Step forward MTN. MTN wants to destroy my family o. They will always send junk messages to my illiterate mother. And immediately her fone rings as a result of a message from MTN, you would have to read and interprete it to her. She would resist every attempt every attempt to tell her to ignore the message. Many times, i lost count of how many interpretations and explanations i have to do per day. It makes me sick.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Gay Activists Protest, Ask Buhari To Repeal Nigeria's Antigay Law (Pics by Ayo25: 10:34am On Oct 01, 2015
Actually I have always thought that the anti-gay law as it is in Nigeria presently is too mild and friendly. It should be life imprisonment for gays and their likes. There is no point bringing them out of jail again after sentencing. The society is for homosapiens not for some sub-human scums called homosexuals...

Good one Justice. The problem now is whether the Governor will approve the execution. Remember Reverend King, so many years after sentencing to death, he is still in Kirikiri because the governor has not approve it.

I beg to disagree with your assertion sir, how well have you done your statistics to have reach such conclusion as you've quoted up there claiming so many people are now very skilled, chunk of our graduates attention is shifted to the hope of getting a well to do job on the average while less attention is been paid to acquisition of skills due to some certain factors, such as the ageing factor, the egoism factor, the get rich quick syndrome and the time factor, etc are the reasons why most graduate might not want to consider such, until the already sharpened teeth of poverty has eaten deep into the fabric of their pockets will such might tickle and trigger their mind on something productive.

To knock you off in the case of the so called olokadas category, most are not found in there field too, due to laziness, as okada is now perceived by people of their class a lucrative business in the city of Lagos, connection problem, lack of independence, stack illiteracy, semi professional, lack of adequate equipment and so on.

Last Bullet,

By his grace I'm a testimony to this looming predicament trending in our society as of now, had my OND, BSC, Masters, a former bank staff or worker(contract) earning stipend which doesn't make ends meet, non sustainable job and considering the fact that its not promising and futuristic, I had to take a bold step to commit my time in learning painting and special effect after my resignation, now I get contracts in multiples and I assemble other professional painters on huge projects, do my supervision with less stress and i get paid for a job weldone.

My brother stop wailing and entertain less excuse, open your mind and reason beyond, this will go a long way, country in mess or no mess, have this in mind, even when it rained, your feet will still be messed up in the mud.
You do not have to type this long epistle just because you disagree with me because actually you do not have to agree with me. You should keep calling people who are not as opportuned as you names and insulting them just because of the passing success you have had. I still want to reiterate and have no apology that skill acquisition is not the way out of poverty in this country, it only creates an aura of pomposity and terrible pride in the minority few who have acheive little success of it, of which you are a good example. I have no reason to wail because I am comfortable but I am not fooled by the dummy the govt have sold to people like you. Whatever a person has elected to do he should get the opportunity to do it. That is the hallmark of a just, fair and egalitarian society. Peace

dearpreye:
The system is messed up. Yes. But what will you rather do? Sit and keep blaming the government? You can hardly overflog the truth.
The situation is an hopeless one. Skill acquisition is not the answer. I have told you all graduates now know they have to learn a skill and many have and are still learning. But the bitter truth is that the more they learn, the more frustrated to become. The same reason why they cannot get a job as graduate is the same reason they cannot make money with their skill. If someone had gone to school and decided he wants to make a living with it, whats is wrong about that? Did the constitution not say that the government of the FRN would make the country a land of equal and bright opportunities for its citizens, which in simple interpretation meant that, whatever legitimate thing you have elected to do, be it schooling or skill acquisition, there would be conducive atmosphere for it. I havea skill but people should spare me all this skill acquisition talk, as a way to financial heaven.
CareerRe: Degrees Are No Longer Enough: It's Time To Learn A Skill! by Ayo25: 2:26pm On Sep 25, 2015
This issue of asking people to learn a skill has been overflogged and is now very boring to hear. Actually a lot of people are now very skilled in doing one thing or the other, and are still not better off. It would interest you to know that many okada and tricycle riders are skilled in one thing or the other. Rather than admit the country is messed up, you are beating about the bush blaming peoples dependance on their degrees.

Oga nick names don't matter. The cool ones are the ones with the wildest nicks while the troublesome ones are the ones with the most gentle nick names
So to you a good name is no longer better and everyone should no longer bother about the kind of name they bear. In criminal law, your name or aliases, to a great extent can be used against you. I have actually seen a case where a judge sentenced a person to jail citing his nickname as one of the evidence against him. You better stop saying this thing you have been saying.

