Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, says “bad people” have taken over the country from people who are “supposed to be in charge”.

Aisha said this on Thursday during a phone-in interview on Television Continental (TVC)’s ‘Journalists Hangout’ programme.

She said it is unacceptable that those who should be in control of the government have remained mute, while some persons are using the social media to bring down the government.

She said fake news has caused her some distress particularly when the president was rumoured to have died, and when he was said to be taking a second wife.

“I didn’t take it seriously because even my husband didn’t know what was happening,” she said of the rumoured marriage.

“Both of us didn’t know what was happening; they just decided to bombard social media with it. They are now taking to social media to bring down the government itself.

“I think that we should not allow people that are nothing to override the innocent; I don’t know why people that are supposed to be in charge should remain mute while bad people take over the country from us. It is impossible and totally unacceptable.”

Aisha also accused presidential aides and other government officials of ignoring issues they should respond to and focusing on things that the presidency has no business in.

“Whenever they (presidential aides) are supposed to take action against the offenders, or to take action or to take charge or be in control, or caution people, they keep mute,” she said.

“But when it comes to unnecessary things, people will start talking of the presidency. A typical example is what happened after the election in Bayelsa state. When the PDP came out and said they would … suspend His Excellency, Goodluck Jonathan, the former president, for doing wrong or something like that.

“I have seen no reason why (the) presidency should come out and say that they were shocked to hear that. Is it their business? Are they PDP members? Is president Jonathan a member of our party? What does that have to do with the presidency?”

don't bother yourself analysing unku. Ondo state is a PDP stronghold of course except Ondo north senatorial district and they alone can't overpower the central and the south.

The major reason PDP lost in 2015 was all thanks to GEJ who forced Mimiko on PDP and because Mimiko was positioning himself as a godfather(something highly forbidden in Ondo state).

I'm not there in town presently but i see works done by Aketi, he has performed buh he is under Jagaban command now, it's a risky something for his career. If PDP present Eyitayo Jegede(Akure man, couple with the fact that Akure been longing for power too) and with no more Mimiko, i think Jegede might easily win the election.

Jonathan has paid his dues politically. He does not need any benefit from any political party for the rest of his life.

Dickson told him to shut up, and he simply stayed away from Dickson and his candidate.

Those insulting Jonathan on this are grossly ignorant. Dickson destroyed the PDP chances in the election partly by his terrible performance in office in his second tenure and also by the way he imposed Senator Diri on the party. Dickson foolishly and arrogantly pushed out all the PDP stakeholders from the party all in a bid to install his stooge. Dickson severally disrespected Jonathan just because he wanted to install Diri. And for the records, APC's David Lyon is a godson to Jonathan family.

Let me set the record straight, Jonathan did not abadone the PDP, he only abandoned Dickson and his candidate, for obvious reasons.

For those of you who did not know, Governor Wike also abandoned Dickson and his candidate.

Blame Dickson.

The same mistake Governor Mimiko made in Ondo in 2016 was the same mistake Governor Fayose made in Ekiti in 2018. Dickson repeated the same mistake in bayelsa in 2019. Expect more PDP governors to make similar mistake in the near future. They never learn from history.

There was low turn out if voters in kogi east due to gunshot intimidation.
25% from the east added to 30% from the west plus his 100% home record = victory. That is their plan

if PDP manages to get 40% in kogi east, it is more than the total 100% APC would get in Kogi Central. And I can assure u, if APC gets all the the 100% in kogi central, PDP is also getting nothing less than 80% in kogi east.
