I always think it is better to be over prepared than to be under prepared. i Put in every imaginable certificate I had access to, |
Its simple, albeit it depends on the area where u want to do ur LL.M. Whether its corporate/commercial, Energy, finace, Environmental law etc. I first chose an area and then applied to a particular school. Before I applied, I sent a mail to the cordinator of graduate studies LL.M and the lady told me what I needed to do and how I could apply for scholarship. I did as she said and supported with prayers and with the mercy of God, I got it. Importantly u need a high G.P say like 4.0/5 on the average and at least 2.1 from Uni and Law Skol.even with all these, its the grace of God that is most important. My own skol has two streams of LL.M classes. |
That's a good idea. I submitted my application for my study permit to do my LL.M. I arranged my documentation sequentially. I must also state that I got full scolarship from the school.I provided my letter of admission and scholarship;letter from my employers stating my salary + yearly bonus. I submitted my application on the 13th of May, but I have not heard anything yet. |
I think the quality of life is fast diminishing and countries like Canada have a much better quality of life with very little population. |
Guys, please I still expect a response. God bless u all. |
Hi Nairalanders, I submitted my application for a study permit over 6 weeks ago at the Canadian Deputy High Commission and I have not heard anything yet? Is this cause for worry? I got full scholarship and I have a good job where I earn about 3 million a year(+bonuses).I stated and gave evidence of all these in my application. If there is anyone who understands the workings of the Canadian Embassy, pls.advice me- what my chances are and what I need to do. |
Can someone who has succeeded in getting a student visa to Canada help with timing, what you need to do to succeed in your application for a study permit Pleaseee! |
Please do not go ahead this way. the Canadian embassy is very strict. Please print out the forms from the internet and read and follow all instructions strictly. |
Hi, I am a young Nigerian lawyer under 30. By the grace of God, I have a good job and I earn around 3 million a year. I also have very good grades from Uni and Law school. I got admission and full scholarship to study in a Canadian Uni. By that very fact, I require a study permit and I need assistance in that regard. What can I do to get it right? Please help |

is the verdict that I refrain from buying or take caution to buy one well maintained? |
Ivvie God bless you. I guess I should just look elsewhere. Can you suggest a reliable car which is quite recent and less than 1 million Naira. I dont want to spend the money I have. |
I got a deal to buy an almost brand new Mitsubishi Galant 2000 ES model with full options at a car dealer last week. Before I paid, my Fiancee told her mechanic what I wanted to buy and he really discouraged her. for that reason, we have not paid for the car. I think its a good deal but I dont want to act contrary to my fiancee's wishes. what do you think? |

How far with NLNG, we are close to the 8th week since we wrote the 2nd test. |
what is new today on the NLNG issue? |
Hugo boi, believe me, I in one of the 1st five mentioned (not Gani) and the pay is monthly not per annum. A number of law firms pay quite well now. when u talk about per annum u are talking about 840k to about 1.3 million. My annual take home, is in that range. As for falani, he runs a law firm and has his wife as partner. it used to be at Ikeja GRA but i don't know the present location. It may still be there. I can't remember the exact name of the street but its around the Railway crossing. Stay Blessed and all the best. |
Well for starters, Banwo & Ighodalo pays about a 100k, Olanihun Ajayi 90k plus, Templars pays over a 100k, gani Fawehinmi 35k, Aluko & Oyebode 100k, Adepetun Caxton Martins 70 k plus, however most law firms apart from the top firms pay between 25k and 50k. Lest I forget, Aelex pays about 80k |
Aproko, I reliably gathered from a cousin who just started work with Templars that they pay over a N100, 000 for starters, apart from the attractive bonus. Infact, you need to have made a first class or have you masters from an IVY league school (U.K, USA, Canada etc) before you can stand a good chance of working there. I disbelieved my cousin until I saw her pay slip. |
Talking about law firms, which three law firms are the highest paying? |
Tanx all particularly ONYEMA1. I don't know if its true but someone told me Templars has one of the best work environment and is also high paying almost a 100k per month, profit sharing and 13th month. Octagon Building Marinho Drive. Is it true? |
As my NYSC year ends please I need a job and I need to start sending my C.Vs to law firms. Which top 5 or 6 law firms in Nigeria do u know? N.B I made a 2.1 from both UNI & Law School. |