Good morning Madam. Were the vacancies advertised before they were recruited?
To be fair to the DSS, yes, the vacancy was advertised. There is even a thread for it on Nairaland which I have visited this morning and where this news too has been posted. I actually applied too and took the test with many others in my state of origin, Oyo, but did not make the cut eventually. The government could have good reasons to have dismissed the lot, but its sad for those affected.
PoliticsRe: Buhari’s First 100 Days - Opeyemi Agbaje by Ayo25: 3:31pm On Sep 11, 2015
I have always said that no matter how terrible President Mohammadu Buhari performs, he can never be worst than Jonathan. Opeyemi Agbaje, a loyal Jonathanian and an appointment hopeful before Jonathan was chased away, should know that all these line of arguements about the ethnic origin of political appointees no longer fly to the majority of us Nigerians who are desirious of genuine change. As a south western Nigerian and Christain who campaigned for Jonathan in 2011, I became very ashamed and could not believed that we have a southern christain at the helm of affairs all through the Jonathan reign, if not for anything but the high rate of corruption. If it appears that the south is been marginalised so be it. We have had our chance and messed it up. Maybe God is punishing us now.

The fact that there are millions of graduate roaming the streets in search for a job is hardly a consolation for anyone who have not gone to school, no matter the amount of wealth he posseses, if you know what education means. That your so called rich illiterate friend will always carry with him anywhere he goes some sort of 'emptiness' in him, which no amount of wealth can fill. Education is an end in itself.

Ahah, you remind me of Dr Dotun Ogunkoya(RIP) of the dept of philosophy in those days. In one of his classes, he once told us that the Bible makes use of symbols a lot, that the forbidden fruit eaten by adam and eve is actually sex, that sex is natural and it does nt mk sense for anybody to blame him anytime he does it. He was so vile and sexually immoral and would do anytin to justify his vile nature. He was quite young when he died. I hope it was not sex that killed him.
SportsRe: FIFA Presidency : Fashanu Endorses Kalu by Ayo25: 7:44am On Aug 08, 2015
Boyooosa:
MOD, Pls help me to copy KALU or a Joker or wetin dem call am? huh
Basically if you want to be FIFA President:
You need to have one of the member association to nominate you as a candidate before the opening date of Congress.
You need to win the election at FIFA Congress.
Of course, to win the election you need to lobby a lot of association members so that they will vote for you. For example, FIFA President from 1974 - 1998, João Havelange visited 86 countries prior to his FIFA Presidency.

Before that you need to be a quite influential figure before you will be nominated as FIFA President Candidate. Joao Havelange was CBF (Brazilian FA) President and Sepp Blatter was the General Secretary of FIFA before they become FIFA President. For the next election, Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, current FIFA Vice President has been tipped to challenge Blatter.

If you really want to become president of FIFA, I think you need to have influential position in soccer or sports in general, and it would take some time to get to that influential position. Sepp Blatter has been working 23 years - from 1975 as a Technical Director - before he could become president FIFA in 1998.
Some people on here clearly do not know what they are talking about. All they know how to do is see things from tribal perspectives. Some are even mentioning kalu's feat with enyimba as part of his acheivement to contest fifa presidency. Stupidity gets real.

Ahahah. Na by force to get BVN ni. I will withdraw all my money before the deadline. Later several banks will come back begging me to open an account with them like they use to do. Some of you do not know the banks are in a very weak position. Those people queing up in banks do know the power they have.
BusinessRe: Banks May Deny 14.6 Million Customers Services By Wednesday by Ayo25: 9:52am On Jun 29, 2015
The banks can never win on this one. There are those people who would actually want to dare the banks and deliberately not bother to register, and in all honesty there is nothing the banks can do to peoples money just because they have no BVN. If there was several extensions on a small matter like sim card registration, how much more on issue of money or who does not know that 'money mata na serious mata o'. Again just watch how some people who have not been able to register embark on mass withdrawal from their accounts. Do not think the banks can win on this one.

In school exams in those days, a lot of people would not read a comprehension passage but will try to answer the question that follow, despite the instruction bodly written that they should read the passage carefully before attempting the questions. This malaise grew with this people and despite that they have added to their age all the years round, they fail to grow in wisdom just because they are too lazy to read a simple passage.
TravelRe: Share Your Most Tedious Journey Ever by Ayo25: 8:07am On May 13, 2015
ojosegun2011:
My most tideous journey was sometimes around August 2007 when Armed robbers blocked Lokoja -Okene Road on my way to Abuja and we all scampered for safety and Ilied down on top of a python that had swallowed a ram with two big horns. About four other passengers were hiding behind a rock resting on a log of wood unknown to us that it was a python until our weights was disturbing it and it flung us like sticks and rabbled round the whole cliff. The robbers that were chasing us eventually ran together for safety with us back to the main road on sighting the massive reptile which was moving towards a nearby river with two visible horns in its mouth. Two female passengers on sighting the python eventually fainted and were carried back to the road. That was my most harrowing travelling experience ever. The robbers ran away and we later discovered that they were robbing with only one real gone with few bullets and many toy guns and ordinary woods carved and painted like guns. They escaped into the nearby bush and disappeared.
This one got me laughing really hard. Sorry for the experience though.
