Stop giving birth to babies you can't afford to train

Lol. Even if you can afford to train a baby now, there's no guarantee you can afford it in the next 5 years - because of the ridiculous rate of inflation.

500k of today is less than 200k of 2015. So, someone earning 200k as at 2015 is earning much more than someone earning 500k now.

And guess what? Most people earning 200k as at 2015 can't boast of earning 500k now. Many (especially salary earners) are still stuck at that figure they earn then - which means they have lost over 50% of their purchasing power between 2015 and now.

So, realistically, there's nothing like giving birth to babies you can afford to train here in Nigeria. Because, even if you can afford it now, you have zero guarantees of tomorrow since you can't predict government's policies. Neither can you predict what the economy will look like. shocked

Another woman, Jummai Ibrahim, was arrested on the suspicion that she had been engaging in an affair with the bandits’ kingpin in the forest.

Jummai said she submitted herself to the bandits’ kingpin to protect her children and her father from their wraths because the bandits threatened to kill them, even after they had rustled the family’s cattle.

With all this suffering, they'll still vote Buhari a 3rd time if the opportunity arises.

And come to think of this!!!
It all feels like a propaganda to jeopardize the AFCON because some coaches in Europe were never in support of freeing their players for the tournament. Even fifa restricted the release of players till 3rd of January. Allowing them to prepare for only 6days. Now let's ask ourselves if it were Europa cup, could this be the measure metted on them.
Even though caf conformed to the rule.

It's not FIFA, but CAF.

FIFA mandated teams to release players 13 days to the tournament, but CAF gave teams opportunity to keep them until January 3 in solidarity with the leagues.

What’s the rate of vaccination in those places you listed?

In the event of n outbreak, those nations have everything it takes to curb it. They have the infrastructures, man power and economy to brace.

If an outbreak happens in Africa, you know the rest…

With all the Vaccination in those places, their infection/death rate is still higher than that of Africa - even when COVID outbreak is at peak here...

If you're not worried about them not cancelling tournaments, you shouldn't be bothered about cancelling AFCON too.

Lesser power go bow las las.

Is it that the state government didn't follow due process to acquire the land before turning the place to GRA or what?

Or has the state government become land grabbers too?

The state (under millitary government) collected people's land and demolish their houses in order to build a National Hospital. This is actually legal under the Land use act (Government can take people's land for public use).

But instead of building the National Hospital, they sold the land to themselves, so the people whose land were collected went to court.

The case started around 1980, and supreme court delivered judgement in 2012. All courts actually delivered judgement against the state.

The Judgement creditors eventually decided to implement the court judgement last year.

Assuming the state built the National Hospital the land was collected for, all this issue wouldn't have come up. But as per the usual corruption with Nigeria, they sold/shared everything, and Na there issue take start.

Na the state be land grabber.

A very good bill, I will only suggest there should be a threshold or qualification requirement in terms of profit after tax value.

In many countries, company declaring profit in excess of certain amount have to donate 5-10% of the profit to any Universities of their choice for R&grin.

1% has proposed out of annual declared profit is perfect and a good bill, considering banks deducts from accounts and smile home with billions in profit.

It's not actually the percentage here, but the fact that companies already have to pay some percentage of their revenue for different stuff like Education, Industrial Training, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund etc.

And this is apart from their Tax.

Hello, nairalanders in the house, pls I need your sincere advice in this matter.

I have known this lady I really want to marry for over 2 years now. Though our friendship have been a casual one. The issue is she told me she is a graduate and then i visited her house over 2 years back I met her mom and she asked me where I came from- my tribe and if I am a graduate and told her my tribe and yes I am graduate.

She said she wants her daughter to marry a graduate because she has done her best to train her school. It was of recent we started a serious marriage relationship and I told my pastor and we both met with pastor already.

It Is now she told me that she did not graduate that she was unable to pay school fees, though she went up to 500level and did I.T but her parents only paid 100 and 200 level school fees. She said she has no result/certificate. I told her am honestly disappointed for hiding this from me ever since and she said it is because I have not really made my intentions know to her.

One of the reasons I like her was being a graduate and I have not dreamt of marrying a non graduate.

Pls your sincere advice.

So, did you marry lady?

Unfortunately, I ventured into business this year but lost everything due to the evil employees I had. They intentionally wrecked the business and disappeared. I've been weeping since October till date and left with nothing.

How were your employees able to wreck your business successfully?

Are you the type that trust people OR
Don't you monitor the business well OR
Are you the gentle type?
OR is it family and friends you employ?

Whatever may be the case, shit happens. You won't be able to move forward if you don't forgive yourself for what happened. Clear your mind, learn from what happened, celebrate the season and plan how you can move forward.

If you keep sulking, you'll just remain stagnant for a long while.

It is obvious from the declaratory judgment of the Supreme Court that the judgment only recognized the Judgment Creditors as being entitled to first choice preferential treatment in the “allocation and or re-allocation of plots in Shangisha Village”. Education / Has Covenant University Produced A Nobel Laureate? by Ayemileto(m): 6:58pm On Dec 18, 2021
So, I was going through my Bookmarks today when I saw this thread I Bookmarked from 2018.

https://www.nairaland.com/4828609/covenant-university-produce-nobel-laureate

The thread is basically a declaration that Covenant University will produce a Nobel Laureate before 2022.

Attached is an excerpts from the article:

"Before the said date of 2022, at least one Nobel Laureate will rise from here”, the Chancellor, Dr David Oyedepo declared at the founders day ceremony."

Another section of the article reads as follows

Vision 10:2022 is a done deal. I therefore congratulate you ahead of time

The Nobel prize awards are usually given on the 10th of December, every year (the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death). Going by this, we can deduce that the last award before October 2022, is already awarded on 10th December, 2021.

So, I want to ask, Does covenant University now have a Nobel Laureate? shocked shocked shocked

Dear All,

The write up below is exactly what a friend is going through from his wife. Please what sort of action can he take?

Despite, all he has done to please his wife, called Reverend fathers and pastors to counsel them both, his wife is still indifferent to him and is threatening to quit the marriage, citing accumulated pains of the past.

Currently, she says she wants to go back to her parents house else she will die or commit suicide. The man called her parents, and their advise was that since she is his wife, he should decide if to allow her leave his house to come and see them (parents) or stay in his house that the decision is his as the husband.

At this juncture my friend is confused and dont know what to do again.

Even the unmarried friend of his wife who came to stay with them is not helping matter at all as she seems to be enjoying the challenge between my friend and his wife.

Please advise needed. Thanks.

This bolded part is the issue.
