I know the bulk of the people on that thread as peddlers of childlish rumours of the 'dem say dem say' kind. The SSS job was advertised early last month and is not like the immigration job or civil defence you have been waiting endlessly for and have made you restless. SSS is not a job for agents to hijack, you cud have a godfather who wud recommend you and in that case you do not have to pay an outrageous amount of money for d job. I can categorically tell you that there is nobody in trainning on this SSS Course 28, it cud be any other course. Please leave this thread alone with ur gibberish.

I have jst been thinking that the Sallah celebrations and the Osun State polls are some of the key factors in the postponement of the exams. One credence to this thought is a news I jst read on Vanguard about 5000 SSS operatives storming Ekiti ahead of the polls. I believe everything about DSS recruitment should be concluded by September ending at the most. Whichever is the case I know my time has come.

Nairaland moderators can improve on their job and bring sanity to Nairaland by having a system in place where any post which is not on the subject-matter of a thread is rejected. You find this in place in very good websites around the world. Poor verbal communication skills, disorganisation, insanity and rude ways of doing things is a disease with most Nigerians. That is why you see people advertise or preach inside a public transport and you find a mosque having a very large horn-speaker outside their premises to wake you up every 5.00am regardless of whether you are interested in what they are doing or not. ejiykzazi2007: For me, I guess it was postponed cos dey want to do a proper shortlisting, if dey continue d way dey are goin, a stampede is bound to hapen cos dey invited all of us dat submitted CV, seems d only screenin dey did was collectin our numbas from our CVs, if u applied nd wasn't invited, den dey must hv copied ur number frm ur cv wrongly not because dey screened u out... Why invite ova 2k applicants just to select like 3-10 candidates? Its absurd. And rber, after d NIS wahala, d President gave a directive dat no agency shud undago such recruitment again or face d consequence, it mins no agency shud invite a very large numba in one place just to select a very few, thereby endangerin d lives of oda dat may not b successful... So in d next invite, if dia wil b any, dos who got invite b4 may not get again cos dey may hv bin screened out... May God give us d grace of patience... Amen.

Godisnear: The real question we all should be asking is, would the exam still be conducted again?

I believe it was Yellow House, Abuja that gave the directive that all State Command should suspend the exam till further notice.

Folks with beta Sauce or source, abeg clear the air.

What about states that have conducted theirs? Will they cancel it and incur another expenses re-reconducting it. The suspension is individual state thing. The exam is still holding in Uyo 2moro like I have confirm.

i pity una,allthough government has promise fresh and well co-ordinated recruitment this year but THE EXACT DAY NO ONE KNOWS

MY ADVICE IS FOCUS LESS ON THIS IMMIGRATION THING AND FACE YOUR JOB OR FIND SOMETHING TO DO.

Some thinks things will begin to happen if they become more anxious and desperate, whereas it is clear the committe is really bidding its time and is not ready to succumbed to any pressure in conducting a veritable recruitment.

mollode: The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) said on Monday that victims of the botched March 15 recruitment would be employed after a fresh exercise.

Mr Chukwuemeka Obua, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the service, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

On March 15 the service conducted a nationwide recruitment that claimed the lives of some applicants while several others were injured due to a stampede in some centres.


Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has announced in a statement on March 15 the setting up of a committee to assist the Paramilitary Board in conducting a fresh exercise.

The statement said the committee would liaise with the board to confirm the actual number of personnel to be recruited and assist in re-advertising the recruitment with a view to starting the process afresh.

It said the committee would also assist the board by processing the applications, short-listing potential candidates and conducting the necessary interviews for the purpose of the exercise.

The committee was to ensure that three family members of each of the deceased applicants, at least one of whom should be a female, and those injured, were given immediate and automatic employment in the service.

The committee was given 12 weeks to complete its assignment.


Obua said that although the date for the fresh exercise was yet to be fixed, the committee which had Mr David Parradang, the Comptroller-General of the Service as member, was working tirelessly to ensure a hitch free exercise.

“The committee is more transparent and is currently working out modalities for a fresh exercise.

“I have been contacted to draft advertorials to inform suitable applicants who wish to partake in the exercise,” he said.

He said that applicants of the botched recruitment who wished to partake in the fresh exercise must apply again as the President had cancelled the March 15 exercise.
