghost baptism in the upper room of Acts 2: they were disciples of Christ, they had been with Christ. They were also in one accord. No disunity. They had been praying and waiting for ten days. So the criteria are: a life of victory over sin, unity and peace with man and prayers of consecration. Otherwise you will join those that repeat gibberish and go back to a life of sin and immorality.

When the disciples were baptized, they spoke in languages which native speakers could understand, not gibberish. I have heard an Igbo praying in fluent Yoruba and I know of a white lady who spoke Ibibio.

Read Acts 2 and sincerely ask God for that type of experience. It may require you making restitution/apologies to those you offended. You may need to spend some time in earnest prayer seeking the experience.

My experience: I had asked God to forgive my sins and God did just that. I had/have the joy of salvation. I spent time asking God to so thoroughly clean me so that I would be a worthy vessel for His Spirit to dwell in and I felt His cleansing power. I noticed that I wasn't committing the sins I used to commit. I asked Him to baptise me with the Holy Spirit and heaven opened. I can't describe it because I felt like going to heaven that day. I spoke a definite language but no one was around to interpret it for me, but it was definitely different from the gibberish I had spoken before confessing and forsaking my sins

Scriptural reference for personal research

First, you need to understand God promised the disciples the baptism, evidently all Christians. So, the moment you are born again, you have every right to partake of this glorious inheritance.

These verses gives us a picture of it in the old testament Exodus 11:24-27, 1 samuel 19:18-24 and Joel2:28-31

These verses shows us what's Gods promise to them who would believe. Matthew 3:11,

John 14:26-(note this words in this verses- teach you all things-future past and present; bring all things to your remembrance-past ),

John 16:13(guide you into all truth-present, past and future; show you things to come-futurisitic).

Other verses are Acts 1:5, Acts1:8,

Biblical ways to receive the baptism

Acts 2:2-4(they received it while praying),

Acts 8:14-17(laying of hands) notice they have been baptised yet not one single of those that did water baptism received the baptism until the coming of Peter and John v12-13, and v16

Acts 10:44-48(they received it) notice they have not done water baptism v47-48

Acts 19:1-7(laying on of hand, note they were evangelist, evidently born again, but yet they were not endewed yet. They preached John the Baptist: they were baptised by water yet they do not have this experience)

Good observation there, if i break it down ir simply means the love of money is the root of all evil.

God said seek ye the Kingdom of God first ans other things will be added unto you.

In a nutshell, the love of money shouldnt get you into certain activities to make alot of money then negleting heaven. Rather put your hope in christ and work hard in whatever youre into and then all will be fine.

So truly you can be poor and be rich and still make heaven.

Many people think: "Saved just by simply believing and not by doing God's will and His works? That is too cheap a gospel. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.""

This is the TRUTH. Without doing God's will, no one shall enter the kingdom of heaven.

But such people who quote this verse will never tell you what exactly the will of God is or what the works are that He wants us to do. At best, they say it is keeping the Law and doing good, but "the Law is not of faith" and "without faith it is impossible to please God." According to Galatians 5:4:-"For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace."

But do we really for one moment think that our heavenly Father would make His will and His work that He wants us to do that are so crucial to our salvation vague in any way? Certainly not!

So what is God's will? What are the works that God wants us to do? Some people asked our Saviour Jesus this question in John 6. No better answer or explanation of God's will and His works that we must do than that which comes from our Saviour Jesus Himself!

28 "Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29 "Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

Again, in the same John 6, Christ tells us plainly what God's will is:

39 "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Believers, according to our Lord Jesus Christ, this is the work of God that we must do: believe in our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is God's will according to our Lord Jesus Christ: "that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

For the New Covenant believer, believing in our Saviour Jesus Christ is obedience. When the believing is right, right living will follow. We GET to do God's work. Under the New covenant, there is only the obedience of faith, not the Law. The Law is not of faith and without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Our salvation in Christ is a finished work. For all who truly believe, there is nothing for us to do -from our being called to Christ (see John 6:44- Our Abba Father called us) to our bodily redemption (the Rapture) in Him; yet we do exploits because "it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me."

Believe Right and you will Live Right.

All said and done, when we close our eyes we concentrate more on our spirit being in tune with God. If you have a very close relationship with God you can still open your eyes and communicate but there are some situations, nobody needs to tell you to close your eyes to pray.

So if you have a thousand sheep your tithe is 100 sheep which will be taken to the store houae of the house of God. Present day we call it church altho its supposed to be the house of God cause we the saints are the church.

If you read well it says "that yhere may be meat in mine house ". Not malachis house but the house of the Lord. And if we throw more light to meat in my house in the old testament like you say it could really mean meat probably for sacrifices or to feed the poor or less priviledged. But in the modern day tithes are used to maintain the church in terms of building, instruments and major necessities as pleasurable in the sight of God not the pastor. Tho many pastors misuse the tithe which makes all believers doubt and tight fist but its truly a commandment. God cant beg cause hes the giver of all things. If you give your tithe wholeheartedlt in truth and Spirit. Youll definitely get your reward. If not challenge God.

While I won't call it a sin, we should allow God direct us as to what type of movies to watch and listen. His spirit always direct us. Without being a Christian there are certain movies that promote nudity, drugs, extreme violence and homosexuality, those are not good for the human spirit, Christian or not. However I am really not a pastor but a not too distant convert.

