Honestly, INEC has no power on this particular issue because the supreme court will decide who the authentic chairman of APC is. If the primary was conducted by the unauthentic chairman, then the primary will be declared null and void and APC will end up not having a candidate in Edo.

Mr. Oshawo Stephen, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etsako West Ward 10, has dismissed claims that the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as a member of the party has been lifted, insisting that the ward executives stand by their suspension of the erstwhile National Chairman of the APC.

Stephen in a statement, said the ward executives who were elected into office in 2018 remain intact and have not been displaced by anybody, describing the claims of the lifting of the suspension as a charade.

According to him, “The suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole by the ward executives remains valid. The statements to the contrary in the media are false and should be disregarded. We stand by our decision and have no reservation on the action as it is in the best interest of the party.

“The ward executives as well as our counterparts at the Etsako West Local Government level stand by the suspension of Comrade Oshiomhole for his divisive role in the crisis rocking the APC in Edo State.”

Meanwhile, the Chairman APC in Etsako West LGA, Ezolomhe Rabiat, also affirmed that the LGA executives are still members of the party in the state and stand by the suspension of Comrade Oshiomhole.

. You don't understand the game. If u expell Gaidom, he will approach a court and the courts will declare his expulsion null and void and this will complicate things for APC the more.

As things stand now, Gaidom's faction has the upper hand. Buhari is the only person that can successfully solve the crises in APC but it seems he is no longer interested in APC affairs.

I woke up this morning wondering if the PDP is a political party with ideology or a mere gathering of thieves and power grabbers who are only after the money bag, and power? I asked this questions because since the inception of the PDP as a political party in 1999, the party has earned its name among Nigerians as a corrupt organization.

Not surprising why after ruling Nigeria for 16 years, the PDP was unanimously voted out by all Nigerians irrespective of region and ethnicity in 2015.

Since then, the PDP has been trying hard to rebuild their image in other to convince Nigerians that they can live above corruption and deliver good governance once again.

However, the recent political permutations in the PDP has not really shown that they are a party that is ready to change. This is because, since 2015, the PDP has been a dumping ground or better put 'a trash can' for politicians that are either expelled by another party or politicians that could not get the running tickets of another party. Indeed this is a shame.

Recent examples of this fact is the last minutes decamping to the PDP by the likes of Dino Milaye, bukola saraki, Gov. Samuel ortom and a host of others just because they found no favour anymore with the APC. These politicians were allowed to cross to the PDP without any screening or investigation into why they left the APC. They were rather accepted because they were politicians with big names and fat pockets!
Sadly, the recent open arms shown to the embattled governor of Edo state, Gov. Godwin Obaseki by the PDP goes further to proof that the PDP will never change its color.

Given the obvious reasons why Gov. Obaseki was disqualified by the APC, the PDP should not even be thinking of accepting him into their fold so as to avoid future court cases, however, that is not the case. The shameless party is even mauling to make him their flag bearer overnight!

One will therefore wonder, Does the PDP even have dignity? Do they have ideology or even plans for Nigerians? Does the PDP have a manifesto at all?

I specifically asked if the PDP has a manifesto of their own because we all know that governors in Nigeria hardly perform in their second term like they did in their first term. Infact they see their second term as a time to relax and 'reap the fruit of their so called labour'. Then why is the PDP in Edo state accepting a second term governor?
How can a party who want to truly redeem its image after they lost Edo more than 12 years ago settle for a second term governor? This is beyond reasoning and goes to show that the PDP does not care about good governance and does not also respect its members!

I therefore advise the PDP to retrace its step in Edo and face modern political realities that is obtainable in developed climes of the world. The PDP should as a matter of fact start to copy the progressive behavior of the APC if they ever want to redeem their image.

The recent disqualification of Gov. Obaseki by the APC national screening committee is a proof that the APC is a progressive party that is ready to learn from past mistakes in line with the laws of the federal republic of Nigeria.

The PDP in Edo should hurriedly lock the door against Gov. obaseki as a proof that they are ready to be a progressive party rather than a money and power conscious party. If this is not done, then they are driving the last nail into their coffin and Nigerians will continue to reject them at the polls.

APC will conduct two primaries in Edo. And the courts will nullify both after the election. I see Zamfara state scenario repeating itself here.

Isn't it a little too late of Obaseki dumping the party now? How sure is he that Edo people will even be loyal to him (not APC) and throw all their weight behind him? This desperate move of his might not do him much favour. Federal (Abuja) have smelled a scared , timid person and federal will capitalize that to make Obaseki concede. It's not just about Oshiomole right now. It's about party weight and loyalty of Edo politicians , both in Edo state and in Abuja. This man won't have it easy at all. His case will be somewhat similar to Ikedi Ohakim of Imo state years ago. He might loose and if Philip Shuaibu decides to run also that even makes it worse.

The only option left for Obaseki is to leave APC. It will be stupid of him to remain in APC after the humiliation.

Whether he wins or looses the election is in the hand of God Almighty only who sees tomorrow.

APC's biggest asset is the federal might. Whether or not u vote for them, they will use security forces to rig.

Many stimulators predicated his victory on him dividing the votes from the core north that is him getting 35% from the north west with the help of kwankwaso and tambuwal and lamido and winning the north central.he was also expected to win the north east or get 45% there while getting at least 90% from ss and se.

Instead he got 26% in the north west,29% in the northeast,lost the north central and south west narrowly.buhari who was expected not to get up to 10% in the ss and se got 32% in the ss and 20% in the east.I wonder what happened.no one should mention rigging because there was more rigging in 2015

There is nothing commendable about this. This is the sign of a week leader. Is turning back a punishment? Will it stop them from re-entering the immediately after the governor has left the place? Will it stop others from entering the state the following day?

Whenever a law is broken, a responsible leader will hand down a punishment, not necessarily because he hates the offender but to deter others from committing the same crime.

And no lockdown will work without sufficient palliative.

So the government is in serious dilemma.
