perfectly normal if you are just starting out with oop php. But try more frequently to group those ”procedures” into functions and wrap them in classes. That way you use mostly objects in your app

For the first question, i discovered by passing the connection variable as an argument to the functions, i can use them without creating a new instance for the function.

Is this good programming practice?

Hi guys,

I just dived into Object-Oriented programming style for PHP from procedural.

The issue i have now is, the functions within the Classes don't get to see the database connection Variable and i have to include it into each functions.

What other way can i do this without repeating the connection code for each function?

Also apart from the classes, the code i have been writing look like ordinary procedural form of writing and i've been wondering if i'm doing the right thing. is it normal for the code written in OOP style to look much like Procedural?


i have downloaded different PHP source code from free source codes site in order to check if i'm doing the right thing. but all the codes i have downloaded so far are written in procedural, probably by learners like me.
if you have a fully functional source code(like a blog) written in OOP that you can give out, i won't mind getting it.

Can IT Students Apply?

Day before yesterday I recharged N900 from by bank account but noticed an extra N120 reduction in my balance.

When I checked what the deduction was meant for through my mobile app, I saw something like "USSD SESSION CHARGE". when I contacted the bank, I was told its the transaction charges for using USSD for the month and the fee was approved by CBN last December.

The worst part is that there's no notification (alert) for this deduction.

you see, most of those guys don't have peace. they are afraid of law enforcement angencies, have to keep telling lies to their clients to cover up existing lies and some have to go extreme in using 'juju'.

conduct your investigations, how many yahoo guys have long life with freedom? many of those who live long among them get arrested later while most die young.

you see, if you take up a legal job, even if they pay just 50k, you can always invest in a better business and stat your own company with time.

As a means to promote my business and probably reduce competition, I'm thinking of redirecting another domain to my existing website.


The domain was the one I planned to use initially, but was already claimed when I'm launching my site which makes me choose an alternative, which doesn't really justify the site.


I recently discovered the domain has expired and now open to new registrants and I want to claim it.


Is there any online tool, website or host that can automatically redirect the new domain to an existing domain without me needing to purchase a new hosting plan as I still have about 10 months for the current hosting and domain, plus many people already know about the current domain?