Initially there were rules and regulations in Judiasm, it made the Christian practice cumbersome, we always threaded carefully, not wanting to flaunt the100s of rules written down, but in this dispensation, He said He is for us, this mean no one can successfully be against us, He said is with us, which means the fire of this life cannot successfully burn us, and He said He is in us, meaning that He will direct us on which way to go, He will teach us and direct on, on His ways and will not permit us to go against His will. Former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who is being investigated for a series of multi-billion dollar fraud and money laundering offences in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and America has threatened to squeal on her co-conspirators, Kola Aluko and Jide Omokore.

She said after opening up on everything that transpired in the controversial fraudulent transactions, she would be ready to be thrown in jail along with her co-conspirators.

Mrs. Alison-Madueke explosive comment is contained in a recorded conversation recovered by investigators probing the corruption allegations against the former minister.

Details of the conversations have now been filed as part of a civil complaint by the United States Department of Justice (DoJ) seeking the forfeiture of over $144 million slush fund.

The trio of Mrs Alison-Madueke, Mr. Aluko and Mr. Omokore were listed as persons of interest in the civil complaint filed at the US District Court, Houston, Texas.

The complaint revealed how the three individuals laundered millions of dollars on behalf of Mrs Alison-Madueke, which was used in buying properties in the US and the UK for her family in return for oil contracts to Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts Nigeria Ltd (AEDC) and Atlantic Energy brass Development Ltd (AEBD), two shell companies owned by Mr Omokore.

In the conversation with Mr Aluko recorded by herself on May 14, 2014, a clearly angry Mrs Alison-Madueke, admitted to helping his co-conspirators secure the multi-billion dollars Strategic Alliance Agreements (SAAs) deals.

In another conversation with another unknown recipient, the former minister dared Mr. Aluko to reveal details of their dealings, and then face the consequences.

She was however furious at how the ostentatious acquisitions of Messrs Aluko and Omokore might have led law enforcement agencies across the world to their shady dealings.

She was particularly mad at Mr Aluko’s acquisition of a the Galatical Star, a $80 million “super yacht”, warning that he could have rented a yacht for two weeks instead of buying one.

“You and Jide [i.e., OMOKORE] had some of the most support that we could possibly give. At a time when we’re not doing anything else, we stuck our necks out regarding the SAA and we supported it. [INAUDIBLE] How the two of you have ruined it is incredulous and incredible to all of us,” she said.

“I spoke to you several times about your general behaviour, acquisition of assets, etc., asking you to be a bit more careful because [INAUDIBLE] will start following you. I remember we had this open discussion more than once. You kept telling me that there was no issue because you did it in a certain way, you did it in a certain—and I kept telling you that it doesn’t matter how you do it.

“Once you start acquiring, acquiring, acquiring at a certain level, then you’ll be—whether you like it or not, whether it was done in the most transparent—you understand?— manner or not, because they will want to trace where it came from. This is an age of terrorism, “If you want to hire a yacht, you lease it for two weeks or whatever. You don’t go and sink funds into it at this time when Nigerian oil and gas sector is under all kinds of watch, as we have been for some time, and where Atlantic [i.e., AEDC and/or AEBD] itself has been the subject of all kinds of speculation,” she said.

Apparently while the trio allegedly schemed to launder billions of naira that should have accrued to the Nigerian government all was not well with them. In the recorded conversation, Mrs Alison-Madueke, in response to speculations that Mr Aluko was going to blackmail her, threatened to spill the beans.

She said she was ready to reveal to Nigerians all that happened and was ready to follow Messrs Aluko and Omokore to jail.

“I said tell him [i.e., ALUKO] to bring everything out, and then you know what will happen? No problem, I will be happy to escort all of you to jail along with myself. I said, in fact, you’ll be shocked by what I will do. Because when it comes to that, I will come out and tell the Nigerian people this is what happened.

“Oh, yes, I will blame myself, but it [INAUDIBLE] place and everything. Anything they want to say, I am happy to go. But I will come out openly and say it so that they can judge me openly. And then all of us go and sit on the gate. Let us see who survived [INAUDIBLE], me or you,” she said.

Mrs Alison-Madueke also acknowledged that the furniture she was given by the duo of Messrs Aluko and Omokore was not worth more than $4million.

“The furniture they gave me didn’t come to more than four million dollars, altogether. [INAUDIBLE] it is truth. I was with [INAUDIBLE],” she admitted.

Mrs Alison-Madueke, who is reported to be receiving treatment for cancer in the United Kingdom, is already facing a series of multi-billion dollar fraud-related investigations by Nigerian and UK authorities.

Last February a Federal High Court in Lagos ordered the forfeiture of N34 billion linked to her but stashed in several Nigerian banks.
Mr Omokore, an oil businessman, alongside some top officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is facing a nine-count charge of criminal diversion of about $1.6 billion of proceeds of sales of petroleum products belonging to the Nigerian government.

The Nigerian government is also seeking a world-wide freeze of multi-billion dollar assets owned by Messrs. Aluko and Omokore.
The assets include a $80 million “Super Yatch”, the Galatica and three private jets.

Adesulu said the offence the accused committed were punishable under section 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the alleged crime and Magistrate O.O Owunmi granted her to bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Owunmi adjourned the case till 28 July, 2017 for mention while the defendant was taken to Kirikiri Prison pending when she would be able to fulfill her bail condition.[/quote
